Abstract

Device for activating a security system in a vehicle comprises a vehicle sensor (4) having a first direction of sensitivity (7.1) for a measuring value sensor for detecting acceleration and a second direction of sensitivity (7.2) for a measuring value sensor for detecting structure noise. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Diagnostic unit of a vehicle containing the above device; and (2) Process for activating a security system in a vehicle. Preferred Features: The device has a further vehicle sensor for sending signals to a central unit (2). The two directions of sensitivity are almost the same. The first direction of sensitivity and the second direction of sensitivity are aligned at an angle of 90[deg] to each other.
