Abstract

The assembly comprises a foot plate (31) and a linear base plate (41) that has a shaft (51) mounted on one end for holding a beater. The base plate lies on the floor. The foot plate is hinged on the base plate near one end and overlies the base plate. The shaft is formed of two linear portions (52,53) connected by a curved portion (54) to form a bent shaft that extends in a single plane. The first portion is hinged to the base plate. The second portion has a channel (58) for holding the handle of the beater. The shaft has a bearing surface (56) fitted down the side of the shaft facing the foot plate. A bearing (61) contacts the foot plate to the shaft. The bearing includes a ball bearing with an outer contact surface (63). The ball bearing is enclosed in a housing (62) fixed to the foot plate. The shaft is urged in a rearward direction by a spring (71) in order to return the beater form the drum head and back to its initial position.

1. Pedal arrangement for percussion instrument, comprising:
a basic element;
