Abstract
A connecting pipe fitting (5) is deformed by explosive pressure. The fitting may be of metallic or non-metallic material, or may have a similar sealing surface coating on its surfaces facing the tube ends (2) to be connected. The counter pressure body (1) is a mechanical part to be re-used, or it may be of a material, which permits single use only, and there is a seal (7) between the body and the fitting. The surface of the counter pressure body facing the explosive pressure may be smooth, ribbed, grooved, etc. The explosive used for the forming process may be of any shape or size.
