Eine Abdeckung schließt den ringförmigen rotierenden Rahmen oben so ab, dass beispielsweise eine Laufsohlenreinigung mit angezogenen Schuhen nur an den Schuhspitzen möglich ist. In der DE 100 65 702 A1 ist es ein rotierender Reinigungskörper, der ebenfalls einen Antrieb enthält. Aufgrund einer einseitigen Lagerung der Achse ist eine Positionsänderung des Bürstenkörpers in Schräglage gegeben und ermöglicht dadurch eine bessere Zugänglichkeit für eine zusätzliche Laufsohlenreinigung. Zur Schuhreinigung in diesem Reinigungssystem rotieren zwei Polierelemente auf einer horizontalen Achse.
