Description
Method of sealing: of floors with an organic polymerizate Varnish Containing as Binder The invention relates to a method for sealing of floors with a lacquer containing organic polymers as a binder.
Various methods are known for sealing floors which the sealant with relatively low viscosity in several thin layers of 70 to 120 g / m2 each with a brush or the like will. This results in a high expenditure of working time, which is still a result increased that in all known methods it is necessary to wait until the previous layer is completely dry before a new layer is applied can be. The waiting time is added to the pure working time. Each thin layer is in the known method in the form of adjacent strips upset. Because of the thinness of the layer, it happens that a streak occurs is already more or less dried and is finite to the fresh ones to be placed next to it The strips at the transition point do not connect properly. Between the individual strips therefore, transition points are formed that are noticeable to the eye and are unattractive works. Another disadvantage of the known method is that the brush or the like in the thin layer cannot be moved quickly. Namely, it evaporates a large part of the solvent relatively quickly, making the layer tough and the brush hairs stick to it. Because of the low thickness of the layer runs these too bad. So-called strands are formed, which can be clearly seen.
Up to now, chlorinated rubber varnishes have been used for floor sealing, Polyurethane lacquers (DD lacquer), acid-hardening lacquers and oil synthetic resin paints used.
Chlorinated rubber paints are available in both high and low viscosity Made consistency. However, the highly viscous plastic varnish will not be direct processed during floor sealing, but before processing to a brush consistency set. The usual viscosity here corresponds to a flow time of approximately 50 to 120 seconds, measured in a flow cup DIN 5321l with a nozzle of 4 mm. All well-known recipes are structured in a spreadable consistency, and it is even made on the part the manufacturer recommended the blending with white spirit in order to avoid the spreadability of Chlorinated rubber paint still to be increased. Furthermore, the manufacturer recommends that the layer thickness of chlorinated rubber paint is not less than 0.12 mm target. This layer thickness can, however, because of the low viscosity consistency of the chlorinated rubber paint can only be achieved in several coats. The associated high expenditure of work and time as well as other disadvantages have already been dealt with above.
It is also known to cover floors with polyurethane varnishes (DD varnishes) to seal. These paints are also applied in several coats. The dry season between the individual application processes is about 10 hours, so here always long drying times have to be accepted.
The acid-hardening lacquers are also applied in several layers, with drying times of 1 to 6 hours to be expected.
In the case of oil-synthetic resin paints, 2 to 3 layers are also applied, with the amount applied per layer being around 80 to 100 g / em2. In this case, however, the drying times are particularly long, as a drying time of around 24 hours must be expected for each shift.
The further known polyester lacquers can be used for floor sealing are practically not recycled. They have, especially when they are in thick layers applied, considerable tension. If they are thin, they penetrate into the wood, sometimes so strongly that they disappear completely into the wood: -Its molecular structure results in low mechanical resistance Wear and Chipping. Furthermore, polyester lacquers yellow over time. aside from that can they only be applied to wood with a moisture content below 12 "/, and do not cure sufficiently at temperatures below 18 ° C.
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method of sealing of floors with a lacquer containing organic polymers as a binder to create that can be carried out with little effort and time: Um To achieve this, a vinyl chloride-acetate copolymer is used according to the invention and lacquer containing essentially low boiling solvents with a flow time from about 200 to 500 seconds, measured in the DIN 53211 discharge basin with a nozzle of 4 mm, poured onto the floor in quantities of around 200 to 1000 g / m2 in one operation and evenly distributed. This is a major technical advance achieved. Applying the varnish in a single layer reduces the wear and tear Work and time expenditure are essential, especially because there are no waiting times It is necessary to wait for individual layers of paint to dry. Also has the floor sealing produced with the new process has a higher adhesive strength on. This is due to the fact that in - the - at the same time on the floor applied amount of paint despite a relatively large proportion of solvents high viscosity is present.
As a result of this high solvent content, a longer one results open time so that the paint can better penetrate the substrate. The surprising Another feature of the new process is that no blistering occurs in the paint. This can perhaps be explained by the fact that the air above the applied The paint layer is heavily enriched with solvents. This enriched with solvent A layer of air prevents premature skin formation, so that those trapped in the paint Air can escape for a long time. With thin layers of application is only proportionate little solvent available, so that the layer of air above the paint layer is only weakly enriched with solvent. As a result, with thin layers of paint rapid skin formation is to be expected.
The distribution of the lacquer poured on in a thick layer is extraordinary easy, because brush, spatula, roller or the like in the relatively thick layer of paint despite its viscosity, slide better than in one that is already drying thin layer. The thick layer runs much better than the known ones thin layers so that no streaking occurs. The by pouring out and Spreading produced thick layer does not dry as quickly, so it looks fresh a bottom section poured paint with an already on the adjoining one Floor section located layer connects seamlessly. Besides, will also the total drying time is shortened. While in the known method relatively a lot of high boiling solvent had to be used in thin layers to be able to paint, is a low-boiling point and therefore faster according to the invention drying solvent used. Because of the large amount of paint that was produced after the invention Method is poured in one operation, the uniform distributability of the paint is not impaired in spite of the low-boiling solvent. That as a binding agent vinyl chloride-acetate copolymer used results in a plastic layer of high abrasion resistance and resistance to moisture.
A paint that is particularly useful for the process according to the invention is composed as follows: 20 parts of vinyl chloride-acetate copolymer, 20 parts plasticizer, 2.5 parts low viscosity nitrocellulose, 30 parts toluene, 1.25 parts of butanol, 44.25 parts of butyl acetate. The mixed polymer consists here, for example from 40 parts of vinyl acetate and 60 parts of vinyl chloride. However, others also come Compositions in question, e.g. B. 13 to 15 parts of vinyl acetate and 87 to 85 parts Vinyl chloride. The addition of -2.50 / 0 low viscosity nitrocellulose results in a surprisingly high adhesion of the paint on the substrate. He's not only liable works very well on wood, cork and other flooring materials, but also on metal surfaces.
In connection with the paints listed above, for example, is a Foil made from a polyvinyl chloride-acetate copolymer is particularly suitable. One Such film is affected by the solvent that is in the sticky surface of the wetted paint film is, softened on the underside and therefore sticky excellent with the applied varnish.
Applying a film is particularly useful when very thick, hard-wearing protective layers are to be achieved by sole Applying a highly viscous plastic varnish would not be possible because the evaporation of the solvent would take too long.
A floor sealed in this way combines the advantages of a Plastic covering, namely durability and freedom from pores, with the advantages of the wood, namely the dignified appearance, sound insulation and warmth of the floor, in Ideally.
