Tight watch crown closure The invention relates to the tight closure
of watch cases with a case tube as a passage for the winding shaft and with
a winding crown, which has a hub receiving the winding shaft and around the same
has an annular recess and in the latter a sealing body.
It is known, the sealing body with its entire cylindrical inner circumferential surface
to apply tension to the corresponding outer circumferential surface of the housing tube.
By turning the crown when winding the watch or by moving it axially
for aligning the clock hands and the resulting friction on the sealing
Surfaces are those of the sealing body worn out soon so that he his
loses sealing effect and water or dust gets into the watch case and the movement
can get. It is already a seal with alternating zones of sealing system
with those without a system, but with a grease seal in the latter. This zone seal
is made up of several superimposed discs of narrower and wider
Inside diameter together. This has the disadvantage that the individual disks and thus
the whole seal has a low strength and the assembly, the painting
of the grease and the installation in the watch crown is cumbersome and expensive. The invention
brings a significant improvement in such crown sealing.
According to the invention, the zonal sealing of the watch crown by
a single seal body effects by either its own or yours
associated wall is provided with grooves that serve as a storage space for both

special circumstances.
The drawing shows two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention
shown in the same number of illustrations, which in Fig. 1 have a watch crown
show a part of the watch case in axial section, in Fig.2 a further embodiment
a watch crown seal in the same illustration.
Teil 4' hineinragt.
The ring recess forming the hub 2 in the center is in the watch crown 1
3 screwed into which the housing tube 4 with its protruding from the watch case 5
Part 4 'protrudes. In the hub 2, which in turn protrudes into the housing tube 4,
the winding shaft 6 is screwed in. In the ring recess 3 is in his
Length of the same corresponding sealing ring 7 inserted, as usual
locked in the annular recess 3 by means of the ring disk 8 blown into the crown 1
will. Around the housing tube part 4 ', as shown in FIG. 1, there are three with a small distance from one another
integrally formed bead rings 9 are arranged, the diameter of which is greater than the clear width
of the sealing ring 7 is dimensioned and thereby press into it. The between
the individual bead rings 9 resulting grooves 10 are filled with a grease 11,
which is compressed by the sealing compound defortnating into the grooves 10 and
is pressed against the sealing ring 7. These fat belts cause the
Sealing ring 7 does not become brittle, brittle and hard through aging and when turning
the crown 1 does not rub against the casing tube 4, but with the least amount of friction
slides on the bead rings 9. Besides, the compressed fat acts as a smooth one
Sealing means through which the entire surface of the housing tube part 4 'under
As little friction surface as possible is used as a sealing surface.
In Fig. 2, the outer circumference 4 ″ of the housing part 4 'is known
Way smoothly designed. According to the invention, the sealing ring 12 is attached to its inner circumference
provided with two or more grease grooves 13 arranged radially one behind the other,
the partitions 14 of which form sealing rings that are larger than theirs
Put on the inside diameter of the housing tube 4. The grooves 13 are with the grease 11
filled, by the possibility of deformation of the partition walls 14 when
Fitting the crown 1 onto the housing tube 4 is also compressed and as a compact one
Grease rings is pressed against the housing tube. Since the pressed partitions
14 of the sealing ring 12 can deform into the cavities of the grooves 13, will
no such great pressure exerted on the housing tube 4 that the contact surfaces
the seal could cause damaging rubbing.
