Description
DEUTSCHESGERMAN
The invention relates to a pattern roller, as it is preferably used for decorating walls and Ceilings used for interiors. The known pattern rollers consist of a solid wooden core with an elastic pad on a layer of sponge rubber or foam and a seamless pattern coat that surrounds the wood core on the front sides Little overlaps. In order to achieve a good run in the holding device and the penetration of To make moisture more difficult, the pattern rollers are covered with round metal sheets on the front side. As axes metal pins are hammered into the wooden core. These known pattern rollers have many disadvantages, z. B. the solid wood core is very heavy and very susceptible to moisture because of its structure Rolling does not allow a complete seal. There have therefore been developed pattern rollers, which instead of a Wood core have a tube as the core and in which the axle pin is firmly pressed into a bearing washer is, which in turn is pressed into the tube in the manner of a bottle cork. These newer ones However, rollers also have the disadvantage that despite the overlap of the pattern jacket on the end faces Moisture penetrates between the sample jacket and the pipe and the upholstery layer becomes encrusted and decomposed. In order to achieve a good seal, the space between the sample jacket and the core tube would have to be on the side be closed homogeneously with an elastic skin. With regard to those in paints and Inks containing solvents and plasticizers are commonly used as pattern rollers made of polyvinyl chloride made with a high plasticizer content. This material can not be reliably glued, and the Constant flexing of the roller prevents any such attempt. Gluing is only possible if the joint is under constant pressure and is not mechanically stressed. The welding a skin to seal the end faces has also proven impracticable because in the process, the thin sample jacket is deformed and damaged and, moreover, a weld between the tube made of metal or hard plastic is not possible. The identified shortcomings are remedied by the present pattern roller. It is shown in the drawing in three exemplary embodiments.
Figs. 1 to 3 each show a longitudinal section in outline.

On the core tube made of light metal. Hard paper or other suitable material is a Cover 5 made of sponge rubber or foam is applied as padding and over it the sample coat 1 made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Der nach innen eingezogenethe identified deficiencies are corrected by the fact that the sample jacket 1, which is formed from one piece, laterally, d. H. on, the end wall 6 is drawn inward and forms a fold. The one drawn inwards
Durch diese Maßnahmen wird eine völlig gleichmäßige Elastizität der ganzen Musterwalze erreicht.so part of the sample jacket 2 is slightly in diameter kept smaller than the outer diameter of the core tube 3, so that it rests under tension, that is is constantly under pressure and can therefore be reliably glued to the pipe, especially on this There is no flexing at the glue point. The bond is also safe because not as with Old style pattern rollers PVC must be glued to PVC, but PVC to metal or hard paper. Bonding PVC to PVC is always unsafe because the material contained in this material Plasticizer migrates into the adhesive. To date, no adhesives have been found that have one enable homogeneous connection as with rubber solution, but there are only so-called pressure-sensitive adhesives that act mainly through adhesion. The end wall 6 would have a certain stiffening to the Bring the edges of the roller so that the pattern roller is more elastic in the middle than at the edges would. In order to remedy this deficiency, it is provided, first, that between the cushion insert 5 and the end wall 6 a free space is left, as the drawings show, and secondly that the end wall 6 is formed all around with a kink 7 inward. Through these measures one becomes completely uniform elasticity of the entire pattern roller achieved.
Auf dem Rohr 3 dagegen ist eine ver-Another embodiment is shown in FIG. The sample jacket 1 is left open on the front sides. For this purpose, the specially made profile ring 9 is inserted between the sample jacket 1 and the pipe 3. This profile ring can be welded to the sample jacket using a method known per se because there is a sufficiently broad and strong print run. On the other hand, there is a

In Fig. 3, a further embodiment according to the present invention is shown, in which on the Ends of the core tube 3 a ring 10 made of elastic PVC material with only a little plasticizer underneath strong tension is glued on. This ring is on the front sides by welding a thin Skin made of PVC material with a low content of plasticizers, homogeneously bonded. A welding is in this case possible due to the small distance between the pipe and the sample jacket.
It has been shown that with the pattern rollers in the embodiments shown and described neither Moisture can penetrate into the interior, nor can the trapped air be pushed outwards, whereby a pneumatic, highly elastic effect is achieved.
