Wie in Fachkreisen allgemein bekannt, sind die Cylinder-Trockenmaschineri so, wie sie von den Fabriken geliefert werden, im Allgemeinen nicht für jede Gewebetrocknung verwendbar. Bei gewissen Imprägnirungsmitteln für Gewebe sind die Trockencylinder wegen leicht möglicher Ueberhitzung der Gewebe überhaupt nicht verwendbar. In diesen Fällen benutzte man bisher die sogenannten Hotflues. Um jedoch den sich in der Hotflue leicht bildenden Falten und dem langsamen Trocknen in dieser Maschine aus dem Wege zu gehen, versah man die Cylinder der Trockenmaschine ganz oder theilweise mit einem Bezug, einer sogenannten Bombage, und trocknete dann auch solche Gewebe auf dieser Maschine. Durch die Bombage, welche jetzt allgemein aus Stoffen gebildet wird, indem man dieselben 4 bis 6 und mehr mal um die Trockencylinder wickelt, werden naturgemäfs die Cylinder stark isolirt, so dafs man 40 bis 60 pCt.
