Description
Process for the preparation of organoboronic acid dialkyl esters and optionally Organoboronic acids organoboranes, d. H. Compounds in which one carbon atom directly linked to a boron atom are for various uses very suitable, e.g. B. as additives for fuels for internal combustion engines and for Plasticizers. However, these compounds haven't been used very much since there are no simple, easily applicable processes for their manufacture. To now dialkyl alkylboronates were prepared by adding trialkylboranes have been subjected to regulated air oxidation. This procedure makes a careful one Control necessary to avoid dangerous explosions results in an impure Product and is due to the relatively small number of known trialkylboranes limited. Another known process for the preparation of alkyl and aryl boronic acids consists in the reaction of a metal alkyl or aryl with boric acid trialkyl esters and subsequent hydrolysis of the product obtained. The required metal alkyls are expensive, the yields are low and not reproducible, and they are used for regulation the reaction requires low temperatures. So is z. B. the reaction of phenyl magnesium bromide with boric acid tri-n-butyl ester in J. Am. Chem. Soc., 54, p. 4415 (1932), where indicated that the best yields, 50 to 60%, when working at -600 C were obtained. For the production of special organic boranes are also other methods have been used, e.g. B. the hydrolysis of dimethyldiborane for Production of methyl boronic acid. However, this procedure is only specific to this Case possible and also has the disadvantages of the other reactions mentioned above.
The aim of the present invention is to provide a new and simple method to create organic boranes through which a large number of organoboronic acid dialkyl esters and optionally organoboronic acids from relatively simple starting products can be produced.
According to the invention for the preparation of organoboronic acid dialkyl esters a compound that has at least one unsaturated carbon-carbon bond contains, reacted with a dialkoxyborane, whereby an addition takes place. the Esters can be converted into organoboronic acids by reaction with water.
It was found that the reaction with all compounds that contain a carbon-carbon double or triple bond takes place. It is noted that the benzene ring does not contain a double bond in this sense and not he responds according to the invention. Compounds that can be used are, for. B. to name: the alkenes, arylalkenes and substituted alkenes, alkynes and compounds, the carbon-carbon bonds which are unsaturated together with other functional groups contain.
In most cases the reaction takes place easily at room temperature, d. H. about 250 C, instead. Higher temperatures can also be used, and these are useful in some cases in order to achieve a faster reaction rate to enable. The temperature is of course due to the thermal stability of the corresponding reactants and the manufactured product. In in the same way, although elevated pressures can also be used, atmospheric Pressures are used except when both reactants are gaseous and no solvent is used.
The reaction of a dialkoxyborane and an unsaturated organic one Connection occurs when they are directly touched. However, it can be an inert Solvents, e.g. B. a boric acid ester or a polyethylene glycol dialkyl ether is used will.
Trimethyl borate is a useful solvent when using dimethoxyborane as a respondent is used as this is often in a solution is obtained in trimethyl borate.
The only one from the reaction of a dialkoxyborane with a one Organic compound containing carbon-carbon double bond The product is a dialkyl organoboronate of the formula R'B (OR) o, in which R 'der is an organic residue that is formed by the addition of hydrogen to the unsaturated Compound derives, and OR is the alkoxy group of the dialkoxyborane used. When a compound with a carbon-carbon triple bond reacts with a dialkoxyborane the product contains two dialkoxyboryl groups. One such The product is also a dialkyl organoboronate, which is included in the present Invention falls.
Dialkoxyboranes do not only react with unsaturated organic ones Compounds that contain double bonds, but also with those that contain a Have carbon - carbon triple bond.
It has been found here that the reaction proceeds in two stages. In the first stage, 1 mol of the dialkoxyborane is added to the triple bond. whereupon another mole of dialkoxyborane in the second stage with the adduct reacted. The second stage seems to be slower than the first, and all the constitution of the end product, i. H. whether there is one or two boronic acid dialkyl ester groups contains, at least to some extent, by the ratio of those used Reaction participants are regulated. This embodiment of the present invention is described by the following examples.

As can be seen from the above examples, this is according to the invention Process very generally applicable to all compounds which have at least one unsaturated Contains carbon-carbon bond.
The versatility is further enhanced by reactions with e.g. B. diolefins, such as 2,5-dimethyl-1,5-hexadiene, "internal" olefins, d. H. Olefins in which the terminal carbon atoms are saturated, as in 2-octene, and unsaturated Esters, such as allyl borate, illustrated. In all of these cases the reaction proceeded easily at room temperature or below and turned out to be yields received up to 85010.
So reagiert z. Although dimethoxyborane to carry out the method according to the invention is preferred as it is the most readily available dialkoxyborane can also other dialkoxyboranes can be used. This is how z. B. Diisopropoxyborane the Formula HB (OC3H7) 9 lightly with ethylene in a solution of diethylene glycol dimethyl ether, wherein 22ithylboronsäurediisopropylester is formed. In the same way you can other inert solvents can also be used, e.g. B. n-hexane and mineral oil.
The organoboronic acid dialkyl esters are generally available as additives useful for gasoline fuels for internal combustion engines. Will this be the gasoline added, the increase in the octane requirement that occurs with prolonged use is added prevented. Although its effect in this regard is not fully known, it is believed that the compounds retard the oxidation of the fuel components and inhibit the formation of resin in the engine.
Schon 0,0010/0 Organoboronsäuredialkylester zeigen eine merkbare Wirkung.Even 0.0010 / 0 organoboronic acid dialkyl esters show a noticeable effect.
The organoboronic acids can also be used as additives to fuels can be used as well as for other purposes. The hydrolysis of the dialkyl organoboronate the production of the dioxy compounds is normally done by simply adding them of water. Sometimes heating is used to speed up the reaction increase if this is at Room temperature is somewhat slow, especially in cases where more complex derivatives are to be made. Temperatures from 80 to 1000 C. are satisfactory in all cases.
Unter Organoboronsäuredialkylester werden Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel R'B (OR)2 und unter Organoboronsäuren Verbindungen der Formel R'B(OH) verstanden, wobei R für Alkylgruppen und R' für organische Reste, wie Alkyl- oder Aralkylgruppen, steht. Organoboronic acid dialkyl esters are compounds of the general Formula R'B (OR) 2 and organoboronic acids mean compounds of the formula R'B (OH), where R for alkyl groups and R 'for organic radicals, such as alkyl or aralkyl groups, stands.
