Description

Drill bits for making dowel holes in concrete, masonry The invention relates to a tubular drill bit for manufacture of dowel holes in concrete, masonry or the like.

Many types of drill bits are already known. There are too such drill bits are known which have a tubular cross-section through which the Drill dust can flow off. These bits are either in the chuck of a drill clamped or inserted into a holding device. When hitting a dowel hole the holding device serves as a handle that is constantly being turned slightly back and forth while simultaneously hammering the rear end of the holding device be exercised.

The known drill bits are relatively expensive to manufacture and, like all masonry drills, are subject to very high levels of wear. If the If the drill bit is worn, it must either be reworked or it must a new drill bit can be used. Usually a new drill is taken, when the cutting edge of the previously used drill is worn.

The invention has for its object to provide a drill bit, which is so simple and cheap to manufacture that after its cutting edge is worn it will can be safely thrown away. Usually only a few have to work in a household Dowel holes are made, which involves buying an expensive drill bit the associated holding device is not worth it. For this purpose is the drill bit primarily determined according to the invention. According to the invention is the drill bit formed from a flat piece of sheet metal, which with simultaneous manufacture of the Drill cutting edge punched out of a larger plate and rolled into one Tube is shaped. The sheet is advantageously only rolled so far that in the tube a narrow, continuous longitudinal slot remains open through which a Dowel hole, the drilling dust continuously falls out. A particularly useful one Embodiment of the invention is that the flat piece of sheet metal has the shape of a has a capital L in Latin, the one leg of the L that has no cutting edge, after rolling in the other leg as a holding device when hitting one Dowel hole is used. The leg serving as a holding device can on its free The end can advantageously be designed as a screwdriver. This allows the drill bit at the same time after inserting the dowel into the dowel hole just made used as a screwdriver to screw a fastening screw into the dowel will.

The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention shown. It shows Fig. 1 in side view one formed from a steel plate Drill bit with punched out cutting edge before rolling into the pipe shape Fig.2 finished drill bit in plan view and Fig. 3 the drill bit in side view.

As can be seen from Fig. 1, for the manufacture of the drill bit According to the invention, a flat piece of sheet metal used, which is expediently the shape of a has capital Latin L. When punching out the sheet metal piece from your larger steel plate or the like, the drill bit 3 of the leg 1 is punched out at the same time. The thigh 2 is designed as a screwdriver at its free end.

According to Fig. 2 and 3, the leg 1 of the drill bit is rolled in so far that that a narrow longitudinal slot 5 remains open, from which the resulting drill dust when Making a dowel hole falls out continuously. The leg 2 serves as a holding device.
