Patentschrift stimmt mit der Auslegeschrift übereinThe patent specification corresponds to the patent specification
The subject of the main patent 1 154 593 is the use of «-oxymethylated aldehydes for Tanning of hides and skins.
It was found that α-oxymethylated Aldehydes, especially trimethylolacetaldehyde, are also suitable for tanning or dressing fur skins. There is an advantage in dressing fur skins using the aldehydes mentioned mainly in the fact that much higher shrinkage temperatures can be achieved than with the known use of non-oxymethylated monoaldehydes, such as formaldehyde, is possible. There the a-oxymethylated aldehydes have an increased reactivity due to their content of oxymethylene groups with both the skin substance and the tanning agents used, can the share of the mineral (chrome, aluminum) mostly used in fur finishing Tannins are reduced so that the pelts trimmed with -oxymethylated aldehydes are added good tanning and softness are characterized by a particularly light weight. The with use Pelts made from oxymethylated aldehydes are washable. The hair has an excellent Stand and shine and can be colored well.
Well-soaked fur skins, such as B. kids, muskrat, mink or the like, are tanned as follows after picking and possibly thin cutting: 800% liquor 28 to 30 ° C., 2 g / l liquor trimethylol acetaldehyde in 2 portions with an interval of 20 minutes, 2 hours.

Addition: 2 g / l liquor potassium alum, 1 g / l liquor chrome alum or chromium acetate, 8 to 10 hours running time. The liquor is then adjusted to 4.0 to 4.2 pa over the course of 2 hours with sodium acetate and in the same bath or after draining or centrifuging the skins by spreading fat in usually greased.
