Abstract

The work station (10) is assembled of two processing areas (20.1, 20.2) and a third non-functional area (20.3). The work-piece is positioned on top of a palette and guided along twin rails (33, 34) with a straight central stretch and curved outer areas by a chain. The transitional areas between the processing segments (20.1, 20.2, 20.3) are bridged by two joint elements with the same cross section as the rails (33, 34). For an exchange of the processing area (20.1, 20.2, 20.3) the chains are separated by removing transversal elements and pulling them from the chains with a special device (60). The bridge elements are removed, the processing areas (20.1, 20.2, 20.3) exchanged and the elements returned to their prior position.
