Description
PATENTAMT,PATENT OFFICE,
From those diphenylamine derivatives that are obtained by reacting p-nitrochlorobenzenesulfonic acid (N O 2 : Cl: S O 3 H = 1: 4: 3) with p-amidophenol or its derivatives, such as amidophenolsulfonic acid, ρ - amidosalicylic acid the sulfo group can easily be split off by heating those compounds with dilute acids under pressure. The sulfo group can easily be split off from those diphenylamine derivatives even if they are previously reduced to the corresponding amido derivatives. Both p-oxy-p-nitrodiphenylamine-o-sulfonic acid and p-oxy-p-amidodiphenylamino-sulfonic acid or their sulfo- and carboxyl derivatives can be used in the process, and so the sulfo group in the ο-position can be used from them be split off.
The dipara-substituted diphenylamine derivatives accessible by the process are important for the extraction of dyes through the action of sulfur alkalis; with the exception of p-oxy-p-amidodiphenylamine they could not yet be represented.
Of water and about Y 2 Th. Sulfuric acid 5 to 6 hours are heated in an autoclave with agitator at 150 0 long with approximately 10 Th. After cooling, the nitrooxydiphenylamine is excreted in yellow- and brown-red crystals, which dissolve with a brownish-yellow color in dilute sodium hydroxide solution and are reprecipitated by acids.
In an analogous manner, p-nitro-o-sulfop-oxydiphenylamine-m-sulfonic acid becomes respectively - mcarboxylic acid the p-nitro-p-oxydiphenylamine-msulfonic acid respectively -m- carboxylic acid obtained. Both compounds form yellow-brown crystals, which dissolve easily with a yellow color in hot water or in alkalis.
Getrocknet bildet die freie Base ein mehr oder weniger dunkel gefärbtes Pulver, das sich leicht in Alkohol und Aether löst; beim Verdunsten einer ätherischen Lösung hinterbleiben kleine weifse Blättchen, die zwischen 157 bis 1590 schmelzen.2. 200 kg p-oxy-p-amidodiphenylamin-osulfosäure 50 kg of sulfuric acid as 66 ° and 1500 1 of water are heated with stirring for 6 hours in an autoclave at 150 0th A brown colored solution is obtained; this is filtered off from minor impurities and then allowed to cool in suitable vessels, the new body being deposited as sulfuric acid salt in gray-white crystals. If the solution is mixed with soda, the base is deposited in the form of an initially dirty white precipitate which quickly turns dark in the air as a result of oxidation. When dried, the free base forms a more or less dark colored powder which is easily dissolved in alcohol and ether; on evaporation an ethereal solution behind remain small whiteness leaflets, melting between 157-159 0th

-. 'obtained by condensation of p-Nitrochlorbenzolsulfosäure with Amidosalicylsäure and subsequent reduction. sulfuric acid of 66 ° and 3000 B. Th. of water are heated for 6 hours in an autoclave at 150 0 along with 30 Th. This gives a light brown colored solution which, when salted out, yields the sulfate of the ρ - oxy - ρ - amidodiphenylamine carboxylic acid in white crystals. If the solution is mixed with acetic acid soda, the free carboxylic acid crystallizes out in greyish-white needles which are easily dissolved with soda and precipitate again with acetic acid. With excess alkali, a lively purple color develops in the aqueous solution through oxidation in the air. -. '
The reduced condensation product of nitrochlorobenzenesulfonic acid is obtained in the same way with 'amidophenols'ulfonic acid the p-amido-p-oxydiphenylamine-m-sulfonic acid, which is easily soluble in water and, like the analogous carboxylic acid, is in alkaline solution easily oxidized in air.
