Abstract

The engine has a fuel injection pump element (1) and gas exchange valves. The pump piston (5) and the valves are each connected to a control unit and a spring unit with two pressure springs to generate opposite movements. The springs (8,12) are positioned behind each other and switched in series, and are wound in opposite directions. An intermediate plate (9) between the springs has pref. ring flanges (10,11) facing in direction of the springs. The springs have the same dimensions, and mainly the same spring data and forces.
