Description
Filter means The invention relates to a filter means that by precoating a mixture of organic and inorganic fibers and synthetic fibers and for the filtration of liquids, especially beverage liquids, should serve. Previously known filter media have the disadvantage that they are the same The filter effect is not always uniform in terms of the filtration rate Values. One therefore has in the case of filter media, which result from an alluvial layer of fibrous materials consist of the constituent part of organic fibers through synthetic fibers of a certain uniform length replaced. This results in a good cohesion as well the filter layers made from these materials also have a certain uniformity in terms of filter performance, but this still leaves something to be desired.
It has now been found that the strength of the synthetic fibers one has a significant influence on the quality and performance of the filter layer. When using relatively strong fibers, for example over 1 mm, the distribution is too imprecise, and fibers of this strength are not suitable with the other organic and especially inorganic fibers a uniform and well matted structure to go. On the other hand, if you use synthetic fibers with a Strength that is 10 or less is then obtained along with the other organic ones and inorganic fibers have a uniform alluvial surface and as a result an even filter performance. Thorough mixing of these components results in a uniform extending over the entire filter layer evenly Pore size, and entanglement, especially with the fine inorganic fibers. z. B. Asbett, is particularly strong, so that the layer produced in this way also mechanically is resilient. It is advantageous if the fiber length of the plastic fibers with that of the other fibers in the mixture, but result also the beneficial effects of the fine synthetic fibers when relating to them their length differ from the remaining part. The middle lengths - accordingly the counting method according to B quite determined - of all fibers to be used should are below 1.5 mm, but this does not exclude that a certain proportion of these Length exceeds.
