Method of making concrete mixes when considering
the inherent moisture content of the mixture components The invention relates to a
Process for the production of concrete mixes in which the inherent moisture of the
Aggregates is taken into account. The influence of the water-cement factor w on
the quality properties of concrete is now generally known. That water-cement factor
is defined as a fraction u '= W / z, in which W is the total weight of the water and
Z means the weight of the cement. As the total amount of contained in a concrete
Water is derived from the amount of water added when mixing and from the inherent moisture
of the aggregates designated amounts of water, the latter must
be taken into account when determining the water-cement factor.
In order to take into account the inherent moisture, you have previously had the
The aggregates in the storage facility are sampled once or several times a day,
whose water content is determined by some method and according to the result the
Measure the amount of water added to the mixing drum. The disadvantage of this approach is that
that not the instantaneous values of the intrinsic humidity are taken into account, but
the addition of water to the mixer is controlled depending on values,
that were significant at an earlier point in time during the elapsed time
due to the changed conditions of the environment - changed humidity of the air,
Precipitation occurred, different air temperature - but can vary widely.
According to a proposal that has become known, they are made from storage containers
the components listed in the mixer are each guided over a conveyor belt scale,
by which the slide of the container is controlled in such a way that the batch weight
of the relevant constituent of aggregates always remains constant. This
Method corresponds to the usual dosage according to weight, with which with increasing
Self-moisture a smaller amount of the component concerned is used
will.
According to an improved, also known variant of the method
the outlet cross-section from the storage containers with the help of a curve that shows the volume weight
of the constituent in question depending on its water content,
controlled and the true batch weight of the component kept constant. Through this
Although the solid mixture components are dosed independently of their moisture,
however, there is no indication or consideration of the factors to be deducted from the addition of water
Amount of water. It is an object of the invention to provide a method free from these deficiencies
for the production of concrete mixes, for which the
the respective inherent moisture content of the mixture components will be invoiced in terms of quantity
so that a specified water-cement factor can be precisely adhered to.
In the production of high-quality concrete, it is well known that the
Grain distribution of the aggregates pay attention to that for this reason
be composed of proportionally determined amounts of classified sand or gravel
have to. Since the inherent moisture content of gravel is generally neglected
can, it is usually sufficient to achieve the set goal if according to the invention
with the weighing devices assigned to the batch proportions, the intrinsic humidity
at least the components of the mixture which are practically decisive in this regard
at the same time as the batch is weighed, the water content of this is then determined
Weighed batch proportions are determined and the batch quantity required to comply with a
prescribed water-cement factor essentially required mixing water
is reduced by the sum of the determined water content. Mixture components,
The sands are the ones whose inherent moisture must be taken into account in any case.
Of course
nothing prevents it, possibly also the moisture
to determine the gravel and to invoice.
The easiest way to determine the moisture content is known per se
Way with the help of a measured constant volume of the constituent in question
be made.
Technically, it does not present any difficulties when letting the
Aggregate of a fraction into the main weighing device at the same time
small container of constant volume is also filled, which subsequently
when emptying the aggregate from the main weighing device then also itself
comes to emptying again. This little container is also on its own
equipped with a weighing device that measures the weight of the wet aggregate
notices. From knowing the one and the same fraction for the small container
constant dry weight and the actually measured weight
of the wet aggregate is the inherent moisture in the main weighing device
derived fraction amount. The read or registered values
The inherent humidity can also be checked here via a relay in the main switchboard of the mixing plant
added up and the sum obtained in this way via another relay from the one to be set
Value of the theoretical amount of mixing water to be added for completely dry aggregates
subtracted from.

III beträgt somit: Et = EI + Elf + EI" = 29,38
+ 5,22 + 64,79 = 99,39 kg.

The aggregates are to be taken from five classes of granular material, two sands (I and 1I) and three classes (III, IV and V). B. should behave like 21: 7: 36: 22: 14. Table 1 below gives the mean grain diameters of these sands and gravels. Table 1

In the first column of Table 2, the lines of which relate to the two sands and the fine gravel, the unchangeable dry weight Gt of the sand volumes determined by previous laboratory tests is entered that are delimited in the measuring containers of the weighing device that are used in the scales for determining the batch of the sand in question. The second column shows the weights Gf of the moist sand content of these volumes, the third the weights Gf-Gt of the amounts of water and the fourth the moisture 100 of the sands or fine gravel in percent. The sum of the inherent moisture content of the two sand components I and II and the fine gravel component III is thus: Et = EI + Elf + EI " = 29.38 + 5.22 + 64.79 = 99.39 kg. From the given water-cement value IVIZ = 0 , 40 the theoretically required amount of mixing water is to be determined with 0.40 - 330 = 132.00 kg. This theoretical amount of mixing water is to be reduced by the sum of the inherent humidity of 99.39 kg, so that an actual amount of mixing water of 132.00-99, 39 = 32.61 kg is required. It is noted that taking into account the amounts of water contained in the moist aggregates by no means only leads to a slight correction of the amount of mixing water resulting from dry aggregates, but to a considerably reduced value and is therefore necessary if a specified water-cement factor must be adhered to.
