Description
The invention relates to a cutting machine for continuously slicing product loaves, in particular food product loaves, with at least one slicing unit having a cutting head for separating product slices from a product loaf and at least one feed device for moving the product loaf against the slicing unit, the feed device at least one product loaf gripper and at least comprises two support parts set up for receiving the product loaf, the first support part being designed as a loading rocker pivotable between a loading position and a feed position and the second support part being connected downstream of the loading rocker.

In the context of this invention, the term “upstream” is understood to mean a direction opposite to the direction of passage of the product loaf in the cutting machine or the feed direction of the product loaf to the slicing unit. In a manner analogous to this, the term “downstream” in the context of this invention is understood to mean a direction in the same direction as the direction of passage or feed direction of the product loaf.
However, product loaf grippers get dirty very easily in practical operation and are difficult to clean. In addition, the operation of such product loaf grippers increases the downtime of a cutting machine when changing a product loaf, since the product gripper has to be moved back to the starting position after reaching the position closest to the cutting level before a new product loaf can be fed to the slicing unit.
The object of the present invention is thus to provide a cutting machine for continuously slicing product loaves, in particular food product loaves, with at least one slicing unit having a cutting head for separating product slices from a product loaf and at least one feed device for moving the product loaf against the slicing unit, wherein the Feeding device comprises at least one product loaf gripper and at least two support parts set up to receive the product loaf, the first support part being designed as a loading rocker that can be pivoted between a loading position and a feed position, and the second support part being connected downstream of the loading rocker, providing a reduction in standstill or Allows interruption times when changing the product loaf and improves hygiene when operating the cutting machine.
This is achieved according to the invention in that the loading rocker is mounted around a first axis of rotation in such a way that the loading rocker is in the loading position with its support part facing the second oriented end is deflected upwards in relation to the second support part, and the product loaf gripper is mounted pivotably about a second, second axis of rotation which is arranged lower in relation to the loading rocker.
In this way, kinematics can be implemented which completely prevents the product loaf from reaching over. The product loaf gripper is held during the predominant part of the time of the supply of the product loaf to the slicing unit in such a waiting position that is arranged with respect to its vertical alignment within the cutting machine below the receiving of the product loaf. Thus, in this waiting position, no contamination of the product loaf from any residues from previously processed product loaves or other abrasion, lubricants, etc ... that may have stuck to the product loaf gripper is possible. This represents a great advance over previous cutting devices in which the product loaf gripper is arranged either to the side or above the product loaf support and the product loaf gripper cannot avoid reaching over the product loaf. Only as soon as the product loaf to be sliced has completely passed the loading rocker and the loading rocker is deflected into the loading position to pick up a new product loaf, the product loaf gripper can be pivoted in the manner according to the invention from this waiting position around the second axis of rotation assigned to it into the space section released by the loading rocker. Since this pivoting movement occurs from a lower position in relation to the loading rocker, but in particular also in relation to the second support part, the pivoting movement of the loaf of product is limited to reaching the position assumed by the loading rocker in its feed position. Thus, the product loaf gripper can only be positioned in a direct linear extension of the product loaf to be sliced against its end area remote from the cutting head, so that in this engagement phase of the product loaf gripper any reaching over of the product loaf and thus any risk of contamination caused by this is avoided.
The dwell time of the loaf of product on the second support part until it is completely sliced and the time required to return the loaf of product to its starting position after the cutting process has been completed can be parameterized or set in such a way that these processes require approximately the same amount of time as the deflection of the loading rocker into the loading position, picking up a new loaf of product on the loading rocker and deflecting it back into the feed position. Compared to the previously known state of the art, the cutting machine according to the invention enables time savings when changing the product loaf, since the loading rocker can swing down into the lower-lying feed position in the loaded state with the aid of gravity, while the process of swinging up in the unloaded state of the loading rocker takes place in the opposite direction to gravity. In this way, higher rotational speeds of the loading rocker around the first axis of rotation assigned to it and thus time savings in the process timing in the cutting machine are possible.
Both support parts are set up to feed the loaf of product to the slicing unit and are therefore equipped with appropriate conveying devices. These can either be actively driven (e.g. conveyor belts) or supported by gravity (e.g. inclined roller conveyors). A “loading position” is to be understood in this context as a position of the feed device in which it is located in a position for taking over the loaf of product into the cutting machine. In this context, a “feed position” is to be understood as a position of the feed device in which it is in a position suitable for feeding the product loaf to the slicing unit.
In this context, it goes without saying for a person skilled in the art that the first and second axes of rotation are arranged upstream with respect to the second support part. In a particularly preferred manner, the first axis of rotation is arranged in the area of the end of the loading rocker remote from the cutting plane. In a likewise particularly preferred manner, the first axis of rotation coincides with the axis of rotation of the deflecting roller, which is remote from the cutting plane, of an endless conveyor assigned to the loading rocker.
It is advantageous if the end of the loading rocker, which is oriented towards the second support part, is oriented towards a loading device in the loading position and adjoins this with the formation of a flat conveying path. This facilitates the automated loading of the loading rocker with a new loaf of product and contributes to shortening the cycle times in the cutting machine and accelerating the product throughput and thus to the cost-effectiveness of the cutting machine. According to an alternative embodiment, the loading rocker in the loading position can also be aligned with the end oriented towards its axis of rotation against a loading device.
The inventive basic concept also provides in particular that the feed device has further conveying devices which are arranged in relation to the loading rocker in such a way that they are designed to interact with a top or side surface of a product loaf resting on the loading rocker. This can be, for example, an additional pressure band act or holding strap, which is applied or pressed against the product loaf from above after the takeover of a product loaf from the loading device onto the loading rocker. Such an additional fixation enables the loading rocker to be pivoted more quickly from the loading position into the feed position and thus a reduction in the downtime during the product change. Furthermore, this overhead retaining strap can be driven by a motor and set up to apply additional driving forces to the product loaf. In this way, higher acceleration or braking forces can be transmitted to the product loaf, which also contributes to the acceleration of the processing speed of a cutting machine according to the invention and thus to an increase in its economic efficiency.
The inventive concept also provides that the product loaf gripper comprises a collet that can be moved by a linear feed device. This can for example be a multi-stage telescopic actuator. In this way, the product loaf gripper can be attached in a direct extension to the end of the product loaf to be sliced away from the slicing unit or oriented upstream, as soon as the product loaf gripper has been pivoted into the space section previously released by the loading rocker in the manner according to the invention. If this inventive feature is dispensed with, the product loaf gripper would have to be arranged laterally offset to the second support part so that it does not collide with this second support part and / or its retaining strap while the product loaf is being fed against the slicing unit. As soon as the collets are brought into engagement in the product loaf, the product loaf gripper is followed by the linear feed device to the downstream conveyed product loaf and in particular fixes its upstream end as it approaches the cutting head, this follow-up taking place in direct extension of the product loaf. Such a fixation is particularly important at this stage of the process since, in particular, only a short remainder of a product loaf is no longer sufficiently stabilized in relation to the high cutting forces acting on the product loaf in the slicing unit. The fact that the product loaf gripper can be used as a direct extension of the second (near the cutting edge) support part made possible by the feed device according to the invention enables the product loaf gripper to be arranged directly below the support parts. This represents a major step forward compared to the hitherto customary arrangement of the product loaf to the side or above the product loaf. A lateral arrangement requires a lot of installation space and is very cumbersome, especially in multi-lane systems. An arrangement above the product loaf is disadvantageous from a hygienic point of view, since the collets of the product loaf gripper are difficult to clean from product residues and there is also the risk of contamination of the product loaf through abrasion or wear on the product loaf gripper.
