The object of the invention is to provide a packaging container according to the preamble of claim 1, which is designed to be less complex in terms of its construction and, in particular, withstands lateral loads better.

According to the invention it is provided that the container edge of the container has an at least partially circumferential apron which extends upwards from the sealing edge and which has at least one inside projection on which the cover, which is preferably made of cardboard or cardboard, can be fixed.

The surface element received within the skirt of the container edge additionally stiffens the container in the edge area. The container edge can be compressed less easily because the container edge is supported on the surface element. The surface element can consist of plastic, sheet metal, glass, cardboard or cardboard or combinations thereof and is in particular a simple, flat cut of a surface material that cannot be further reshaped. A layer of a decoration or label can be glued, printed, lacquered or laminated on as a film on its upper and / or lower side. The surface element can be transparent at least in certain areas in order to enable a view of the contents of the container or of the sealing film underneath. Furthermore, means can be formed in the surface element which are designed to grip the surface element and to remove it from the receptacle in the container edge. The planar element is preferably formed from cardboard or cardboard, as a result of which the use of plastic material on the packaging container is reduced.

The sealing film can consist of aluminum, plastic or a composite of these. In particular, the sealing film consists of the same type of plastic as the container, so that the container and the sealing film can be fed to the same recycling material flow.

Food-safe plastics are e.g. polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polystyrene (PS). The sealing film is attached to the sealing edge by heat sealing or by gluing.

The receiving space of the container formed from the side wall and bottom is preferably closed, but can also have openings which, for example, form a lattice structure in the side wall. Furthermore, the container can be round and / or angular and in particular have conical side walls, that is to say side walls inclined with respect to a longitudinal center axis, whereby not only can they be manufactured by plastic injection molding but also stackability of identical containers nested one inside the other. The stack spacing can be defined by webs on the underside of the sealing edge or by support webs formed under the base. In particular, the container can have a frustoconical basic shape, with a cone angle of usually 5 to 8 °.

The at least one projection is preferably in the shape of a ramp, with a distance from the inside of the apron that increases steadily in the direction of the sealing edge and a shoulder at the end, preferably at right angles to the apron, which is spaced apart from the sealing edge. The surface element engages under the projection and is held by the shoulder against the sealing edge or the sealing film arranged on it. The surface element can be removed from the container and put back on again several times. In particular, it serves as a cover for the container opening and thus to protect the food when the sealing film is open or completely removed from the sealing edge. For a perfect fit of the cover, preferably at least three inside projections are provided which are distributed over the circumference.

In a preferred further embodiment, it is provided that the at least one projection is formed by a bulge in the apron, so that a knob-like projection is created, over which the surface element can be easily pushed or pulled past without damage.

In a preferred further embodiment, the bulge has a recess formed as an opening on the underside opposite the sealing edge. As a result, a curved to U-shaped edge is formed on the underside of the projection, which opens into the apron at both ends and via which the surface element is held against the sealing edge. There are no sharp edges as with ramp-shaped retaining bars, so that the surface element can be easily removed.

In a preferred further embodiment, the recess formed as an opening extends into the skirt section located below the at least one projection. A surface element provided with a projection is secured against twisting via the recess formed in this way in the apron and can in particular be aligned with a decoration in the side wall.

In a preferred further embodiment, the recess extends into the sealing edge. The opening of the container edge extending below the projection into the sealing edge enables the projection and thus the entire container to be easily molded using a simple open-close injection molding tool.

In a preferred further embodiment, it is provided that the surface element has at least one recess, preferably arranged on the edge, as an engagement opening, via which the surface element can be gripped and removed from the container edge.

In a preferred further embodiment it is provided that the surface element has at least one grip tab on the edge side. The grip tab can be located in a recess in the apron and in particular protrude outwardly with respect to the sealing edge. By means of a hinge-like connection to the further surface element, the grip tab, supported on the inside of the apron, can also protrude upward at an angle for grasping.

In a preferred further embodiment, it is provided that at least one gap is cut out in the apron, in which a detectable section of the surface element can lie. A plurality of gaps are preferably formed in the apron so that the surface element with its detectable section can be placed on the container opening in virtually any orientation. The respectively remaining sections of the apron are minimally as long in the circumferential direction as the projections formed in them.

In a preferred further embodiment, it is provided that the edge has a section that can be bent and / or torn off as a tamper-evident tab. Only by actuating the tamper-evident flap can a section of the surface element thus exposed can be grasped.

The section which can be bent and / or torn off preferably projects outwardly with respect to the further edge. In a preferred further embodiment, a sealing surface that is raised with respect to the further sealing edge is provided, a groove being formed between the raised sealing surface and the apron. During sealing, the sealing film rests on the sealing surface over its entire surface and is not pushed away from the sealing surface by the further sealing edge. The raised sealing surface runs in the direction of its longitudinal extent at least in sections along the receiving space and preferably has at least one energy director in the form of a rib protruding with respect to the sealing surface.

In a preferred further embodiment, it is provided that the sealing film has a grip tab which is preferably arranged outside the sealing area.
