Abstract

Description

The present invention relates to a laundry care device with a UV light-emitting lighting device.

In conventional laundry care devices, disinfectants are usually added to the laundry in order to disinfect the laundry and thus reduce the bacterial load in the laundry. In the case of delicate items of laundry, however, the improper addition of disinfectant can possibly damage the items of laundry, or in the case of heavily soiled items, the addition of disinfectant alone cannot be sufficient to ensure effective disinfection of the items of laundry.

In the US 8,276,290 B2 discloses a washing machine with a light source which is designed to emit UV light into the interior of a laundry drum.

It is the object of the invention to provide a laundry care device which ensures effective disinfection of the laundry to be cared for.

This object is achieved by the subject with the features according to the independent claim. Advantageous embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims, the description and the drawings.
