Process for the preparation of monoazo dyes It has been found that new valuable monoazo dyes are obtained if diazotizable amines of the general formula which are free from sulfonic acid groups and free from sulfonic groups are used where B is a radical of the benzene series, X is hydrogen, an alkyl or aryl radical and T is a symmetrical triazine radical, diazotized and in the neutral to acidic range with compounds of the all-
wherein R is hydrogen; denotes an alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl radical, couples.

organischer Lösungsmittel, wie Eisessig, Dimethylformamid, Dioxan, Aceton od. a.
The aforementioned aromatic amines are diazotized after
known methods in hydrochloric acid aqueous solution, if necessary with the aid
organic solvents such as glacial acetic acid, dimethylformamide, dioxane, acetone or a.
Coupling with 2-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid or its N-substitution products
takes place in the neutral to acidic range, the azo radical entering in the 1-position.

Behavior in level red to bordeaux red shades of very good light and wet fastness.
Beispiel 1 13,2 Gewichtsteile
Compared to the dye known from Example 1 of German Patent 960 484, the dyes of the formulas obtainable according to the process stand out due to better carbonization fastness of the dyeing on wool. The dyestuff mentioned in the second place which can be obtained according to the process also has better neutral drawability than the previously known dyestuff. Example 1 13.2 parts by weight of the amine of the formula are dissolved in 50 parts by volume of dimethylformamide, 8 parts by volume of concentrated hydrochloric acid are added and a concentrated aqueous solution. of 2.2 parts by weight of sodium nitrite was added dropwise. When the diazotization is complete, 9 parts by weight of 2-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid are added and the mixture is stirred at room temperature until the coupling has ended. It is then diluted with hot water, table salt is added until it is completely precipitated, the dye is filtered off with suction and dried. A dark powder is obtained which dyes wool from a neutral bath in level clear red shades of very good light and wet fastness.
Farbstoffe von ähnlichen Eigenschaften erhält man mit 2-Methylamino-8-oxynaphthalin-6-sulfonsäure,
2-Äthylamino-8-oxynaphthalin-6-sulfonsäure oder 2-Butylamino-8-oxynaphthalin-6-sulfonsäure;
mit 2-Phenylamino-8-oxynaphthalin-6-sulfonsäure erhält man ein Bordo von ebenfalls
guten Echtheiten.
