Beschreibung der Erfindungdescription the invention
1) Klimakomfort Polsterverbund:1) Climate comfort upholstery composite:
- a) The air inlet in the upholstery arrow is located on the bottom. The air transport from the upholstery bottom to the upholstery top can be carried out in various ways:
- i) One or more vertical air outlets connect vertically upholstered top and bottom. The air outlets may be designed as round channels, which are formed in the foaming process, or be punched subsequently. The vertically opening into the surface channels need no additional support, since when a person sits a small forces acting on the channel walls and thus no cross-sectional change of the channel takes place. If the ventilation field on the cushion surface is subdivided by trenches into several fields resulting from reference transverse stitching, then each field must be provided with at least one air passage.
- ii) A continuous air drawn over the foam core air distribution layer creates the air connection of the upholstered top and bottom. This can be achieved by a mat-like layer which is struck over the front surface or rear side surface of the cushion core, so that upper, lower distribution layer and air connection are realized in one component. The cushion core is rounded so that even when a person sits, the ventilation layer can not buckle and thus the air flow is hindered or interrupted.
- b) There are two design options for the lower air distribution layer:
- i) The layer is formed by a sheet material. This results in large cross-sections for the air line at the same time low depth, typically 5mm to 15 mm. This layer can be a spiral mat, which results from the gluing of the spirals on a textile support medium. The carrier may face the foam core or the seat structure.
- ii) One or more channel trenches formed on the underside of the foam, which run parallel to the underside of the foam, are supported by spirals against collapse when they are seated. The channels may run in parallel or, starting from a center where the fan is located, lead in a star shape to the various padded areas. The channel shape can be formed semicircular, rectangular or trapezoidal.
- c) There are several design possibilities for the upper air distribution layer facing the passenger:
- i) The layer is formed by a spiral structure mat. The spiral mat is created by gluing the spirals on a textile carrier medium. The carrier may face the foam core or the seat structure.
- ii) The layer is formed by one or more layers of spacer fabric. The knitted fabric is produced by punching to the desired contour of the ventilation field.
- iii) The layer consists of a flat-shaped rubber hair body, a bristle mat or other air-throughflow materials
- iv) The cushion core has a textured, knobbed surface, or an additional molded foam portion having a textured surface is adhered to the foam body. The molded foam part can be made of reticulated (open-celled, air-permeable) foam. The structure can then also point to the foam core. This achieves a lower sign of the structure on the reference surface. The structuring can be produced by embossing the foam or by material removal (milling).
- d) The ventilation of the seat contact surface using the pad element described above can be implemented as follows:
- i. A fan is attached to the upholstery bottom and inflates into the lower air distribution layer. The fan may be attached to the seat structure or paddle itself. The lower ventilation layer has an air inlet opening.
- ii. The lower ventilation layer has an air inlet opening and the upper layer has a concealed air outlet opening. This can not be visibly and noticeably mounted between the back and seat cushion for the passenger, or be incorporated into the backrest cover and thus directed to the rear passenger. The air flow under the seat contact surface is created by natural convection, which arises in the manner of a chimney by heating the air in the upper layer. The heating takes place through the body heat of the passenger, who goes over to the seat cushion.
- iii. Like ii), however, the heating of the air in the upper distribution layer is caused by a heating medium incorporated in the layer. The heating of the air causes a larger temperature difference to the ambient air and thus a stronger convection. In addition, the warm air is more moisturizable.
- iv. Like ii), however, the heating of the air in the upper distribution layer occurs due to the heating of the seat surface due to solar radiation during vehicle standstill. In addition, the upper Luftverteilschicht acts heat-insulating, so that the cushion core heats up less. A heating of the sunlit upholstery core has a thermophysiologically disadvantageous effect on the passenger when driving, since heat is supplied to the body from the thermal mass of the foam and the seat structure over a long period of time. To 1) d) i) Connection of the fan to the lower air distribution layer
- w) On the underside of the air distribution layer is an air inlet opening in the spacer medium. The opening corresponds in cross section to the air outlet opening of the fan. In the spiral structure mat, the opening is formed by a cutout in the cover layer, which is optionally supported by a frame or a grid to protect the fan rotor.
- x) The fan is attached to the end face of the distribution layer. An adaptation adapts the cross-sectional shape of the fan outlet to the planar inlet in the distribution layer. Preferably, for fluidic reasons, a radial fan is used, which has a narrower outlet such as an axial fan and that of un blown air sucked in by 90 °
- y) The spiral structure mat opens into a widening connecting channel, which is supported by circular spirals with increasing diameters. The inlet opening at the end of the channel corresponds in cross section to the air outlet opening of the fan.
- z) like y), however, the channel is formed by the continuation, expansion and interweaving of the spirals from the spiral structure mat
- e) The dehumidification of the seat surface can be enhanced by a moisture buffer in the upper spacer medium. This has an advantageous effect in the case of the entry of a heavily sweaty person, since moisture or steam arising on the seat contact surface is absorbed quickly by the upholstery. Due to the ventilation and heating of the pad, the buffer is continuously emptied. The buffer can be introduced into the layer in the following way:
- i. Filling the spiral interspaces or spiral interiors with moist-adsorbing granules, eg of activated carbon
- ii. Pollination of the spiral surface of moisture-wicking powder. Adhesion of the powder by melting the spiral surface or adhesive coating
- iii. Moisture absorbing fleece top layer of the spiral mat.
- f) The air distribution layers must be connected to the cushion core to prevent slippage of the layers during assembly (upholstery) and seat use. The compound can be prepared as follows:
- i. The distribution layer can be introduced in the foam molding process (foaming). This allows us to achieve a full-surface adhesion of the layer. A separating layer of film or dense textile prevents the penetration of the liquid foam in the manufacturing process and keeps the channels (spiral channels) open. The release layer can replace the downwardly facing carrier layer of the spiral mat completely or partially. The fan inlet opening is located in the region of the edges of the upper mold foam tool and is kept free in the foaming process by a cover or is guided in the manner of a snorkel from the foam tool.
- ii. The distribution layer is introduced in the form of a mat, which is inserted into recesses of the foam core. The depressions form a negative of the outer shape of the mat. The positive locking prevents the mat from slipping.
- iii. Attached to the foam core are holders in the form of claws, hooks or hook-and-loop fasteners. These mounts are preferably attached or foamed to the foam core by the foam molding process. The brackets engage the microstructure of the distribution layer or the spiral ribbons.
- iv. The distribution layer is attached to the foam core by an adhesive bond
- v. The carrier layer facing the foam surface has a contour projection to the spacer medium. The protruding edge of the textile or film-like layer is bonded to the foam core with a bond.
2) Eingeschäumtes Heizungs- und Klimatisierungsmodul2) Foamed heating and air conditioning module
- i. A heating medium is connected flat with a spacer medium. The composite covers the upper, passenger-facing side of a molded foam core. The heating medium forms the outer, facing the surface layer. Preferably, the comfort composite is introduced into the manufacturing process within the mold foam, thereby creating a stable, glue-free and full-surface connection.
- ii. Like i), however, the heating medium is an integral part of the spacer medium.
- a) The spacer medium is a pliable material with high compression hardness and high resilience, so that when a passenger occupies defined free spaces are maintained. Nevertheless, the medium should be able to easily adapt to any contour in the foam and be able to pass on pressure loads without distribution to the foam, so that the seating comfort is not impaired by the medium.
- iii) The layer consists of a flat-shaped rubber hair body, a bristle mat or other air-throughflow materials.
- b) heating element
- i) The flat heating medium is connected to the spacer medium with an adhesive layer in a lamination process. Preferably, a thermally or superheated steam-activated adhesive fleece is used. The flat heating medium consists of
- - Heating conductor, which is laid on a flat support and glued
- - Network of parallel carbon fibers, which is applied in a sewing-knitting process on a textile support.
- - Metallic coating on carrier foil
- - Heating medium of conductive plastic layer. The plastic is characterized by a decrease in specific conductivity with increasing temperature (PTC). The heating current flows between two electrode layers perpendicular to the surface of the pad. As a result, the heat output can be regionally different depending on the heat dissipation.
- ii) The heating medium is introduced as a heating element in the distance medium.
- 1. The heating element is laid between the spirals and secured by gluing to the carrier layer
- 2. The heating conductors are pulled through the spirals and then come to rest without additional attachment
- 3. The heating conductors are led over a loop to the nearest spiral. This creates a meandering laying of the heating element.
- 4. The loops may be fixed to the support by adhesive dots at the inflection points or held on an adhesive sheet on a protruding edge of the support.
- 5. The thermoplastic surface of the spirals made of thermoplastic material can be melted by heat input. The heat input can be made by irradiation, hot air or heating the ladder itself. As a result, adhesive dots are created at the contact points of the conductor to the spiral, which provide for hardening of the thermoplastic for a mechanical connection.
- 6. The heating conductors may have a sheath which serves as scuff protection.
- c) The connection of the distance medium to the foam can be designed in the following way:
- - The distribution layer can be introduced in the foam molding process (foaming). A supernatant of the release layer also protects the lateral edges of the spacer medium. The supernatant can be beaten to the Abstandme medium and fixed at the top.
- - The entire comfort component is inserted into the foam mold and fixed against slipping in the foam process. The separating layer points to the foam core.
3) Spiral-Strukturmatte mit aufgefülltem Zwischenräumen3) Spiral structure mat with padded interspaces
Ein

wie folgt gestaltet sein:
Die Komfortschicht wird durch eine
Spiralstrukturmatte gebildet. Die Spiralmatte entsteht durch das Verkleben
der Spiralen auf einem textilen Trägermedium. Der Träger kann

thermoplastischem Material erfolgen.A molded foam part with comfort layer in the region of the seat contact surface can be designed as follows:
The comfort layer is formed by a spiral structure mat. The spiral mat is created by gluing the spirals on a textile carrier medium. The carrier may face the foam core or the seat structure. The gluing of the spirals to the carrier can be done by melting the bands of thermoplastic material.
The Spiral structure mat is a flexible medium with high distance compressive strength and large recovery behavior, so that when Sitting in a passenger defined free spaces will be preserved. Yet the medium of each contour in the foam can easily adapt and Pass on pressure loads without distribution on the foam. In order to the comfort of the upholstery is not affected by the medium.
- i) Kügelchen aus wärmeisolierendem Styropor/Polystyrol.
- a) The filling consists of balls, flakes or granules. Suitable filling materials are:
- i) pellets of heat-insulating Styrofoam / polystyrene. As a result, a lower heating of the foam core Sonnenein radiation is achieved in vehicle standstill. The heat stored in the cushion core has a thermophysiological disadvantage when driving for the passenger. The upper layer is also heat-insulating in winter conditions, so that less body heat is conducted to the foam core in the cold vehicle seat.
- ii) moisture-wicking granules, eg activated carbon, for improving the comfort of the seating climate
- iii) Recycled foam flakes for good cushion comfort and resilience
- iv) granulated foam mixture for good cushion comfort, resilience and improved seat climate comfort
- v) Animal and vegetable natural fibers to improve the seating climate comfort and thermi comfort
- b) The free spaces in the spiral mat can be used to accommodate sensors
- - Pressure sensors for seat occupancy detections. These are, if they are formed like a film, preferably arranged under the spiral mat. The spiral mat has the property to forward the pressure information directed downwards. The sensors are thus protected from damage that may occur during seat-related installation by sitting use.
- - Temperature sensors for seat heating, climate controls
- - Moisture sensors for the control of seat air conditioning
- - Thermostats for seat heaters
- - Control switches or pressure sensors for operating seat adjusters and other electro-mechanical comfort elements
- c) The free spaces in the spiral mat can be used to accommodate actuators, such as massage motors
- d) The free spaces in the spiral mat can be used to accommodate cables. The cables are thereby protected against damage during assembly and seat use. Furthermore, the lines are not noticeable to the user and do not stand out in the course of use on the cushion surface.
- - Heating conductor
- - Round cable for the supply of seat heaters, seat adjusters
- - Ribbon cables for the supply of seat heaters, seat adjusters
- - Supply hoses for pneumatic seat adjusters
- - Fluid-carrying hoses for seat heating and seat cooling
- e) Installation of the comfort layer: A layer drawn continuously over the foam core creates a connection between the top and bottom of the cushion. This can be achieved by a mat-like component which is struck over the front surface or rear side surface of the cushion core. The upholstery core is rounded so that even when a person sits, the layer can not buckle and therefore cables routed in the layer (see d)) can be damaged. Furthermore, the cable routing is hidden and neither visible nor noticeable to the user.
- f) The support layers for the spiral medium may have the following properties:
- - The cover layer is formed by a textile medium or foam, so that a tracing the Füllgranulats, the lines, the sensors or the spirals itself is prevented to the cushion surface. The top layer may be coarse mesh or open cell, but the granules should not be able to penetrate the top layer even when the seat is in use.
- - The cover layer can be vapor permeable and water-repellent, to protect lying under the layer of media and components from penetrating liquid while maintaining the climate comfort of the seat.
- - For the cover layer, all materials are suitable which additionally improve the cushioning properties of the seat and the feel of the upholstery surface: nonwovens, textiles, foams, foils. Restrictions in the selection arise through the implementation of an adhesive bond to the spiral medium.
- - Translucent films in conjunction with a perforated reference surface and a luminous medium in the seat allow illumination of the cushion surface. The illumination can serve for a visualization of the control element position, sensor position and the functional state of a comfort element. The lighting also achieves a visual enhancement of the seating design.
- g) replacement of the entire cushion by spiral structure medium The geometric and constructive freedoms of the spiral structure allow a substitution of the entire foam core. The application of several spiral layers, large spiral cross sections, intertwined spirals, the construction of a voluminous molded body is achieved. The thermoplastic deformability makes it possible to process the surface profile as the last production step.
When backing the spiral medium 3 f), the composite of fabric and Unterwaren itself be used. Thus, the entire seat cushion is composed of Upholstery core, cover and spring suspension replaced by a structural unit.
