Anschließend wird die Kugel mit der Pfanne in Eingriff gebracht und der Operateur kann durch mehrfaches probieren mit Probeadaptern unterschiedlicher Länge die Feinkorrektur der Halslänge ermitteln. Nun werden Probeadapter und Probesteckkopf entfernt und der so ermittelte zum Verbleib bestimmte definitive modulare Steckkopf mit Adapter entsprechender Länge eingesetzt. Bei Hüftgelenkrevisionen wird aufgrund von Verschleiß oder Lockerung der Austausch der vorhandenen Erstversorgung notwendig, wobei der modulare Steckkopf vom Metallkonus des implantierten Schaftes der Endoprothese abgezogen wird und ein anschließender Neuaufbau mit gleichzeitiger Korrektureinstellung des Halslängenausgleiches erfolgt. Für die optisch bessere Wahrnehmung ist der verschiebbare Konus mit einer Positionsskala ausgestattet auf der die für den Patienten optimal einzustellende Länge des Collum femoris abgelesen werden kann. In den Stellflächen (8), die zum Verdrehen des Probekugelkopfes (1) vorgesehen sind, sind zu beiden Seiten Gewindebohrungen (9) eingebracht, über die in einfacher Weise die optimale Länge fixiert werden kann.
