Abstract

Es wird eine Zündkerze (10) vorgeschlagen, die ein Gehäuse (21) und ein in dem Gehäuse (21) angeordneten Isolator (31) umfasst. Der Isolator (31) weist eine Längsbohrung (32) mit einer Längsachse (33), eine in der Längsbohrung (32) ds Isolators (31) angeordneten Mittelelektrode (51), eine erste Masseelektrode (61), die sich bis in den Bereich der Längsachse (33) des Isolators (3) erstreckt, und mindestens eine zweite Masseelektrode (71, 72), die beabstandet von der Längsachse (33) des Isolators (31) seitlich neben der Mittelelektrode (51) angeordnet ist, auf. Die Mittelelektrode (51) umfasst einen ersten Bereich (91) und einen zweiten Bereich (92), wobei der erste Bereich (91) ein Edelmetall oder eine Edelmetalllegierung enthält und der zweite Bereich (92) einen Anteil an Nickel von mindestens 90 Masseprozent aufweist.
