Auch separate Cupholder, die schalttafelseitig vorgesehen sind, werden oft zur Aufnahme kleinerer Objekte genutzt, oder das voluminösere Handschuhfach, das aber für den Fahrer regelmäßig nicht gut zugänglich ist. Aufgrund der wenigen Verstaumöglichkeiten werden daher oft eine Vielzahl an unterschiedlichen Gegenständen beispielsweise in das kleine Mittelkonsolenfach gegeben, wie beispielsweise Geldstücke, Park- oder Einkaufschips, Parkscheine, Stifte, Lebensmittel und ähnliches, so dass die Belegung sehr unübersichtlich ist.
