Description
Getter for heavy duty incandescent lamp The invention relates to electrical Incandescent lamps, especially heavy-duty incandescent lamps, which contain a gas trap the power supply of the luminous element is applied. The use of gas trap or Getter materials are based on the property of certain substances to produce very specific gases adsorb or absorb and thus clean a vacuum vessel from these gases. The gas residues remaining with electric light bulbs after: evacuation and that on the walls of the bulb, the lamp, the power supply lines and holders absorbed residual gas, which is released again when the lamp is operated as a harmful constituent of oxygen, its presence even in traces a very detrimental effect on the mechanical properties of the luminous element exercises and thereby greatly reduces the quality of the incandescent lamps. To prevent this, it is necessary to add a gas trap, the oxygen, to the inside of the flask energetically binds the gases used to fill the incandescent lamp, so in particular Noble gases, nitrogen and in certain cases hydrogen, but not used up.
For this purpose it is almost exclusively used in incandescent lamp technology It is common practice to apply phosphorus to the luminous element when it burns up for the first time the lamp evaporates and in a vaporous state those still present in the bulb Binds oxygen residues. The unused phosphorus is reflected in the yellow Modification in an extremely thin, well translucent layer on the bulb wall low.
It is also already known, in particular for electron tubes and other high vacuum vessels developed non-evaporating gas binders made of titanium, Zircon, tantalum, cerium, aluminum can be mixed with a binder, to be used in incandescent lamps and, for example, to cover the power supply lines with it.
The present invention aims to provide such getetters made of non-evaporating powdered metals and alloys, which is highly effective during the entire burning time of the incandescent lamp, and one suitable method for attaching the getter material that causes. that the fully automated workflow in the manufacture of incandescent lamps through the introduction of a getter is not disturbed.
The gas trap is preferably one made of zirconium, nickel, cerium, Alloy consisting of thorium and aluminum is used. It was found that these Gas traps in gas-filled incandescent lamps have a very good getter effect on oxygen if their temperature is between 250 ° and 50'0 ° C, preferably between 320 ° and 400 ° C. That is why the gas trap is at: such places inside the lamp attached, which assume this temperature during operation of the lamp, preferably at certain points of the power supply lines.
It is already known to deposit getter substances on power supply lines, But. this process happens on the already assembled and in the lamp base melted lamp frame on special machines or at least on special ones Workplaces of the lamp manufacturing machines, whereby the work flow on them High-performance machines are interrupted and delayed in a disadvantageous manner or for which the previously common machines often cannot be used at all.
In order to circumvent this disadvantage, according to the invention, a Part of the power supply later located inside the piston before the Introducing the power leads rolled out in the lamp manufacturing process, so that the rolled-out part of the power supply is given a sheet-like shape. Preferably this sheet-like extension can also be turned into a bowl, boat or tub be pressed. In .this part of the power supply designed in this way is now : the getter material attached. This is followed by the introduction of the finished molded and power supply already charged with getter material in the usual lamp manufacturing process, so that the melting of the frame into the lamp base, the melting of Foot and piston, .pumping, filling, locking and. Sockets of the lamps from the work steps necessary to bring the walker in are not interrupted and changes have to be made to the existing machines.
Fig. 1 zeigt eine Stromzuführung, wie sie z. Fig. 1 shows a power supply as it is, for. B. also for projection light bulbs is used; Fig.2 shows the same power supply after a Part of the wire has been rolled out in sheet form; Fig.3 shows a tub-shaped Formation of the rolled-out part of the power supply; Fig.4 shows the training of the rolled-out part of the power supply in the form of a boat. The one shown Power supply consists of a nickel-plated iron wire 1, which is later located entirely inside the lamp envelope, a copper clad wire 2, which is inserted into the Pinch is melted, and a copper wire 3, which is used as a power supply is connected to the socket contact.
A small part of the nickel-plated iron wire 1 is rolled out, so that a sheet-like widening 4 is created. This sheet-like part of the Power supply can, if desired, also be pressed so that about a small tub 5 or a boat 6 is created. A tab 7 can for example serve to clamp the luminous element 8.
The getter material was placed on the sheet-like widening 4 or in the containers 5 and 6 . The invention achieves a substantial increase in service life and an improvement in keeping the light output constant in the case of incandescent lamps, in particular in the case of high-performance incandescent lamps.
