Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Herstellung von Herdrohrstützen, welche zur Aufnahme und zum Tragen der rings um den Herd laufenden Messing- oder Nickelstangen dienen. Sämmtliche bis jetzt aus einem Stück Schmiedeisen bestehenden, im Gebrauch befindlichen Stützen haben den Uebelstand, dafs beim Zurechtbiegen des Eisens von kreissegmentförmigem Querschnitt in die gewünschte Form der Stütze die flache Seite des Querschnittes, welche bei der fertig gebogenen Stütze nach innen kommt, sich mehr oder weniger aufbaucht und dadurch das Durchschieben der Herdstange erschwert. Bei der vorliegenden Erfindung wird das zur Herstellung der Herdstützen verwendete Eisen α beim Walzen mit dem in Fig. 3 dargestellten Querschnitt versehen. Wie Fig. 3 zeigt, ist die gerade Seite des Segmentes α ausgespart, so dafs selbst im fertig gebogenen Zustande der Rohrstütze ein Ausbauchen nicht stattfinden kann, sondern die Aussparung r noch um einige Millimeter hinter der geraden Linie des Segmentes zurücksteht. Hierdurch wird erreicht, dafs sich das Herdgestänge sehr bequem in die Rohrstützen einführen läfst, und dafs selbst die gebogenen Ecken desselben sich sehr leicht durch diese Herdstützen führen lassen.
