Description
The invention relates to a copper-tin-bronze continuous casting alloy which is lead-free and which should be particularly suitable for the production of machine parts or gear parts such as gears, worm wheels, bushings or linear guide elements and should therefore be easy to machine.
The present invention is based on the object of providing a copper-tin-bronze continuous casting alloy of the type mentioned at the beginning, which can be easily machined after casting and has good mechanical strength and load properties and which can be easily and economically produced and cast.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by a continuously cast alloy having the features of claim 1.
Auch erscheint Kupfersulfid im Schliffbild der Legierung kugeliger, was als vorteilhaft angesehen wirdWith the present invention it was found that, on the one hand, the claimed composition enables good castability, i.e. an advantageous structure, to be achieved. The addition of sulfur and the sulphides that form from this cause the latter to improve the machinability of the material by acting as a chip breaker during machining. The sulfides that are formed also have a lubricating property and in this respect can at least partially replace the same property of the substituted lead. It was also found that the limitation of the zinc content in connection with the addition of sulfur has an advantageous effect in that it reduces the quantitative formation of zinc sulfide in favor of copper sulfide. It is assumed on this side that the advantage can be justified by the fact that zinc sulfide is harder than copper sulfide, which would prove to be less advantageous with regard to the improvement in machinability and machinability intended here. Copper sulfide also appears more spherical in the cross-section of the alloy, which is considered to be advantageous
As a result of the claimed nickel content, the resulting lattice is further tensioned in addition to solid solution strengthening by tin. Nickel can also form intermetallic phases with other alloy elements, which serve as nuclei for refining the structure, for example nickel-iron phases.
When a lead-free alloy is mentioned in the present case, this means that lead is not actively added as an alloying element and that a contamination-related residue of lead of at most 0.10% by weight, in particular of at most 0.09% by weight, in particular of at most 0.08% by weight, in particular of at most 0.07, in particular of at most 0.06 and preferably of at most 0.05% by weight.
It also proves to be advantageous if the continuously cast alloy comprises 0.1-0.6, in particular 0.2-0.6, in particular 0.3-0.6% by weight of sulfur.
Furthermore, it proves to be advantageous if the continuously cast alloy is at most up to 1.0% by weight of phosphorus, at most up to 0.20% by weight of iron, at most up to 0.20% by weight of manganese, at most up to 0.15% by weight. -% antimony and at most up to 0.20% by weight boron. Phosphorus can prove to be advantageous within the claimed continuously cast alloy because it can cause deoxidation of the melt, while hydrogen can be effectively driven off by the tin, which is present in large quantities. As already mentioned, iron can form advantageous phases with nickel. Boron acts as a grain refiner, and manganese can form intermetallic phases, in particular with nickel, and thus increase the strength at room temperature as well as at higher temperatures, and it can also be used to deoxidize the melt. antimony settles on the grain boundaries and thereby embrittles the material.
In particular, it is provided that the continuously cast alloy up to 1.0% by weight of phosphorus, up to 0.20% by weight of iron at most, up to 0.20% by weight of manganese, and up to 0.15% by weight at most antimony and comprises a maximum of up to 0.20% by weight boron and the remainder copper and impurity-related components of less than 0.1% by weight each and a total of at most 0.8% by weight, in particular at most 0.5% by weight includes.
According to one embodiment of the invention it is provided that the continuously cast alloy comprises 9.0-11.0% by weight of tin and 0.1-2.0% by weight of nickel and 0.005-0.2% by weight of phosphorus. Since this alloy also allows rather high nickel contents, a rather high degree of tensioning of the lattice with correspondingly high strength can thereby be achieved, with phosphorus predominantly functioning as a deoxidizing agent.
According to a further embodiment it is provided that the continuously cast alloy is 11.0-13.0% by weight tin and 0.1-0.5% by weight nickel and 0.15-0.60% by weight phosphorus and at most comprises up to 0.30 wt% zinc. With these rather increased phosphorus contents, phosphorus forms an intermetallic phase (Cu 3 P) with copper, which forms a hard, stabilizing network at the grain boundaries. For this to happen, it proves to be advantageous if the nickel content to a maximum of 0.5 wt .-% is limited, so that nickel-phosphorus phases, such as Ni 3 P, not in form to a great extent since these as would prove too harsh. A further reduction in zinc is also found to be beneficial.
According to a further embodiment, it is proposed that the continuously cast alloy be 10.0-11.5% by weight tin and 0.05-0.30% by weight nickel and 0.5-1.0% by weight phosphorus and at most comprises up to 0.05 wt% zinc. The reduction in the proportion of tin compared to the previous embodiment is compensated for by an increase in the proportion of phosphorus to the extent that the somewhat less solid solution hardening due to tin due to a higher proportion of phosphorus-containing phases, preferably copper-phosphorus phases and their effect due to formation in the area the grain boundaries can be compensated or even exceeded. In order to still maintain the machinability, the zinc content is further reduced so that the added sulfur only forms a very small amount of zinc sulfide.
According to a further embodiment it is proposed that the continuously cast alloy comprises 10.5-13.0% by weight tin and 0.1-2.0% by weight nickel and 0.005-0.2% by weight phosphorus. With a tin content of 10.5 to 13.0% by weight, greater strength can be achieved than with a tin content of less than 10.5% by weight. The tensile strength is also increased.
According to a further embodiment it is proposed that the continuously cast alloy comprises 10.5-13.0% by weight tin and 0.05-2.0% by weight nickel and 0.5 to 1.0% by weight phosphorus. Due to its higher phosphorus content, this alloy is characterized by a higher hardness and higher wear resistance, whereby both copper-phosphorus phases and, depending on the nickel content, nickel-phosphorus phases that further harden to a greater or lesser extent are formed. However, the machinability of this alloy composition is somewhat lower than in the previous embodiments.
It is further proposed that the continuously cast alloy be designed in such a way that it contains 0.1-1.5% by weight of nickel, in particular 0.1-1.0% by weight of nickel, in particular 0.1-0.8% by weight. % Nickel, in particular 0.2-0.7% by weight nickel, in particular 0.5% by weight nickel. The lower nickel content prevents nickel from counteracting the improved machinability provided by sulfur.
If, on the other hand, a further embodiment provides that the continuously cast alloy comprises 11.0-13.0% by weight of tin and 1.5-3.0% by weight of nickel and 0.05 to 0.4% by weight of phosphorus , then due to the high nickel content there is an overall higher hardness and wear resistance of the continuously cast alloy. Although the machinability is lower, it can still be described as satisfactory.
The present invention relates to a continuously cast alloy of the claimed composition in the molten state. The present invention also relates to a continuously cast alloy of the claimed composition in the cast state. The present invention also relates to a continuously cast blank or a continuously cast intermediate product, in particular in the form of a strand or tube, produced by casting a continuously cast alloy, the continuously cast blank or the continuously cast intermediate product at least 84% by weight copper, 9.0 - 13.0% by weight tin, 0.1-0.8% by weight sulfur, at most up to 0.5% by weight zinc and 0.05 to 3.0% by weight nickel.
The invention also relates to machined machine parts or gear parts, in particular gears, worm wheels, bushings or linear guide parts, machined valve parts for the conduction of fluids, produced by machining a continuously cast blank or a continuous cast intermediate product.
