Description
The present invention relates to an automatic dosing system, use of an automatic dosing system, a water-bearing household appliance comprising an automatic dosing system and a method for operating a water-bearing household appliance with an automatic dosing system.
Water-bearing household appliances such as washing machines with an automatic dosing system typically have at least one treatment agent chamber for holding a supply of treatment agent such as detergent. The treatment agent can be dosed using an automatic dosing system, e.g. B. i-DOS ® , which automatically determines the load of the washing machine with laundry and thus determines the required amount of laundry treatment agent and water and dosed accordingly. This enables easy dosing of the treatment agent and thus a high degree of user-friendliness, as well as avoidance of underdosing or overdosing of the treatment agent and thus contributes to environmental protection. The amount of treatment agent calculated in this way is pumped from the treatment agent chamber into the flushing area by means of a pump and is conveyed into the tub with the aid of water. Gear pumps, piston pumps, peristaltic pumps, Archimedean pumps or Venturi pumps are usually used. With these dosing pumps, however, difficulties can arise during transport when a liquid treatment agent has either a very low viscosity, such as fabric softener, or a very high viscosity, such as PAP bleach (bleaching agent based on phthalimidoperoxohexanoic acid). In addition, the use of PAP bleach in the hose pumps commonly used in laundry treatment machines is problematic in long-term use, since PAP bleach, as an oxidizing agent, can stress the material of the hose pump and make the hose porous. Depending on the type and composition of the treatment agent, drying out or swelling of the treatment agent can also cause difficulties in transportation.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an automatic dosing system for a water-bearing household appliance, with which automatic dosing and transport of liquid treatment agents of all viscosities is made possible.
This object is achieved by an automatic dosing system according to
According to one aspect of the present invention, an automatic dosing system for a water-bearing household appliance is provided, comprising at least one treatment agent chamber for holding a supply of liquid treatment agent, and a pump for conveying the liquid treatment agent from the treatment agent chamber into a flushing area of the household appliance. The pump used is characterized in that it is a disc pump. Advantages of the automatic dosing system according to the invention are the long service life, the low susceptibility to failure, the inexpensive production, the small space requirement and in particular the ability to be able to efficiently convey liquid treatment agents of different viscosities.
Water-carrying household appliances can be, in particular, laundry treatment appliances such as washing machines, tumble dryers, but also dishwashers. The at least one treatment agent chamber can be integrated into a drawer mechanism that allows the chamber(s) to be pulled out and filled with a supply of treatment agent. In advantageous embodiments, the treatment agent chamber is arranged above the flushing-in area, so that the treatment agent reaches the flushing-in area by gravitational force from the disc pump. The washing-in area of a laundry treatment appliance is understood to mean, in particular, the washing-in bowl. The dispensing bowl is generally made and aligned in such a way that water can be supplied to it, which mixes with the treatment agent conveyed into the dispensing bowl and can be fed into a laundry treatment room together with the treatment agent.
The dosing system according to the invention can have more than one treatment agent chamber, each with an associated disk pump, e.g. two or three. The multiple treatment agent chambers can be filled with different treatment agents that are added at different times in the washing program, e.g. detergent and fabric softener.
A liquid treatment agent within the meaning of the invention can be understood in particular as any agent for the care and/or treatment of textiles or crockery in a water-bearing household appliance, which is used to clean, care and/or improve the optical and/or haptic properties, the smell or to Causing other advantages can be added. In particular, the use of liquid or gel-like detergents such as heavy-duty detergents, color detergents, delicate detergents, but also fabric softeners, bleaches, impregnating agents or dishwashing detergents can be provided.
In the case of a dishwasher, the washing-in area can be a container inside the dishwasher that is filled from a storage container for washing-up liquid. The container can be equipped with an opening device which, by opening a flap, releases the rinsing agent contained therein when this is required in the cleaning process. Alternatively, the washing-in area can be the entire treatment space, ie the interior of the dishwasher in which the dishes are located.
The disk pump can in particular be designed in such a way that it comprises at least one rotatable disk and a motor for driving the at least one rotatable disk, the at least one rotatable disk and the motor being connected via a shaft and the at least one rotatable disk at least partially, preferably half, protrudes into the treatment agent chamber. The at least one rotatable disk is designed in such a way that the liquid treatment agent stored in the treatment agent chamber adheres to the disk and is transported to a scraping device by the rotation of the disk. The rotatable disk is preferably oriented at least substantially vertically, i.e. at an angle of ±20°, preferably ±10° to the vertical, so that the treatment agent adheres to both sides of the disk. The rotatable disc is in particular at least essentially circular, but can also have a slightly different shape, for example that of a polygon. The scraping device can be a scraping edge or plate made of plastic or metal. In particular, the stripping device can be designed in such a way that it has at least one slot and at least part of the at least one rotatable disk is located within the slot. The dimensions of the slot and the at least one rotatable disk are matched to one another such that the distance between the disk surface and the inner walls of the slot is small enough to prevent the treatment agent from passing through the slot without being wiped off. The distance can also be 0, in which case a sealing lip, for example made of plastic, can be attached. In other embodiments, there is no sealing lip, and the scraping device maintains a certain, but as small as possible, distance from the rotatable disk in order to prevent wear on the scraping edge. If the stripping device is integrated into a plate with slot(s), this is preferably aligned perpendicularly to the rotatable disk. In particular, the plate runs along a chord of a circle of the rotatable disc, wherein the chord of a circle can, but does not have to, run through the axis of rotation. The scraping device advantageously ensures that at least 70% of the disc surface is scraped off during one rotation.
Preferably, the scraping edge or plate is inclined to the horizontal, z. at an angle of 15° - 75°, preferably 30° - 60°, to allow the scraped-off treatment agent to be fed by gravity into the dispensing area which is located below the treatment agent chamber. The treatment agent can be conveyed from the scraping device into the flushing area in particular by means of a flushing nozzle, usually made of plastic. Alternatively, the wiper device has a tear-off edge at its lower edge, at which the treatment agent is released and flows into the flushing area.
Provision can in particular be made for the automatic dosing system to be arranged in a housing element which is designed as a drawer. The housing element can also have a handle element which can be used to pull out the at least one treatment agent chamber. The handle element can be formed in particular by an indentation and/or depression in the front side of the housing element. The at least one treatment agent chamber is preferably accessible by a user when it is pulled out, in particular for filling with treatment agent, and the automatic dosing system is ready for operation when it is not pulled out. In particular, it can be provided that the automatic dosing system, comprising at least one rotatable disc, a stripping device and a shaft, is moved together with the treatment agent chamber when the drawer is pulled out or pushed in. For this purpose, a detachable connection between the shaft and the motor is opened when the drawer is pulled out and restored when it is pushed in, so that the motor remains in the household appliance. A detachable connection can be a clamp, pressure or twist lock, such as a bayonet lock. The detachable connection is preferably located outside the treatment agent chamber. The shaft may pass through a sealed opening in the wall of the treating agent chamber.
According to one embodiment, it can be provided that the current consumed by the motor is measured and used as a manipulated variable for control or regulation of the treatment required required amount of treatment agent is used. In particular, a 230 V or a 12 V motor can be used as the motor. Since the liquid treatment agent opposes a certain resistance to the rotating disc, which correlates with the viscosity of the treatment agent, the viscosity of the treatment agent stored in the treatment agent chamber can be determined via the current drawn by the motor. The viscosity in turn correlates with the amount of treatment agent adhering to the disc and thus with the flow rate per revolution. The amount of treatment agent delivered can thus be influenced via the speed of the rotating disc and the delivery time and controlled or regulated in such a way that the amount of treatment agent required for the treatment is delivered to the flushing area of the water-bearing household appliance.
According to a preferred embodiment, the disk pump consists of one or more rotatable disks, the number of rotatable disks being between 1 and 20, preferably between 1 and 5. The rotatable disks are preferably arranged on a common shaft and essentially parallel (deviation ≦10°) to one another. The diameter of the at least one rotatable disk is in particular between 30 and 100 mm, preferably between 45 and 55 mm and the disk thickness is in particular between 0.1 and 10 mm, preferably between 1 and 3 mm. The at least one rotatable disc is arranged in such a way that it protrudes at least partially into the treatment agent chamber and when the treatment agent chamber is filled with treatment agent - depending on the fill level - for example 10% to 50% of the disc surface, more preferably 20 to 40% of the disc surface, extends into the treatment agent is submerged. The speed of the at least one rotating disk is z. B. between 10 and 100 revolutions per minute (rpm), preferably between 40 and 60 rpm. and most preferably 50 rpm.
According to a further embodiment, the at least one rotatable disk has one or more conveying ribs to enlarge the surface of the disk and to increase the delivery volume and efficiency of the disk pump. The at least one conveying rib can be made of the same or a different material as the disc, for example plastic or a metal. The conveying ribs can be designed as indentations in the disc surface or as ribs or waves protruding therefrom.
According to a further aspect of the present invention, the use of an automatic dosing system, as described herein, for the automatic dosing and transport of liquid treatment agents in a water-bearing household appliance is proposed. The use of an automatic dosing system, which essentially consists of at least one rotatable disk and a scraper device, enables the automatic dosing and transport of liquid treatment agents of all viscosities. The treatment agent is conveyed by adhesion to the at least one rotating disk and scraping off the liquid treatment agent on the scraper device. The dosing can be regulated or controlled via the speed of the disc and/or the delivery time. The use of an automatic dosing system enables easy dosing of liquid treatment agents and thus contributes to a high level of user-friendliness of the water-bearing household appliance. Since the automatic metering system also avoids overdosing or underdosing the treatment agent, the invention contributes to environmental protection and cost savings.
The invention is also directed to a water-bearing household appliance comprising an automatic dosing system as described herein. All advantages and features of the automatic dosing system can be transferred analogously to the water-bearing household appliance and vice versa. The water-carrying household appliance can be a dishwasher or a laundry treatment appliance, preferably a washing machine or a washer-dryer. A housing element comprising the automatic dosing system is preferably arranged in laundry treatment devices on the front side at the top.
- Schritt S1: Bestimmen einer für eine Behandlung benötigten Menge eines in einer Behandlungsmittelkammer des Haushaltsgeräts bevorrateten Behandlungsmittels;
- Schritt S2: Antreiben eines Motors des Dosiersystems zum Rotieren der zumindest einen Scheibe der Scheibenpumpe;
- Schritt S3: Detektieren des vom Motor aufgenommenen Stroms und Bestimmung der Viskosität des bevorrateten Behandlungsmittels;
- Schritt S4: Bestimmen der zur Förderung der benötigten Menge erforderlichen Förderdauer und/oder Drehzahl der Scheibenpumpe;

- Step S1: determining an amount of a treatment agent stored in a treatment agent chamber of the domestic appliance required for a treatment;
- Step S2: driving a motor of the dosing system to rotate the at least one disk of the disk pump;
- Step S3: Detecting the current consumed by the motor and determining the viscosity of the stored treatment agent;
- Step S4: determining the delivery time and/or speed of the disc pump required to deliver the required quantity;
- Step S5: Adaptation of the funding duration and / or speed and driving the motor such that the promotion of the required treatment amount of the required delivery time and/or speed is reached.
All the advantages and features of the automatic dosing system can be transferred to the process in the same way, and vice versa. Individual features and embodiments mentioned above can be combined with one another and the advantages associated with the individual features also apply to a combination of these features. The method according to the invention can be carried out by a control unit of the household appliance, which in particular controls the operation of the household appliance. The required amount of treatment agent can be determined according to criteria known in the prior art. The delivery time and/or speed is preferably determined on the basis of the determined viscosity, e.g. For example, if the viscosity is lower, a higher delivery time and/or speed is required to deliver the required amount.
