Die üblichen, zur Ausübung des sogenannten corqbinirten Lichtheilverfahrens geeigneten Lichtheilapparate weisen den Uebelstand auf, dafs eine Controle des Betriebes durch den Patienten selbst unmöglich ist, sofern es sich um Lichtstrahlen handelt, die von aufsen her, durch Parabolspiegl oder Linsen auf den schwitzenden Körper geworfen werden; vielmehr sorgte bisher der Badediener dafür, dafs der Patient die zum Bestrahlen mit Bogenlicht erforderliche Körperlage einnahm, und öffnete die Klappen des Apparates in der erforderlichen Anzahl. Um eine Aenderung in der Körperlage des Patienten vorzunehmen, war es erforderlich, dafs dieser den Badekasten eine Zeitlang verliefs, damit der Badediener während dieser Zeit den im Apparate befindlichen Stuhl drehen konnte. Da nun die Temperatur im Kasten 55 bis 65⁰R. mehr beträgt, wurde der Patient hierbei einem Temperaturwechsel von mindestens 30⁰ ausgesetzt, so dafs die Gesundheit der behandelten Person grofse Gefahr lief. Ein weiterer Uebelstand lag darin, dafs die Klappen nur durch den Badediener geöffnet werden konnten. Nimmt nämlich die Lichtwärme , wie es bei Anwendung von Reflectoren häufig vorkommt, plötzlich sehr stark zu, so entstehen Verbrennungsgefahren, und der Patient sitzt hülflos in dem Apparat, wenn der Badediener gerade abwesend ist. Die Gefahr aber bringt den Kranken bezw. die behandelte Person in eine derartige Aufregung, dafs schlimme Folgen damit verbunden sein können.
