Apparatus for gasifying hydrocarbons The invention relates to
on a device for gasifying hydrocarbons.
There are known gas generators which have a substantially cylindrical

be introduced. Inside the reaction chamber is near the gas vent
a rapidly rotating impeller is provided, with the help of which in the reaction chamber

will. This leads to temperature peaks that lead to undesirable cleavage processes
can lead, avoided. Because the temperatures in the gas generator are relatively high
are, with the known gas generators, the metal impeller with
Chilled water. At the same time, this is part of the exothermic gasification process
Any heat released is dissipated so that a favorable reaction temperature is maintained
can be. However, since the impeller rotates at high speeds, it prepares
the water cooling of the wheel, in particular the introduction and discharge of the water in
the impeller, technical difficulties.

The invention is based on the object of cooling the impeller
in which these difficulties are avoided. This task will
solved in that either the inside of the chamber wall in the area of the impeller
is covered by a coolant container or the side wall of the chamber
consists of a coolant container at the level of the impeller. The cooling
According to the invention, the impeller does not take place directly, but only
indirectly. Surprisingly, it has been shown that this cooling is sufficient,
to ensure the strength and sufficient life of the impeller.
Because the wall of the reaction chamber due to the cooling in the area of the impeller
has relatively low temperatures, the impeller can generate a large amount of heat
are given off by radiation on the wall. This already becomes an essential one
Causes a cooling effect. In addition, however, it is precisely in the area of the impeller
The turbulence of the gases inside the reaction chamber is extremely high,
so that a further cooling effect occurs through convection of the gases. At the same time will
the temperature of the gases themselves is effectively lowered so that compliance
the desired reaction temperature of the exothermic gasification process without difficulty
is possible. The invention is illustrated below with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2 explained in more detail.

Embodiment.
The in F i g. The gas generator according to the invention shown in FIG. 1 has a reaction chamber 1 which is cylindrical in cross section. This reaction chamber consists essentially of refractory material. A nozzle 2 through which the hydrocarbons to be gasified is introduced into the reaction chamber 3 opens centrally in the bottom of the reaction chamber. The nozzle 2 is surrounded by a swirl nozzle 4 which is provided with swirl plates 5 in the vicinity of its mouth and to which the gasification agents, such as air, oxygen and / or water vapor, are fed via a tangential connection 6. In the upper area of the chamber 1, an exhaust pipe 7 is provided for the gases generated. Approximately at the level of the exhaust pipe, an impeller 8 is arranged in the reaction space 3 , which can be set in rapid rotation via a shaft 9 with the aid of a drive (not shown). In the area of this impeller, the inside of the lid 10 of the chamber is lined with a cooling water tank 11 to which the cooling water is supplied via a lower line 12 and from which the heated water is discharged via an upper line 13.
Der Kühlwasserbehälter 11 bewirkt also
Die in F i g. 2 dargestellte Ausführungsform
During operation, the hydrocarbons to be gasified, e.g. B. in the form of light oil, and via the swirl nozzle 4, the gasification agent, for. B. air and water vapor introduced. At the same time, as a result of the rapid rotation of the impeller 8, the gases generated are returned inside the gas generator, as is illustrated in the sectional plane by the flow lines 14. As a result of the incoming mixture of the introduced hydrocarbons and gasification agents with the recirculated production gases, a uniform gasification temperature is achieved, which is of great importance for the generation of a soot-free gas. Naturally, the turbulence of the gases generated by the impeller is greatest in the area of the impeller, in particular some of the gases that are thrown outward by the impeller and thus come into direct contact with the cooling water tank 11, are immediately sucked in again by the impeller, so that these gases, which have a relatively low temperature, in turn cool the impeller. Further cooling of the impeller takes place in that the impeller radiates considerable amounts of heat onto the cooling container. The cooling water tank 11 thus causes both a cooling of the impeller and a cooling of the recirculated gases, so that on the one hand the desired reaction temperatures can be maintained without difficulty despite the exothermic warming of the gasification process, but also those for the impeller at the required high speed For reasons of strength, permissible temperatures are not exceeded, so that direct cooling of the impeller can be dispensed with and the technical difficulties associated therewith avoided. The in F i g. The embodiment of a gas generator according to the invention shown in FIG. 2 corresponds to a large extent to that according to FIG. 1; the same parts have therefore been given the same reference numerals but with an index line. In this embodiment, the side wall 1 ′ of the reaction chamber has a chamber 15 designed as a cooling water container approximately at the level of the impeller 8 ′. This cooling chamber is provided with a lower water inlet 16 and an upper cooling water outlet 17. In this embodiment, the gas discharge opening 18 is arranged above the impeller 8 ' in the cover of the reaction chamber. The embodiment according to FIG. 2 is characterized by a particularly simple design with very good effectiveness.
