Description
Military explosive device The invention relates to a military one Explosive device, in the interior of which a separating sleeve protrudes, which carries an internal explosive charge an external one consisting of granulated explosives or an explosive mixture Explosive charge separates.
Military explosive devices such as B. Hand grenades, HE grenades, with such separating sleeves are known. The purpose of the separation sleeves can be to to prevent different substances that chemically attack each other, stand in touch. Furthermore, the filling of the explosive device is through the separating sleeve relieved.
Have in the known military explosive devices with separating sleeves but the latter also has the task of temporarily inhibiting the detonation process bring about. The separation sleeves should therefore contribute to the so-called damming.
The invention, however, is based on the object of the damming Reduce the effect of the separating sleeve to a large extent. The separation sleeve should only be used during the manufacturing process and during storage of the explosive device a separation effect of two chemically different explosive charge arrangements, one inhibitory Influence on the course of the detonation should, however, be avoided; h., it should in the detonation both explosive charge arrangements functionally despite the separating sleeve Form unity. So there is just the opposite of a damming problem.
The object set is achieved according to the invention in that the separating sleeve from a brittle at least at high loading speeds behaving material.
The use of brittle materials was admittedly for certain components of military explosive devices already proposed, but only for the external Housing jacket of a projectile body and only in connection with one of the problem according to the invention of the separating sleeve deviating.
The brittle behavior of a material manifests itself on the one hand in a particularly susceptible to breakage in the event of shock loads and on the other hand in a characteristic course of the tension-elongation curve. Is characteristic at the same time the steep rise in the tension-elongation curve that runs almost in a straight line to the breaking point and the low value of elongation at break ate.
A separating sleeve made of brittle material may therefore be used suffer fractures as soon as the explosive device hits the target, causing the intended direct contact between the inner explosive charge assembly and the outer explosive charge assembly is already established. At the moment of ignition, the two explosive assemblies form as intended, a functional unit.
However, if the explosive device hits, the separating sleeve should not break if the ignition occurs before the impact (time detonator), then it is also due to the use of brittle materials for the separating sleeve the reliable guarantee that the separating sleeve immediately after the ignition of the inner explosive arrangement breaks and in this way immediately the contact between the two explosives assemblies is produced. This is a consequence of the low Elongation at break of brittle materials. This low elongation at break causes that the separating sleeve has already been blown up by the internal explosive charge before the Back pressure of the granular substances in the peripheral space outside the separation sleeve to act can come. This counter pressure is created by the resistance of the granular substances outside the separating sleeve against compression. It is low at first, but increases quickly. So if the material of the separating sleeve does not have a low elongation at break, d. H. tough or highly elastic, then exercise the compressed substances outside the separating sleeve creates a strong counterpressure before the elongation at break is reached which delays further expansion of the separating sleeve and bursting of the same, albeit maybe just a fraction of a second. These fractions of seconds can have the consequence that before the separating sleeve is blown is, a decomposition of the outer casing occurs, which inevitably occurs leads to the fact that the external explosives arrangement only "fizzles out" with little effect or is thrown off ineffectively at all.
It is advantageous to use brittle plastics as the material for the separating sleeve to use, and here it is again expedient to use such brittle plastics select that have a relatively low tensile strength.
The plastics known as brittle have elongation at break below 10%, mainly below 5%, so z. B. ordinary polystyrene 1 to 2%, polymethacrylic acid methyl ester 40 / e. However, such plastics are also considered to be brittle within the meaning of the invention denote which show greater elongation at break under static load, at high loading speeds - this is what detonation processes are about - but have low elongation at break and the typical course of the tension-elongation curve show brittle materials such. B. hard cellulose propionate, its elongation at break with static load is 56%, with a load duration of a few milliseconds but only about 2'0 / 0.
The invention is illustrated by an exemplary embodiment with reference to the drawing explained in more detail.
The drawing shows a hand grenade in section. The one shown Hand grenade consists of the jacket 1, the detonator 2 ,, which one in the interior of the explosive device, which is enclosed by the jacket 1, with the delay set 3 and the detonator 4 carries.
B. Nitropenta). The interior of the explosive device is divided into two spaces by the separating sleeve 5 divided. The space outside the separating sleeve is occupied by the explosive charge 6. consisting of a granulated explosive (e.g. trinitrotoluene) or a granulated explosive mixture (Trinitrotoluene and ammonium nitrate). The central space within the separation sleeve contains the detonator 4 and an initial explosive charge 7, consisting of a plastic Explosives (e.g. nitropenta).
The separating sleeve 4 consists of brittle polystyrene, its elongation at break is about 1%.
In an analogous way, one can also use other military explosive devices, such as B. HE grenades, throwing grenades or the like. Separating sleeves made of brittle material arrange.
