Drive arrangement for gyro vehicles with a gyro as energy storage
The invention relates to a drive arrangement for gyro vehicles with a gyro
as energy storage.
So-called gyro vehicles are known in which the drive
The energy required for the vehicle is taken from a gyro mounted on the vehicle
will. The gyro is mechanical with a three-phase machine of cage armature design
coupled. At the stopping points of the vehicle, the three-phase machine is connected to a
connected there existing three-phase network (fuel pumps). The three-phase machine is running
as a motor, drives the top and stores energy in it in this way. While
When driving, the same three-phase machine is used as a generator that generates its energy
to the traction motors. The traction motors are asynchronous three-phase motors. These
Drive arrangement has certain disadvantages. On the one hand, the reactive power requirement must
the three-phase machine and the three-phase traction motors from large capacitor banks
are covered, the weight of which is approximately equal to that of the drive unit and whose
Capacity depending on: the load and the changing speed of the gyro
must be changed by switching it on and off. On the other hand, the three-phase machine delivers
in generator operation, a current whose frequency changes with the speed of the gyro
and constantly decreases while driving. For the necessary speed levels
of the vehicle, a traction motor with a fixed gear ratio is not sufficient
to the wheels. In a known embodiment, there are therefore three pole-changing devices
Travel motors available, each of which has a different reduction ratio to the wheels.
For these reasons, the equipment of the vehicle becomes heavy and expensive.
It has already been proposed to supply power to the traction motors
Provide a DC machine while driving. This type of drive avoids
the disadvantages of a three-phase machine outlined above.
However, using a DC machine encounters other difficulties:
In order to achieve a high energy content in the gyroscope, high circumferential speeds are required
more than 200 m / s can be used. Thereby, however, the gas friction losses
of the top very high. The gyro was therefore placed in a housing,
which is filled with hydrogen at a pressure of 0.5 ata. Will be in such a
If a DC machine is used, there is a risk of air entering the
Housing penetrates and that the resulting oxyhydrogen gas by occasional brush fire
is ignited.
aufrechterhalten. These disadvantages are avoided according to the invention in that the
Gyroscope in a manner known per se in a housing with vacuum, one coupled with it
DC machine for feeding a DC traction motor, on the other hand, in the atmosphere
runs. By reducing the air pressure in the gyro housing to about 0.1 ata
the gas friction losses of the gyro are considerably reduced, however
a DC machine cannot work satisfactorily in such a vacuum,
because the cooling is insufficient and the behavior of the brushes and the commutator
are bad in a vacuum. Brushes and the commutator are also not accessible while this is going on
the vacuum exists. However, the invention ensures that the gas friction losses
of the gyro in the vacuum can be kept very low while the DC machine
operates under its normal operating conditions. Appropriately, between
the gyro and the DC machine a plastic shaft seal or a
Labyrinth seal arranged and the negative pressure in the centrifugal housing by a vacuum pump
maintain.
Since the shaft bushing allows as little air as possible to pass through to the vacuum
should, but this requirement cannot be met with a labyrinth seal,
oil is continuously fed to the labyrinth according to the invention. From this oil occurs as a result
its high density compared to air only slightly through the labyrinth,
so that it can easily be sucked off with a small oil pump.
