Bei Verwendung eines unsymmetrischen Glykols als alleinige Alkoholkomponente wird die Kristallisationstendenz erniedrigt. Hierauf kommt es aber bei der Lösung der gestellten Aufgabe nicht an, denn bei Polyäthylenterephthalat besteht die Periode aus Äthylenglykol-Terephthalsäüreester und hat somit eine bestimmte Kristallisationstendenz, die für elektrische Zwecke z. B. bei der Verwendung als Kondensatordielektrikum, ungünstig ist. Es gilt also, um die gestellte Aufgabe zu lösen, die Kristallisationstendenz eines bestimmten Polyesters so zu verändern, daß für elektrische Zwecke verbesserte Eigenschaften auftreten. Für diese Zwecke schlägt die Erfindung die Verwendung eines Polymischesters als Isolierstoffolie vor, dessen Ketten, bezogen auf die Kettengliederzahl, zu 90 bis 99°/o aus dem Ester der Terephthalsäure mit Äthylenglykol sowie zu 1 bis 100/o aus Estern der Terephthalsäure mit einer oder mehreren anderen Dioxyverbindungen bestehen. Die anderen Dioxyverbindungen sind vorzugsweise aliphatischer Natur. Als Beispiel hierfür seien genannt ein oder mehrere der folgenden Glykole, wie 1,3-Propandiol, 1,2-Propandiol, 1,2-Butandiol, 1,4-Butandiol, 1,2-Pentandiol, 1,5-Pentandiol.
