The preparation of coffee is m commercial and domestic sector increasingly with fully automatic coffee machines. With fully automatic coffee machines, regular cleaning of the various chambers in the machine is necessary in order to remove the coffee oil and coffee fat from the machine. The accumulated oils and fats give the coffee a bad aftertaste over time and serve as a breeding ground for bacteria. Coffee fats are very stubborn and stick to the surfaces.
Fully automatic coffee machines are regularly cleaned mechanically or with the use of a chemical cleaner. Some machines therefore contain partially integrated cleaning systems that clean different areas of the machine with or without detergent within a specified time. A chemical cleaner for the brewing chamber must have a good cleaning performance in order to effectively remove the coffee fats and coffee oils. Various cleaning agents in liquid, powder or tablet form are known which are conventionally used to clean the brewing chamber and usually have a high pH value.
For example,

The cleaning tablet according to the invention preferably has a special external shape. In this embodiment, the cleaning tablet has three differently shaped areas that are integrally connected to one another. The first area has the shape of a hemisphere. The flat underside of the hemisphere, i.e. the circular surface, is followed by a second region which has a cylindrical shape, with the circular surface of the hemisphere and the cylinder lying against one another. The two circular areas can have the same radius or different radii. The radius of the cylinder is preferably larger than the radius of the circular area. The second side of the cylindrical area, i.e. the second circular area, is adjoined by a third area which is convexly curved outwards, i.e. is curved outwards in the shape of a lens. This form of the detergent tablet according to the invention is important for the dissolution of the detergent tablet in water. The detergent tablet according to the invention is characterized by improved dissolution behavior compared to conventional tablets with the same hardness.
The cleaning tablet according to the invention has the advantage that, in addition to cleaning, it also has a care effect. By introducing lubricant, in the form of vegetable oils, into the cleaning tablet, which is released during the cleaning process, the seals of the brewing unit are lubricated. This reduces the load on the drive motor for the brewing chamber and extends the service life of the coffee machine.
Generating a high pH value along with active oxygen throughout the cleaning process enables stubborn coffee fat deposits to be cleaned effectively. The effective cleaning is intensified in particular by the coordinated dissolution behavior of the cleaning tablet according to the invention, controlled by the effervescent system and the use of several phases. In this way, the active ingredients are gradually released and not within the first few cycles of a cleaning process. The cleaning process of a fully automatic coffee machine is typically divided into several cycles of cleaning and rinsing. The cleaning effect is further improved by using a bleach activator to accelerate the supply of active oxygen from sodium percarbonate.
The surfactant system with two anionic surfactants of different chain lengths and different wetting properties supports effective dirt removal. The optional addition of complexing agents also prevents limescale deposits in the brewing chamber, which is typically not flushed through and thus decalcified during the decalcification process of a fully automatic coffee machine.
The subject matter of the invention is also the use of a cleaning tablet according to the invention for cleaning the brewing device and lines of a coffee machine. The cleaning process is usually carried out in several cycles at temperatures between 70 and 80°C. The cleaning process of the coffee machine can be divided into cleaning cycles and rinsing cycles, which follow one another, e.g. 5-10 cleaning cycles and 5-8 rinsing cycles.

Brew sieves were used as test specimens. These were soiled by wetting them with a special, concentrated coffee solution. The residue was then burned onto the brewing sieves to simulate the stubborn deposits of coffee oils and coffee fats.
The soiled test specimens prepared in this way were placed in cleaning solutions consisting of a 1% strength aqueous solution of the formulation according to the invention at 75° C. for 2:30 min. The test specimens were then rinsed with water and dried.
A negative control was carried out with tap water and a positive control with a 9% NaOH solution.
