Material (A) contains a silver colloid (SC) of diameter 5-30 nm and has silver content 0.1-20 wt.%. An independent claim is also included for a method for preparing (A). ACTIVITY : Antibacterial; Fungicide; Virucide; Herbicide. In halo inhibition tests, (A) is effective against Escherichia coli; Aspergillus niger; Pseudomonas aeruginosa; Candida albicans and Staphylococcus aureus but no figures are quoted. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
