Abstract

The invention relates to a modular furniture system (14) with at least two U-shape modules (1), each of which has three surface elements arranged at right angles to one another, which are two side elements (2, 2 ') and a rear wall element (3 ), which have a groove (4, 5) in an upper and a lower edge. The furniture construction system has connecting rails (9) which can be inserted into the grooves in order to connect the two U-shaped modules arranged one above the other by means of at least one of the connecting rails. The connecting rails have a height that is greater than the total depth of the two grooves, so that a uniform gap (16) remains between the two U-shape modules when the connecting rail is inserted into both grooves over their full depth. The gap extends along the connecting rail. The furniture construction system also has an intermediate floor plate (10) which is dimensioned such that it can be arranged between the two U-shape modules in such a way that it has two opposite edge regions on the upper edges of two surface elements (2, 2 ' , 3) and one of two associated side edges (11) of the intermediate floor plate is adjacent to a side surface of the respective connecting rail when it is inserted. The two said surface elements are part of the same lower U-shape module or part of two lower U-shape modules. The furniture construction system according to the invention makes it possible to assemble a cabinet piece of furniture from it in a simple manner and allows a variety of design options with regard to the cabinet piece of furniture.

Description

The invention relates to a modular furniture system according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a furniture system has at least two modules that can be assembled into a desired piece of furniture.

A modular furniture system is over EP 2 499 936 B1 known. It has three pieces of furniture that can be put together to form a shelf or cabinet without additional connecting means. To connect the three pieces of furniture, magnets are also provided on one piece of furniture, which interact with screws on another piece of furniture in order to fix the two pieces of furniture to one another by utilizing the magnetic attraction. The freedom of design of the intended piece of furniture is limited if the individual furniture parts are not specially adapted in this regard.

WO 2015/120 985 A1 discloses a piece of furniture that can be assembled in a modular manner in the form of a shelf or cupboard, surface elements being fastened by means of a tongue and groove connection. For this purpose, connecting elements are provided which are arranged between two surface elements to be connected and have a magnet which interacts with another magnet of a surface element for fastening. This modularly constructed piece of furniture has a relatively large number of individual parts which have to be put together in order to obtain the desired piece of furniture.

In the DE 21 62 654 A describes a piece of furniture with adjoining plate-like wall parts which have essentially rectangular grooves on the front edges and are connected to one another by means of strip-like connecting elements.

Furthermore describes the DE 20 2014 008 354 U1 an attachment of support elements of a shelf by means of magnets.

The DE 10 2013 111 316 A1 discloses a shelving system in which floors with a groove are attached using a magnet, in particular a magnetic strip.

A generic modular furniture construction system is known from US 2005/0 104 484 A1.

The invention is based on the object of providing a modular furniture construction system which makes it possible to assemble a cabinet piece of furniture from it in a simple manner and allows a wide range of design options with regard to the cabinet piece of furniture.

This object is solved by the features of claim 1. The furniture construction system according to the invention has at least two modules, each of which has three surface elements arranged at right or almost right angles to one another. These surface elements are two side elements and a rear wall element. The modules therefore have a U-shape in cross-section. All three surface elements each have a groove in an upper and a lower edge, which is preferably arranged centrally in the edges and is preferably rectangular in section. The modules, which are referred to below as U-shape modules, represent basic modules of the furniture construction system. The surface elements can in particular be made from a wood-based material, solid wood or also from plastic. The rear wall element and the two side elements are preferably mitred at their rear edges and glued to one another. The two elements can also butt butt, and they can also be screwed together.

Furthermore, the furniture construction system has connecting rails which serve to connect two U-shape modules to one another in such a way that the second U-shape module is arranged above the first U-shape module. After assembly, these two modules can be arranged vertically one above the other by connecting the corresponding two side elements of the two modules and the rear wall elements of the two modules to one another by means of a connecting rail, or the two modules can also be arranged laterally offset one above the other by a right one Side element of one U-shape module and a left side element of the other U-shape module are arranged vertically one above the other and are connected to one another by means of a connecting rail.

The connecting rails, which could also be referred to as connecting strips, are designed so that they can be inserted into the grooves, the connecting rails preferably extending over the entire length of the respective groove. The connecting rails have a height which is greater than the sum of the depths of the two grooves, these grooves preferably having the same depth. In this way, when the two U-shape modules are plugged together, there is a uniform gap between the upper edge of the at least one surface element belonging to the lower module and the lower edge of the at least one surface element belonging to the upper module, which are connected to one another by means of a connecting rail are connected. The gap can therefore extend along one or three connecting rails, depending on whether the two U-shape modules are arranged vertically or offset one above the other.

This gap is preferably designed by appropriate dimensioning of the height of the connecting rails and the depth of the grooves so that it has a somewhat lower height than the thickness of an intermediate floor plate, which is to be arranged between the U-shape modules using this gap .

The intermediate floor plate is dimensioned such that it rests with two lateral edge areas and on the upper edges of two side elements and, with one of two side edges, lies adjacent to a lateral surface of the respective connecting rail when the furniture construction system is assembled. The intermediate base plate can also rest with a rear edge area on the rear wall element of the lower U-shape module, namely when the U-shape modules are arranged vertically one above the other.

The modular furniture construction system according to the invention allows assembly to a cabinet furniture in a simple manner. For this purpose, the connecting rails must be inserted with one edge into the grooves provided in one or, in the case of a staggered arrangement, two U-shape modules, and another U-shape module must be inserted onto the opposite free edge of the respective connecting rail. Furthermore, the at least one intermediate floor plate must be arranged. This is done either by pushing them into an existing gap between two U-shape modules that are connected to one another, for example until, when the U-shape modules are arranged vertically, their rear edge abuts the corresponding connecting rail, which connects the two rear wall elements Module connects. If the height of the gap is slightly less than the thickness of the intermediate floor plate, the upper U-shape module is raised slightly when the intermediate floor plate is pushed in, so that the respective connecting rails no longer have the full depth of the respective grooves in the upper module are plugged in. In this way, however, it is achieved that the weight of the upper module and possibly further modules arranged above it presses on the intermediate floor plate, so that this is additionally held in position by gravity. Alternatively, it can be provided for the assembly that, after the connecting rails have been inserted into the three upper grooves of a U-shape module or in two upper grooves of two U-shape modules arranged next to one another, an intermediate base plate is placed first and then another U-shape -Module is placed on the free edges of the connecting rails, which protrude beyond the intermediate floor plate.

The feature that the three surface elements are arranged at a right or almost right angle is to be understood in such a way that it can be a right angle or in particular a slightly smaller angle. For example, the angle can be between 88 ° and 90 °, in particular between 89 ° and 90 °. The angle is preferably between 89.5 ° and 90 °. Instead of “three surface elements arranged at right angles or almost at right angles to one another”, one could also speak of “three surface elements arranged essentially at right angles to one another”.

Before being combined with an intermediate floor panel, a U-shape module can have a slightly smaller width at the front edges of the side elements than at the rear edges of the side elements, between which the rear wall element is located. In this way it can be achieved that when inserting or inserting an intermediate floor plate, the side elements are pushed apart a little, and thus the side edges lie directly against the lateral surfaces of the connecting rails, as a result of which the intermediate floor plate is held particularly well in its position.

The modular furniture construction system can also have one or more L-shape modules, each of which has two surface elements arranged at right angles or almost at right angles to one another, which are a side element and a rear wall element, each having a groove in an upper and a lower edge have, which is preferably arranged centrally in the edges and is preferably rectangular in section. In other words, the surface elements are arranged essentially at right angles to one another. The respective L-shape module is intended to be connected vertically one above the other to a U-shape module by means of connecting rails if this U-shape module is laterally offset by a second U-shape module and only by means of a single connecting rail connected is. With such an arrangement of U-shape modules, a vertically uniform lateral termination can thus be achieved. If U-shape modules are laterally offset one above the other, there is a tension which holds the intermediate floor panels particularly well in their position.

The connecting rails are strip-like and preferably have uninterrupted, rectangular lateral surfaces. However, the connecting rails can also have an arrangement of holes to save weight. The connecting rails can be made of wood, in which case they could also be referred to as a connecting spring, or they can also be made of aluminum.

Although the intermediate floor panels can be held in position well in the respective manner as described above and it would also be possible to use some adhesive, it can be advantageous if the connecting rails are magnetic, which is here meant in the sense of ferromagnetic is. The connecting rails are preferably made of sheet iron. To save weight, they can also be made of plastic, in which a ferromagnetic material is integrated as an additive.

Because then the intermediate base plate can preferably have one or more magnets in each side edge and / or in a rear edge. The magnets are designed to cooperate with the ferromagnetic connecting rails by generating a magnetic attraction that holds the false floor panel in a horizontal orientation in the intended position of the assembled piece of furniture. It is preferably provided that the magnets lie directly on the lateral surface of the respective connecting rail, which can be achieved in particular if the U-shape modules are somewhat less wide at the front than at the rear as described above. It is advantageous if the magnets are embedded in the side edges or the rear edge of the intermediate floor panels, so that they are flush with the edge surface. Then both the at least one magnet and the rest of the surface of the respective side edge or rear edge can lie directly on the side surface of the respective connecting rail. It is advantageous if the magnets are arranged in a front area of the side edges, since then magnetic attraction only arises when the intermediate base plate has been inserted almost completely.

The magnets can be so-called pot magnets with a hole and a counterbore, which can thus be easily attached to the intermediate floor plates with screws. It is also possible to provide elongated magnets or magnetic strips, which can also preferably be fastened by means of screws. The magnets can be prefabricated attached to the intermediate floor panels of the furniture construction system or can be provided as part of the furniture construction system for later attachment when assembled to form a piece of furniture.

The modularly buildable furniture construction system according to the invention can have a coupling base plate, which serves to be used between two combinations of two or more assembled U-shape modules or L-shape modules. The two combinations are connected to one another by this coupling base plate. When the coupling base plate is inserted, it lies with two lateral edge areas, in each case on the upper edge of a side element of the respective lower module and with the associated side edges adjacent to a lateral surface of the respective connecting rail. This means that the coupling base plate also lies within a gap created between the two modules of the respective combination with an edge region, the gap being located in mirror image on the other side of the connecting rail in comparison to the gap for the intermediate base plate. The side edges preferably lie directly on the side surfaces of the connecting rails.

The coupling base plate also preferably has one or more magnets on each of the side edges which, after assembly, lie adjacent to the respective connecting rails in order to generate a magnetic attraction, and preferably bear directly on the respective lateral surface of the connecting rail. In particular, a magnet can be provided in a front area and a magnet in a rear area in each side edge of the coupling base plate.

It is advantageous if the magnets are embedded in the side edges of the coupling base plate so that they are flush with the edge surface. Then both the at least one magnet and the rest of the surface of the respective side edge can rest directly on the side surface of the respective connecting rail.

The magnets of the coupling base plate can also be pot magnets with a bore and a countersink, elongated magnets or magnetic strips, it being possible for these types of magnets to be screwable in each case. The magnets can be prefabricated attached to the coupling base plate of the furniture construction system or can be provided as part of the furniture construction system for later attachment when assembled to form a piece of furniture.

If a particularly high stability of the piece of furniture to be built is to be achieved, provision can also be made to fasten the coupling base plate with screws which are guided through the adjacent connecting rail.

A bottom base plate with feet, which are preferably height-adjustable, is preferably provided in the bottom U-shaped module. Furthermore, one or more lower coupling base plates with preferably height-adjustable feet can also be provided. Both the base plate and the lower ones Coupling base plates can have one or more magnets on the side edges which, in interaction with ferromagnetic connecting rails, exert a force by which the base base plate or the lower coupling base plate is held in the intended horizontal position. Connection rails are inserted in grooves in the lower edges of the associated side elements.

The modular furniture construction system according to the invention can in particular be designed in such a way that when assembled, it results in a cabinet furniture. This cabinet furniture can be, for example, a shelf, a sideboard, a cupboard, a shelf cabinet or a desk. In the case of a cabinet, sliding doors in particular can be provided on the front of the U-shape module, but also hinged swing doors. A desk can be designed in particular by providing two combinations of U-shape modules with a coupling base plate arranged in between as a writing plate. Drawers are also possible.

The two in 1 U-shape modules shown are each with the reference symbol 1 designated. They each have two side elements 2nd and 2 ' as well as a rear wall element 3rd on.
