Netzelementen, Routern, werden auftretende Lücken zwischen IP-Datenpaketen mit Nutzdateninhalt durch Füllpakete aufgefüllt. Durch Auswertung der Ankunft gültiger Datenpakete ist eine schnelle Fehlererkennung mit Echtzeitanforderung auf dem Übertragungsweg gegeben.
