Description
Technisches GebietTechnical area
The invention relates to a display device and a method for producing a display device for a vehicle that can be operated with a muscle and/or engine.
Stand der TechnikState of the art
Bicycles, in particular Pedelecs or S-Pedelecs, usually have at least one display device that provides information about the condition of the bicycle.
In general, solutions for producing such display devices are known. Displays for display devices are usually mounted in such a way that they are protected by a transparent cover plate. Solutions for attaching displays to lenses are also known. There are essentially two manufacturing processes. The first variant involves attaching the display using a transparent adhesive film (so-called optical clear adhesive). A second variant involves attaching the display by placing it in a liquid adhesive that hardens transparently. This type of manufacturing requires a frame or dam that must be applied in a frame shape around the lens. The frame is applied sequentially and must be carried out for each display device.
Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention
The display device according to the invention for a vehicle operated with muscle and/or motor power, preferably a bicycle, particularly preferably a pedelec or S-pedelec, comprises a housing part, a lens and a display.
The housing part is to be understood in particular as an upper housing part. The upper housing part is the counterpart to a lower housing part. The upper housing part is placed on the lower housing part and sealed against dirt and weather influences. The upper and lower housing parts together form a housing which has a housing space for the lens, cables and other electronics, in particular the display of the display device.
The lens primarily serves to protect the electronic component display, which is thus protected against environmental influences, in particular against mechanical influences or weather influences. For example, the lens is milled from transparent plate material and specifically adapted to the upper housing part. The lens is connected to the housing part, preferably glued or welded. The connection between the upper housing part and the lens is designed in such a way that it protects the interior of the housing against the ingress of dust, dirt and weather influences.
The display is attached in particular to the underside of the lens. In order to avoid the air gap that creates reflections (so-called airgap bonding) between the lens and the display, the display is attached to the lens over its entire surface.
In a further embodiment, the upper housing part can be manufactured in a continuous operation with the lens. The upper housing part is produced in a first operation using a first material. The lens is produced in a further operation using a second material that is different from the first material and is transparent. The connection between the lens and the upper housing part is inseparable and is produced, for example, by a primary molding process, preferably by injection molding. In other words, the upper half of the housing and the lens form a unit that was created in one setup. It is not important whether the lens is framed by the upper housing part or, for example, takes up the entire length and width of the upper housing part and thus covers it.
The display connected to the lens can be, for example, a liquid crystal display (LCD), a segment display, an LED display or the like. be. Alternatively or additionally, the display can include indicator lamps, preferably LED lamps. The display is used to show information, e.g. the charge status of the battery, the current speed or the remaining range of the battery.
Optical Clear resin (OCR).In all of the embodiments listed, the display is connected to the lens using a first adhesive. A first adhesive can be an adhesive that is liquid at the time of processing. This first adhesive is transparent when cured. The first adhesive should be understood as an optically clear plastic, for example so-called optical clear resin (OCR).
The housing part of the display device according to the invention has a frame surrounding the display, which delimits a receiving area of the first adhesive and is formed in one piece with the housing part. Starting from a display area of the display, the surrounding frame extends into a housing in the direction of view be the display device, preferably from 0.5 mm to 6 mm, particularly preferably from 1 mm to 5 mm. The first adhesive can be introduced into the receiving area in a process-safe manner during the production of the display device in the form of a liquid adhesive. It is particularly advantageous here that the frame, which delimits a receiving area of the first adhesive, and the housing part are formed in one piece. In other words, the frame is an integral part of the housing part. The housing part can be produced in one operation by primary molding, preferably injection molding.
In one embodiment, the frame can be designed in multiple stages, preferably in two stages. In particular, the frame has a first height in a first stage and a second height in a second stage and a defined height in each further stage. The heights of the individual steps are different from each other. The wall thickness of the first stage may be the same as or different from the wall thickness of the second stage. Furthermore, it is conceivable that a step is made in particular from a second material that differs from the first material of the first frame.
By introducing the first adhesive, the display is connected to the lens. The first adhesive has a first strength. In one embodiment, the display may be attached by a second adhesive, where the first and second adhesives are different.
The first stage of the two-stage frame limits the receiving area of the first adhesive. The second stage limits the receiving area of the second adhesive. A third and further stages are possible and limit the receiving area for the second or further adhesives.
In a further embodiment, the second adhesive can have a higher strength than the first adhesive. The display is particularly advantageously connected to the housing half. Alternatively or additionally, a step can increase the surface area of the housing half and enhance the effect of the improved connection between the display and the housing half.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, at least one spacer is arranged between the display and the upper housing part. The spacer has a first side against a display side of the display and a second side against the lens. The spacer thus defines a distance between the display and the lens. In addition, the spacer supports the display on the lens. The design of the spacer is essentially taking into account not to impair the view of the display. The number of spacers is not limited to one spacer. It is possible to use several spacers in such a way that they are arranged, for example, in all corners of the display.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the spacer is frame-shaped. For example, the spacer can replicate the shape of the display and be arranged below a print area. The frame-shaped spacer does not affect the view of the display. Alternatively or additionally, several small frame-shaped spacers can be used. These can, for example, be arranged in all corners and/or at regular intervals below the print area.
In a further advantageous embodiment, the spacer has passage openings for the adhesive. Passage openings can be window-like openings, for example. Window-like openings can, for example, be round, oval, square or the like. be. A passage opening is also possible through a recess, preferably an arc-like recess, for example in a contact area on the lens and the spacer. Alternatively or additionally, a recess, preferably an arcuate recess, is also possible in a contact area of the display and the spacer. For example, the supporting function is not affected and the load-bearing capacity of the display is retained. The adhesive, which is still liquid during assembly, penetrates through the openings and forms a connection with the display and the lens. In a specific embodiment, the spacer can be a ring with holes.
- - Providing a housing part and a frame which is formed in one piece with the housing part, as well as a lens which is connected to the housing part,
- - Attaching a display to the lens using a first adhesive such that the frame surrounds the display and the frame forms a receiving area of the first adhesive.
In particular, the method can be carried out in such a way that the housing part is produced on a first machine, for example an injection molding machine. The housing part with the frame is created in an injection mold, in particular with a first material, and in particular with a second material, preferably a transpa rent material that creates the lens. The housing part, the frame and the lens are designed in one piece.
The first adhesive is added to the receiving area on another machine, e.g. a dispenser. In particular, after a first period of time, the adhesive has been distributed in the receiving area and the display is inserted. The insertion of the display is particularly path-controlled. In other words, the display is dipped into the first adhesive in particular by a first feed device and released in particular after reaching a predetermined distance. In the following step, the adhesive hardens and fixes the display in its position.
- - Inserting at least one spacer,
- - filling the first adhesive,
- - Inserting the display into the first adhesive.
The insertion of the at least one spacer takes place via a particularly further feed device, with which at least one spacer is positioned on the lens. Feeding the spacer is possible on the first machine in particular. Alternatively, the spacer can also be fed in a separate process or on another machine, in particular the dispenser. It is possible that the spacer is fixed in particular in a storage position on the lens during the following process. In this particularly advantageous embodiment, the first adhesive is also filled in by the same machine, e.g. the dispenser, corresponding to the initially proposed embodiment. In particular, after a second period of time, which differs from the first period of time, the first adhesive has penetrated the passage openings in the at least one spacer or is distributed outside the spacer. In an alternative embodiment, in which the at least one spacer has no passage openings, the second time period is shortened and can correspond to the first time period. The display is inserted into the first adhesive in the same way as the initially proposed embodiment.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the method, the display is inserted in a force-controlled manner. In particular, the at least one spacer can result in a defined end point for inserting the display. In other words, the joining process of the display can be completed when the display side of the display reaches the at least one spacer. A shutdown of the joining process can be detected by means of a substantially steep increase in the force-distance gradient.
