Der neue Schuhaufweiter besteht in der Hauptsache aus drei Theilen, einem mittleren Stück a, einem unteren, über dem Absatz angeordneten Stück c und einem oberen Spannstück für das Oberleder (b). Die Theile c und b sind an dem mittleren Theil α gelenkig befestigt, und es ist ohne Weiteres ersichtlich, dafs durch Niederdrücken des Theiles c und durch Hochdrehen des Theiles b ein Aufweiten des Schuhes erfolgen kann. Eine Schraubenspindel d erhält ihre Führung in einer Mutter g, die in den Theil α fest eingelassen ist. An dem vorderen Ende dieser Schraubenspindel d befindet sich ein keilförmiges Stück e, welches auf der oberen Seite des Theiles α Auflage findet und in eine Aussparung des Theiles b eindringt. Sobald man durch eine entsprechende Drehung der Spindel d den Theil e nach der Leistenspitze zu schiebt, findet infolge der eigenartigen Anordnung der Aussparung im Theil b ein Hochtreiben dieses Theiles b und damit ein Weiten des Oberleders des Schuhes statt.
