Description
Technisches Gebiettechnical field
The present invention relates to a method for treating process air from an industrial process.
Stand der TechnikState of the art
Process air can be used as a medium in certain process steps for the manufacture of products in order to bring about certain technical effects such as drying in a process step. In industrial processes, the process air can absorb operating materials, with the process air being released into the environment after leaving the industrial process. However, such operating materials can contain pollutants that have a negative impact on the environment. In order to reduce the negative environmental impact, this exhaust air must be treated accordingly, also in order to comply with the given legal limit values for pollutants in the exhaust air to be released into the environment.
The treatment of process air from an industrial process can involve cleaning the air from the solvents used in industrial processes. As mentioned above, such a treatment can be released into the environment for regulatory reasons and/or for economic reasons for general further use in other industrial processes; the latter can be the case in particular when using particularly valuable solvents.
In particular, methods with a condensation step are known in the prior art, in which case condensates are separated from the process air and solvents can thereby be recovered.
The present invention relates to a method for the treatment of process air, in particular for the recovery of solvents used in industrial processes such as the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries. The process includes condensation processes that work at different temperature levels, with a solvent-containing condensate being separated from the process air and then fed into a recovery process. The present invention also relates to a device for treating process air from an industrial process, in particular for carrying out a method according to the invention.
Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention
The present invention is based on the object of specifying an improved method for recovering condensate from process air.
This object is achieved according to the invention with a method for treating process air from an industrial process with a main flow, at least part of the process air being treated with the following method steps: a first condensation step, in which a first condensate is separated from the process air and fed to a first recovery process , a second condensation step that takes place after the first condensation step, in which a second condensate is separated from the process air and fed to a second recovery process, the lowest temperature of the process air reached in the second condensation step being lower than the lowest temperature of the process air reached in the first condensation step process air.
The inventors have found that it can be advantageous for the recovery of in particular solvent-containing condensate to treat the process air with two condensation steps, the process air being cooled to a lower temperature in the second condensation step than in the first condensation step. With the help of the two-stage treatment, the process air can be treated more intensively and a higher proportion of solvents can be separated from the process air than is possible with a single-stage condensation process. The method according to the invention proves to be particularly advantageous compared to an alternative method with a concentrator downstream of the first condensation step, the solvent being adsorbed by the concentrator, particularly when the solvent to be adsorbed has a comparatively low vapor pressure.
In the context of this disclosure, "a" and "an" are to be read as indefinite articles and thus always as "at least one" or "at least one" unless expressly stated otherwise, so after several first condensation steps there can also be several second condensation steps be provided. The first or second condensation step can in each case also be understood as a multi-stage first or multi-stage second condensation step. In particular a first or second condensation step can include several condensation processes (see below). Directional information such as "after" or "before" in the method generally refers to the direction of flow. For example, the phrase “after the first condensation step” or “before the second condensation step” should be understood as “downstream from the first condensation step” or “upstream from the second condensation step”.
The method according to the invention is preferably suitable for treating process air that was involved in an industrial process, for example when drying a coating for the production of lithium-ion batteries, in particular electrodes, separators and/or membranes for secondary batteries or fuel cells. In the method according to the invention, at least part of the process air is fed into the main flow to the first condensation step. Preferably, the main stream represents a continuous flow of process air in the process. Preferably, the main stream comprises the flow that is routed from the industrial process to the first condensation step, ie preferably the majority of the process air routed to the first condensation step. In particular, the spatial extent of the main flow also includes that flow space in which the first condensation step takes place. The process air is preferably treated completely in the method in the first condensation step.
In a further embodiment, the spatial extent of the main flow could also include that flow space in which the second condensation step takes place. In this case, the main stream would therefore first be passed through the first condensation step and then through the second condensation step.
However, it is particularly preferred that the second condensation step is located outside of the main flow, ie the main flow is passed only through the first but not through the second condensation step.
The process air can be a gas mixture, in which case at least one component can be condensed out. In particular, such a component includes a solvent. A solvent component can be, for example, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), triethyl phosphate (TEP), ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer (EAA), dimethylacetamide (DMAc) or else water, acetone or alcohol. In the first and second condensation step, the process air can preferably flow through a heat exchanger and be cooled in the process, so that heat can be released from the process air to the heat exchanger. When the process air cools down, aerosols can form in the air, which are then passed through installations to catch droplets. As a result, solvents and/or water can condense out, be trapped and then separated out.
The first condensate separated from the process air is fed to the first recovery process after separation. Feeding into the first recovery process can also include a number of intermediate steps that are used for recovery. Such intermediate steps can include trapping condensate in the first condensation step or feeding it through a line into a container outside of a device in which the condensation step is carried out. The first condensate can also be conveyed directly into a recovery process by means of a pump. This also includes further intermediate steps such as cleaning, reactivation, clarification or temperature control of the condensate. When it is fed into the first recovery process, dirt can be removed from the condensate by filtering, then it can be chemically activated and brought to a specific temperature.
The first recovery process can preferably begin immediately after the
The second condensate can preferably be separated from the process air analogously to the first condensate and fed to the second recovery process. Feeding the second condensate into the second recovery process can preferably, as in the case of the first condensate, comprise a number of intermediate steps which are used for recovery.
Analogously to the first recovery process, the second recovery process can also only include a discharge of the second condensate after the separation, ie in this case too it is not processed further.
In the second condensation step, the process air reaches a lower temperature than in the first condensation step. The temperature of the process air in the second condensation step can therefore also be lower on average than in the first condensation step. The pro process air can reach a lowest temperature in the first condensation step of approx. 25 °C, 20 °C, 15 °C or less. In the second condensation step, on the other hand, the process air can reach a lowest temperature of -5°C or less. A condensation step can in particular include a number of cooling stages, ie for example a number of cooling elements or heat exchangers connected in series, before the process air is heated up again. In the case of a multi-stage cooling of the process air in a condensation step, the lowest temperature reached is to be regarded as the lowest temperature across all cooling stages. Due to the different lowest temperatures reached in the first and in the second condensation step, different solvent components of the process air, each with different dew points, can be separated in each case in the first and in the second condensation step.
Alternatively or additionally, a separation in the sense of an condensation step is also conceivable, the pressure of the process air being increased, for example before or during a condensation step, by a compression process using a compressor in order to also increase the partial pressures of the components. As a result, a higher separation rate per unit volume of process air can be achieved. Process air is preferably expanded again to a lower pressure level after the condensation step, in particular the pressure level is lowered to a value corresponding to the pressure level of the process air flowing on.
A volume flow naturally also means a mass flow, whereby the density can be variable. However, when specifying the volume flow, it is preferred that the density is assumed to be a constant for describing and comparing the volume flow. In this case, the volume flow is proportional to the mass flow. In the case of condensation steps, it can generally be provided that a condensate can form.
Preferred refinements can be found in the dependent claims and the description of the figures, with the presentation of the features not always making a detailed distinction between aspects of the device and the method or use.
In a preferred embodiment, at least one solvent is recovered using the method according to the invention, with the first condensate containing a first solvent and the second condensate containing a second solvent, with the first and/or second solvent in particular containing a hydrocarbon compound. In particular, the first and the second solvent can be identical and nevertheless have different concentrations or degrees of purity in the respective condensate. Both the first and the second solvent are used in particular in an industrial process for the production of lithium-ion batteries and are converted there into process air via a drying process. The solvents are at least partially separated again from the process air with the aid of the method according to the invention.
The process air involved in an industrial process is therefore preferably a carrier of an organic solvent which is gaseous in particular at the process temperature and which preferably has at least one hydrocarbon compound. Solvents with gaseous organic components are also known as volatile organic compound (VOC) solvents and can include, in particular, NMP, TEP, EAA, DMAc or the like.
Also conceivable is a method for recovering a solvent, wherein the first condensate comprises a first solvent and the second condensate comprises a second solvent, wherein the first and/or the second solvent contains an inorganic solvent. Inorganic solvents are suitable for dissolving organic binders to form paints or varnishes. In particular, an inorganic solvent can also include water.
In a further preferred embodiment, the method according to the invention has a volume flow in the main flow and in a secondary flow, in which at least part of the process air is branched off after the first condensation step in a branch into the secondary flow for treatment with the second condensation step, with the Secondary flow branched volume flow is in particular smaller than the volume flow present after the branch in the main flow. After the first condensation step, the process air is preferably divided into at least two streams, for example into a main stream and a side stream. Even in the case of a branching into a plurality of secondary flows, the total volume flow branched off, which is added across all secondary flows, is preferably smaller than the existing volume flow, which remains in the main flow downstream of the branch. Only a small part of the process air is branched off from the main flow into the secondary flow and then treated with the second condensation step.
The treatment with the second condensation step of only a smaller part of the process air has the advantage that less energy is required for cooling in the second condensation step than the energy expenditure required to condense a large part of the process air in the second condensation step. Such a procedure also enables more flexible control of the amount of air to be condensed in the second condensation step according to economic criteria.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, at least part of the process air is further treated after the first condensation step in a first further treatment step, the first further treatment step involving heat supply and/or a pressure reduction and/or a second supply of air from outside the main flow, in particular from a Surroundings and/or from a side stream, wherein at least part of the process air is returned to an industrial process after the first further treatment step. The first further treatment particularly preferably takes place after the branching off in the main stream. The process air that is in the main stream is therefore preferably further treated after the first condensation step in the first further treatment step. With respect to the main flow, the branch is therefore downstream of the first condensation step and upstream of the first further treatment step.
The first further treatment step can also include heat supply, pressure reduction and a second supply of ambient air or process air from outside the main flow, for example from a side flow. It is also conceivable that part of the process air, which is located beforehand, ie upstream in the secondary flow, is further treated in the first further treatment step after the first and second condensation step. The process air in the side stream can therefore be passed through the second condensation step before it is further treated in the first further treatment step. However, it is preferred that the process air is further treated in the first further treatment step after the first condensation step. The main stream can therefore only be passed through the first but not through the second condensation step. For this purpose, the main stream is preferably divided after the first condensation step, with the main stream being recycled and the side stream being fed to the second condensation step. An optional feed to the first further treatment step from the main and side streams is conceivable. The process air can therefore be combined from the main and the secondary flow in the first further treatment step and further treated.
The first further processing step can include any combination of the further processing measures described. The process air can preferably be heated first, in which case ambient air can then be supplied to the process air before the process air is further heated again. Also conceivable in the first further treatment step is a relaxation of the process air, followed by a heating of the process air and a supply of air from a (natural) environment before the process air is heated again. In an alternative embodiment, air from a side stream and from a (natural) environment is added to the process air in the first further treatment step. In a further possible embodiment, process air is added exclusively from a secondary flow, see below in the exemplary embodiment for further details. The further treatment of the process air in the first further treatment step can increase the capacity of the process air for solvents from the industrial process.
In the case of an increase in the drying performance in the industrial process, the method according to the invention can also briefly increase the overall conveying performance by increasing the supply of ambient air in the first further treatment step.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the first further treatment step takes place after the branching off. The branching preferably follows after the first condensation step, before a smaller part of the process air is branched off and conducted as a side stream to the second condensation step. The branching thus takes place with respect to the main flow between the first condensation step and the first further treatment step, ie it is positioned upstream of the first further treatment step. The second condensation step can therefore take place in the side stream. It is particularly preferred that the branching off takes place before the main stream is heated in the first further treatment step.
The part of the process air remaining in the main flow after the branch can be further treated after the branch with the first further treatment step. Such a procedure combines at least three essential advantages: Firstly, the process air branched off as a side flow has already been cooled after the first condensation step, i.e. it is cooler than after the first further treatment step, for example, before the process air has passed through the second condensation step is brought to an even lower temperature. Secondly, only a smaller part of the process air is diverted from the main flow and treated with the second condensation step. The total volume flow of the branched-off process air to be cooled is therefore smaller than that of the main flow. Thirdly, the process air in the main stream is reheated after only one, ie after the first, condensation step of the first further treatment step for return to the industrial process, for example. In other words, the combination of these at least three advantages leads to a much more efficient overall process, because only a smaller volume flow is condensed out at lower temperatures, but the remaining volume of the process air is cooled less and therefore has to be heated up less for return to the industrial process.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, at least part of the process air is further treated after the second condensation step in a second further treatment step, which second further treatment step involves supplying heat and/or reducing the pressure and/or filtering and/or a third condensation step and/or a includes adsorbing. Preferably, the process air treated in the second condensation step is then heated in the second further treatment step and passed through a filter, for example through an activated carbon filter, in order to further remove solvent from the process air. The filter used can be selected so that the process air that flows through can comply with legal emission limits, especially for venting into an environment. In an alternative embodiment, the second further treatment step can include a third condensation step. The third condensation step can reach an even lower temperature than the second condensation step. Also conceivable in the second further treatment step is the use of a concentrator to remove further solvent components of the process air by adsorption. In the second further treatment step, a third condensation step can also be combined with a filter or with an adsorption in order to enable the second further treatment, if necessary, to be better adapted to the respective solvent components in the process air.
The side stream is particularly preferably passed through the second condensation step and then further treated with the second further treatment step. Usually, however, at least part of the process air can be released into the environment as exhaust air after the second further treatment step.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, part of the process air is returned to an industrial process after the second further treatment step. After the second further treatment step, the process air can be made available to another process, which further processes the process air. In particular, the process air can be returned indirectly to the industrial process by preconditioning the process air for use in the industrial process, for example being further treated in the first further treatment step.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, at least part of the process air from the industrial process is fed into the main flow and is filtered in the process. In the industrial process, particles can arise that are transported out of the industrial process when the process air is guided. So that such particles preferably do not get into the first condensation step, a filter can be used when guiding the process air into the main stream in order to filter out the particles. In principle, the term "filtering" should also be understood to mean any other separation of particles. An electrostatic precipitator and/or a cyclone can also be considered. The filter is thus preferably placed before the first condensation step. In particular, the filter can be a filter system which minimizes the pressure loss of the filtering. The filter used is preferably adapted to the particle size, so that different types of filters can be used for different industrial processes.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the industrial process includes a drying process, in particular the industrial process is part of a manufacturing process for manufacturing lithium-ion batteries. In particular, the industrial process can include a coating process, for example for coating electrodes and metal foils. The industrial process can also include membrane production. However, the industrial process can also be part of a manufacturing process for the manufacture of wood products, in which a solvent used is dried.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the method according to the invention has a collection of the first condensate in the first recovery process and/or a collection of the second condensate in the second recovery process for recycling into an industrial process. In the first and second recovery processes, respectively, the first and second separated condensates are preferably collected. The collection of the condensate can also be a Temporary storage before a solvent component of the condensate is returned to an industrial process. Returning it to an industrial process and using it again in this industrial process can place certain technical demands on the collected condensate, which is why the collected condensate has to be processed in further process steps. The return to an industrial process may therefore also include several processing steps to achieve the required properties, for example degrees of purity, for use in an industrial process.
This is because the condensate separated from the process air can have an aqueous solvent mixture. The treatment of the condensate for recycling into an industrial process can in particular include a distillation in order to separate the solvent components contained in the condensate and/or to increase the concentration of the respective solvent components. The distillation temperature for separating and/or enriching the second condensate can therefore be different from the distillation temperature for the first condensate.
It is also conceivable that only the first condensate is collected in the first recovery process for recycling to an industrial process and not the second condensate in the second recovery process. Under certain circumstances, it may happen that the reprocessing of the second condensate for recycling into an industrial process is not economical and it may therefore be possible to dispense with the collection and recycling of the second condensate.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the method according to the invention has heat recovery in the first and/or second and/or third condensation step. The heat extracted in the respective condensation step is preferably recovered, for example by means of a heat exchanger or a heat pump. The recovered heat is preferably added back to the process air during heating in the method, particularly preferably within a condenser, so that the heat transport path can be kept as short as possible to avoid losses. It is also conceivable to use the recovered heat in an industrial process, ie to add the recovered heat from the respective condensation step to an industrial process.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, de-icing takes place as part of the second condensation step, with the supply of at least part of the process air to the second condensation step being temporarily interrupted and/or at least part of the process air being routed past the second condensation step and/or the supply of the process air to the second condensation step can be divided, with the de-icing taking place in a partial flow. In particular, it can happen that the water vapor contained in the process air is separated out as solid particles (ice) during the second condensation step due to the low temperature and is deposited, for example, on a cooling fin in a heat exchanger. Heat transfer can be affected by the buildup of ice on a cooling fin or heat transfer surface in general. The heat transfer surface is preferably freed from ice during the de-icing, so that the full functionality of the heat exchanger can be restored. De-icing can be done by adding heat to thaw the ice. Heat can be supplied, for example, via a fluidic heating circuit (e.g. by means of an additional heating heat exchanger or by switching a working medium circuit of the heat exchanger of the condenser, which acts as a cooling medium circuit, to an at least intermittent supply of heated de-icing medium) and/or electrical heating elements. It is also conceivable, in addition to adding heat or as an alternative, to carry out chemical de-icing by adding de-icing liquid. De-icing liquid can be added, for example, by spraying the heat transfer surface. In particular, the second condensate can contain a solvent which can be used as a de-icing liquid for de-icing.
During de-icing, part of the process air can be routed past the second condensation step. The process air is therefore diverted before it enters the second condensation step and is fed, for example, to a flow channel downstream of the second condensation step. In particular, the supply of process air to the second condensation step during de-icing can be temporarily interrupted and bypassed the second condensation step for the duration of the de-icing. A continuous flow can therefore also be ensured during de-icing.
The supply of the process air to the second condensation step can also be divided during the de-icing into at least two, preferably at least two partial flows that are supplied with process air alternately or alternately before the second condensation step. The volume flow in a partial flow can in particular the volume correspond to the current of the secondary flow, so the secondary flow can be passed completely in a partial flow. By dividing the process air before the second condensation step, for example, a partial flow can be de-iced while another partial flow is treated with the second condensation step. The partial flows can therefore run in parallel, and both the de-icing and the second condensation step can be operated in parallel, so that the separation of a second condensate can continue to take place at least in a partial flow during the de-icing. A continuous flow can also be ensured with this solution.
The de-icing can in particular also take place at the same time as the second condensation step, in that a partial area of the flow space is de-iced. In such an embodiment, the de-icing can take place locally, ie in places, so that the condensation can continue to take place in particular at other places in the flow space.
The de-icing can be understood in such a way that a de-icing process has at least been started, even if a physical de-icing, ie with an actual change of state from the solid to the liquid phase, has not yet started. The de-icing also includes a certain duration or a time interval after the physical de-icing, in order to allow water to be drained off, for example.
De-icing with a predictive de-icing process is also conceivable, in which relevant operating parameters are recorded and monitored so that the de-icing agent can be applied to the surfaces to be de-iced at such a time that the ice deposition processes can be inhibited in such a way that temporal interruptions in the second condensation step for de-icing can at least be avoided can be reduced or even prevented.
The present invention also relates to a device for treating process air from an industrial process, preferably for carrying out an above method.
Furthermore, the present invention is based on the object of specifying an advantageous device for the treatment of process air from an industrial process for the purpose of recovering condensate.
This object is achieved according to the invention by a device for treating process air from an industrial process, in particular for carrying out the method described above with a main flow, a first condenser which has a first cooling element and a first separator, the process air passing through the first cooling element within the first condenser and then passed through the first separator, wherein a first condensate is separated from the process air and fed to a first recovery process. According to the invention, a second condenser connected downstream of the first condenser is also provided, which has a second cooling element and a second separator, with the process air being cooled in the second condenser by the second cooling element and then passed through the second separator, with a second condensate being discharged separated from the process air and fed to a second recovery process.
Preferably, the main stream from the industrial process is fed into a first condenser. Therein, the process air is preferably passed through a first cooling element. In particular, the first cooling element can be a heat exchanger with cooling fins, in particular part of a heat pump, as a result of which heat can be extracted from the process air and transferred to a cooling medium or heat exchanger fluid. As a result of the cooling, condensate can be deposited on a heat transfer surface, for example on the cooling fins, as a result of which a first condensate can be separated off. A separator, through which the process air can also be passed, is preferably arranged behind the first cooling element. Aerosols can also be created by the cooling, which can also be passed through the separator. As a result, further condensate in the form of fine droplets can be caught by the separator. The separator can in particular be an impact separator or demister, which has a wire mesh, for example.
According to the invention, the second capacitor is connected downstream of the first capacitor. In this case, the process air is thus preferably passed through the first condenser before the process air is treated in the second condenser. In particular, the device makes it possible for a plurality of second capacitors to be arranged behind the first capacitor, that is to say for the second capacitors to be arranged parallel to one another and at the same time in series with the first capacitor.
The second capacitor, like the first capacitor, has a second cooling element and a. second separator, but the second condenser is designed in such a way that the process air is cooled in such a way that the lowest temperature reached in the second condensation step is lower than the lowest temperature reached in the first condensation step. In particular, a refrigerant or heat exchanger fluid which is chemically different from the first condenser and has a lower operating temperature than the refrigerant of the first condenser can be used in the second condenser.
Particularly preferably, the first and the second condenser each have a multi-stage cooling element, in which several cooling bodies, in particular heat exchangers, can be arranged one behind the other, through which the main flow can be passed. The process air is preferably successively cooled down to a target temperature by the multi-stage cooling element. The separator can preferably be arranged behind the multi-stage cooling element. Optionally, a separator can also be arranged between two respective heat sinks. To recover the first or second condensate, the condenser can have a collection container and an I<condensate pump in order to convey the separated first or second condensate into a respective recovery process.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the device has a diverting device, with at least part of the process air being diverted downstream of the first separator in a branch into a secondary flow, with the diverting device preferably having a first control unit and/or a first valve and/or a blower for guiding at least part of the process air.
After the first condensation step, part of the process air is preferably branched off from the main flow into a secondary flow. In particular, the branch can be implemented in a particularly simple technical manner by, for example, arranging a passage or through hole in a wall surface of a first flow channel such that process air can escape from the main flow into a second flow channel. However, part of the process air is preferably conducted from the main flow into the secondary flow by means of a first valve and a fan of the diverting device. and branched off. In this case, a first control unit can control the routing of the process air into the secondary flow, ie regulate the volume flow diverted into the secondary flow. The branching off can be understood in particular as tapping off the main stream. The diverting device, in particular the first valve, can be arranged in the first condenser. The first valve is particularly preferably arranged downstream of the first separator, so that process air can be branched off into the bypass flow in the first condenser downstream of the separator. In particular, the first valve can also reduce the supply of process air into the bypass flow or even stop it completely if the diversion is not desired in a specific operating state.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the first cooling element comprises in particular a first heat exchanger for heat recovery in the first condensation step, with at least part of the process air being further treated after the first condensation step in the first condenser, with the first condenser having a first heating element for heating the process air has, wherein the device behind the first condenser has in particular a first air heater.
A portion of the process air is preferably further treated after the first condensation step in the first condenser, that is to say preferably downstream of the first cooling element and the first separator. The first cooling element particularly preferably comprises the first heat exchanger. Also preferably, the first heating element is a heat exchanger connected to the first heat exchanger. During the further treatment in the first condenser, the heat extracted from the process air in the first heat exchanger is preferably used to heat the process air again via a heat pump. Optionally, but particularly preferably, the process air is further treated in the first condenser after the branch, in the main stream. A heating element operated with externally heatable electricity can also optionally be arranged as the first heating element in the first condenser, regardless of whether heat is recovered in the first condensation step. Optionally, the first heat exchanger can return the recovered heat to the process air outside the first condenser. In particular, the recovered heat can optionally be fed into the industrial process.
The device particularly preferably has a first air heater which is arranged behind the first condenser, preferably behind an air inlet for supplying air outside the main flow. The first air heater can preferably improve the drying properties of the process air for the industrial process, for example further heating the process air and lowering the relative humidity of the process air. The preferred arrangement of the first air heater after the first condensation step has the advantage that a significant proportion of solvent is already eliminated from the process air in the first condensation step can be densed before the first air heater heats up the process air.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, at least part of the process air is routed upstream of the first heating element in a branch into the secondary flow to the second condenser. In particular, the branching takes place in the first condenser before the process air is reheated by the first heating element. The branch can preferably be arranged in the first condenser between the first separator and the first heating element, so part of the process air is branched off in the first condenser before the first heating element, after it has already been cooled by the first cooling element and the first condensate by the first separator was separated.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the second cooling element comprises in particular a second heat exchanger for heat recovery in the second condensation step, with at least part of the process air being further treated after the second condensation step in the second condenser, which has a second heating element for heating the process air.
A portion of the process air is preferably further treated in the second condenser after the second condensation step, ie preferably downstream of the second cooling element and the second separator. The second cooling element particularly preferably comprises the second heat exchanger. Also preferably, the second heating element is a heat exchanger connected to the second heat exchanger. During further treatment in the second condenser, the heat extracted from the process air in the second heat exchanger is particularly preferably reheated with the second heating element via a heat pump. In particular, a heat exchanger of the heat pump can be arranged inside or else outside of the second condenser. The second heating element arranged in the second condenser can also be an electric current-operated heating element. Optionally, the second heat exchanger can return the recovered heat to the process air outside the second condenser. In particular, the recovered heat can optionally be fed into the industrial process.
The process air is preferably conditioned in the second condenser in such a way that the process air is adapted for further treatment in a second further treatment device. For example, it may be necessary for the process air to be conditioned to a certain temperature and/or a certain pressure so that the processes taking place in the second further treatment device, for example adsorption, can proceed as effectively as possible.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, a second further treatment device is arranged after the second condensation step, the process air being further treated with the second further treatment device, which has a filter and/or a third condenser and/or a concentrator.
The second further treatment device particularly preferably has an activated charcoal filter which can, for example, remove other solvent components still contained in the process air in order to comply with specific legal emission limit values when it is discharged into the environment.
In particular, however, the second further treatment device can also optionally have a third condenser in order to treat the process air with a third condensation step. In this case, the third condenser can be connected in series with the second condenser, ie the process air is preferably always passed through the second condenser before the process air is treated in the third condenser. It is also conceivable to arrange a plurality of third capacitors in parallel with one another.
Optionally, the second further treatment device has a concentrator which can remove solvent components from the process air by means of adsorption.
In a further embodiment, the second further treatment device can have any combination of a filter, a condenser or a concentrator. It is conceivable, for example, that the second further treatment device is used to remove different solvent components and that a combination of a filter with a condenser or with a concentrator can make sense.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the device according to the invention has a first condensate collector and a second condensate collector, the first condensate being collected in the first recovery process for recycling into the industrial process, and the second condensate being collected in the second recovery process for recycling into the industrial process is collected.
The first or second condensate collector can each be an intermediate store, a reservoir or a container, which can be arranged in the respective condenser or also outside of the respective condenser. The respective condensate collector differs from a line in that the condensate collector has a primary purpose of collection instead of transport.
In particular, the respective condensate collector can be part of a device that reprocesses the respective condensate for recycling into the industrial process. In particular, such a device can be used for distillation in order to enrich the respective solvent component of the condensate for the industrial process.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the second capacitor. a de-icing device. According to the invention, the process air can be cooled in the second condenser to a temperature at which ice deposits can form on the cooling fins of the second cooling element or in the second separator. Ice deposits are undesirable because they can significantly impair the thermal conductivity of the cooling fins or the functionality of the second separator. The de-icing device can ensure that the second condenser can be freed from ice deposits after specific operating intervals.
In particular, the de-icing device preferably comprises a heater which can either directly heat the components to be de-iced or the process air is thereby indirectly heated in such a way that the ice that has deposited can be melted off the components. Optionally, de-icing agent can be applied to the components to be de-iced so that the corresponding surfaces can be freed from ice. In particular, the de-icing can take place in a partial area of the second condenser, that is to say locally or in places, during the ongoing condensation. Also conceivable is a de-icing device with a predictive de-icing method in which relevant operating parameters are recorded and monitored so that the de-icing agent can be applied to the surfaces to be de-iced in good time so that the ice deposits can be inhibited from the outset in order to always ensure the function of the second condenser guarantee. Optionally, the de-icing device can have a heater for heating the components to be de-iced and at the same time the use of de-icing agent. Such a combination of the de-icing device can advantageously speed up the de-icing.
The second condensation step can—as described above—comprise at least two parallel partial flows with condensers arranged correspondingly in parallel. When de-icing in a condenser, the supply of process air can be at least partially, preferably essentially completely, diverted to another condenser, so that the second condensation step takes place continuously and does not have to be interrupted.
In particular, the de-icing device can have a signal generator, so that the. Supply of at least part of the process air to the second condenser can be temporarily interrupted. The de-icing device can preferably communicate with a control unit, for example the first control unit, so that a valve for guiding process air, for example the first valve, can be activated accordingly.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the industrial process comprises the coating of a conductive carrier material, in particular a conductive foil material, with a solvent-containing mixture of substances as a coating and drying after the coating has been applied to the carrier material, with solvent-containing process air being produced, which is fed to the device.

Bevorzugte Ausführung der ErfindungPreferred embodiment of the invention
In the manufacture of electrodes for lithium ion batteries and the like, a wet coating may be applied to a substrate in the form of a slurry or paste. According to the invention, this takes place in an industrial process which is carried out on an industrial scale in an
In a particularly preferred embodiment for the production of battery electrodes, the wet slurry is applied to both sides of the carrier material and then dried in an oven or dryer. This arrangement is referred to as simultaneous double-sided coating and drying. In the case of manufacturing lithium ion electrodes, this arrangement is particularly advantageous in terms of increasing productivity because it requires only one drying step after applying the wet coating slurry to both sides.
The volatile organic compounds (VOC), which essentially pass in vapor form into a furnace atmosphere and thus into a process air, in particular due to the drying process in the dryer or oven, are combined according to the invention for the recovery of solvents (e.g. NMP, TEP, EAA, DMAc). condensed with water and other potential impurities in condensers. The process air then flows through devices for separating fine droplets (demisters, droplet separators). In most drying processes, at least some of the air exiting the condensation step is vented to the atmosphere, while the rest of the air can be returned to the dryer. For many solvents, the concentration effluent from condenser operations is well above the accepted limits for release into the atmosphere. In addition, the recovery of such solvents can be cost effective and desirable. As a result, additional downstream cleaning devices are usually required to limit emissions in order to reduce the VOC concentration to permissible values. VOC cleaning methods include thermal (catalytic and pure thermal) oxidation methods, carbon adsorption and adsorption using various adsorption media such as zeolite, activated carbon, etc.
According to the method according to the invention, the process air is conducted in a
After the process air in the main flow has been treated with the
In the
After the
Ice deposition can occur in the
In the
After the
The
For each stage, the heat exchanger 6a has a cooling body with vertically running cooling ribs, through which the process air is conducted. The separated
Downstream of the
The
Downstream of the
Downstream of the
A second and
The air supplied from the
At the same time, the parallel capacitor 3a offers a certain operational redundancy and can also be used, for example, when the
