Abstract

The passenger seats in a vehicle are equipped with backrests (14) to be folded over to the front in order to provide a larger storage area. After a particular backrest (14) has been transferred into a horizontal position by using the appropriate mechanism, the headrest (12) can be pulled to the front exposing a small plane area at the back of the support element (18) to be used for the positioning of a cup or a drinking bottle. A similar arrangement can be integrated in an armrest.
