Abstract

Bei einer Hubkolbenbrennkraftmaschine wird in den Zylindern ein brennbares Kraftstoffgemisch mit Kraftstoff und Frischgas gebildet, wobei die Zuführung des Frischgases durch Einlaßkanäle und die Abführung von Verbrennungsabgasen durch Auslaßkanäle erfolgt, welche von Einlaßventilen und Auslaßventilen freigebbar sind, die zur Durchführung des Ladungswechsels von einem Ventiltrieb angesteuert werden. In einem Teil des Lastbereiches der Brennkraftmaschine ist eine Betriebsart mit Fremdzündung (Otto) vorgesehen mit Gemischzündung durch eine Zündkerze. In einem anderen Lastbereich wird die Brennkraftmaschine mit einer Kompressionszündung (RZV) des Gemisches betrieben, bei welcher die Steuerung der Gaswechselventile derart verändert wird, daß Verbrennungsabgase im Brennraum zurückgehalten und beim folgenden Arbeitsspiel des Zylinders an der Frischgemischbildung teilnehmen.
