Description
Depilation of hides and skins with the help of proteolytic enzymes the German patent 268 873 is known that hides and skins with the help of Pancreatic cryptase can be depilated. In the sense of this pioneering patent it became so process that the soaked pelts in a tryptase-containing liquor some Days can be treated, but only to a satisfactory hair loosening comes when the skins have been pretreated with caustic soda. An essential one The use of powdered ones meant progress compared to the above-mentioned procedure proteolytic enzymes for depilating or unrolling green or softened pelts and skins according to German patent specification 1026 038. It is also known, skins and To depilate skins in such a way that they contain inorganic neutral salts of the alkali metals and of ammonium on such hides and skins that have been pre-soaked with water and with a powder or paste-like enzyme product based on proteolytic Enzymes have been re-soaked. The addition of reducing has proven to be advantageous active, in particular oxygen-containing sulfur compounds. Also the Concomitant use of non-ionic wetting agents, in particular, in the pre-soak useful for this procedure.
Walkt man z. It has been found that the known hair-loosening effect of proteolytic enzymes which are used in the process mentioned or proposed is improved by the activating effect of o-phthalic acid, isophthalic acid and terephthalic acid in acid, hydrochloric, anhydride or imide form will. In contrast, phthalic acid derivatives containing sulfonic acid groups do not improve the hair-loosening effect of the proteolytic enzymes. Phthalimide has proven to be particularly effective. The effect observed is all the more surprising as the activators mentioned are difficult to dissolve or, like phthalimide, only dissolve in traces in the water. The activation of proteases according to the invention in the process according to patent specification 1026 038, in which the soaked pelts and hides are treated with the powdered enzyme product without the addition of water, has proven to be particularly advantageous. If you walk z. B. softened and drained Red Holstein cattle skins with 10 / (k mold protease, based on the soft weight, 15 minutes in the barrel and adds 0.1% phthalimide, the hair loosening is significantly better than that achieved with twice the amount of protease, but without Addition of an activator according to the invention is achieved. Derivatives can further improve hair loosening. For example, red-and-white cattle skins can be completely depilated after 24 hours if, after soaking and draining, they are treated with 1.8% mold protease, 0.2 ammonium sulfate, 0.5% sodium sulfite, 0 for 15 minutes after soaking and draining , 1.5% sodium chloride and 0.1% phthalimide, each based on the soft weight, was drummed ind.
If one proceeds in the sense of an earlier suggestion with the depilation for example in such a way that the soaked hides and pelts with one for the Depilation insufficient amount of a proteolytic enzyme pretreated and then inorganic neutral salts of alkalis or ammonium on the hides and skins lets act, one comes to a particularly rapid depilation, if the effect the protease by adding one of the activators according to the invention, primarily Phthalimide. The observation must be described as particularly surprising that a quick and complete hair loosening can also be achieved in this way, that the skins treated in a manner known per se with proteolytic enzymes and skins with one of the inventive Post-treated activators, be expected to be tumbled or that the action of phthalic acid or its compounds before treatment with proteases is carried out on the hides and pelts to be depilated. So you can either use the activators according to the invention directly with the Combine hair-loosening proteolytic enzyme or they can before or. leave to act on the hides and pelts after the enzymatic treatment.
In some cases, the combination of phthalic acid or terephthalic acid has proven successful with their alkali salts and / or with phthalimide, optionally with already known or proposed activators, e.g. B. reducing oxygen-containing Sulfur compounds or neutral salts, proven to be useful.
The inventive method can be in the weakly acidic, neutral or alkaline range. A p "value of 5.5 to 7.5 complied with.
As proteolytic enzymes in connection with the invention Activators can be used for dehairing hides and pelts are suitable especially the enzymes formed by microorganisms, such as mold proteases Aspergillus species or bacterial protease from z. B. Bakt. Subtilis. These enzymes will advantageously with oligases, i.e. with enzymes that only respond to disaccharides and lower Polysaccharides have a splitting effect, combined, e.g. B. with. Those contained in almond emulsin Glucosidase and galactosidases.
The modification of the procedure described, which is offered to the person skilled in the art, z. B. the use of enzyme-compatible preservatives or wetting agents that Combination of the new activators with other additives that increase the effects Depilation with powder or paste-like enzyme products and with different liquors Enzyme and activator concentrations and the like are intended as a supplement to the following Examples of procedures to be taken from the protection sought should be included.
