Numerous attempts have been made to produce magnetically soft iron by sintering, the coercive force of which is below the maximum permitted value of H c = 1.5 Oersted (Oe) and the required induction value of 15,000 Gauss at an excitation of 20Oe and a saturation magnetization of 19,000 Gauss. Up to now, attempts have been made to achieve these values by using as pure carbonyl iron powder as possible as the starting material. However, the aforementioned values could only be achieved with carbonyl iron with strong rolling deformation (cold rolling) and subsequent heat treatment. The magnetic iron produced in this way is practically only available in sheet metal form and is also very expensive due to the high price of pure carbonyl iron powder. Apart from this, the sheet metal shape does not meet the requirements for numerous applications, especially not when iron bodies of a very complicated shape, e.g. B. with relays, are required.
The present invention relates to a magnetically soft sintered body which is free from rolling deformation meets the above conditions. It consists of 'an iron powder with a content of non-ferrous metals below and above 0.01%. As non-ferrous metals come z. B. copper, nickel, Chromium or manganese in question.
While it was previously assumed that the magnetic properties, as they are placed on a soft magnetic material, are all the more favorable the purer the starting iron powder used, the present invention is based on Realization that it is possible with starting iron powders that contain low levels of non-metallic impurities, z. B. copper, nickel, chromium or manganese, contain, to produce sintered bodies that have the above, to meet the conditions to be placed on a soft magnetic material. Such powders are much cheaper than the previously preferred carbonyl iron powder. There come z. B. the proportionate cheap pressure atomizing iron powder made by atomizing molten scrap in Question that, in addition to other minor metallic impurities, generally have a copper content of 0.1 to 0.15%. Such a percentage of impurities is according to the invention for achieving particularly suitable for the properties required of a soft magnetic body.
The manufacturing method of the soft magnetic sintered body according to the invention is based on the following Example explained:

A temperature of 600 ° C. has proven to be particularly advantageous. The powder was then pressed into the final shape in a die under a pressure of 6 t / cm 2 and sintered for 5 hours at a temperature between 1000 and 1300 ° C. in a hydrogen atmosphere. The sintered body was then re-compacted (calibrated) cold with a compression pressure of 6 t / cm 2 and then subjected to re-sintering for 1 hour under the same conditions as before. The sintered body produced in this way had the following magnetic data:
H0 = 0,78 bis 0,80 Oe;
Induktion bei 20 Oe =16000 Gauß; Sättigungsinduktion bei 200 Oe = 19 000 Gauß;
Alterung = 0 bis 0,3 Oe. H 0 = 0.78 to 0.80 Oe;
Induction at 20 Oe = 16,000 Gauss; Saturation induction at 200 Oe = 19,000 Gauss; Aging = 0 to 0.3 Oe.
The aging was determined by storage for 100 hours at a temperature of 100 ° C. It has proven to be useful to put the starting powder in a reducing powder before the heat treatment Pre-treatment atmosphere in a weakly oxidizing atmosphere, preferably in nitrogen Water vapor content (partial pressure about 20 Torr) to perform.
Man erkennt daraus, daß durch die Vorbehandlung eine größere Steilheit der Magnetisierungskurve beiThe drawing shows the magnetization curve of two sintered bodies according to the invention. The field strength H in Oe is plotted on the abscissa and the magnetic induction B in Gauss is plotted on the ordinate. The solid curve corresponds to a sample in which the aforementioned pretreatment has been carried out, the dashed curve corresponds to a sample with untreated starting powder. It can be seen from this that the pretreatment increases the steepness of the magnetization curve
