Description
The invention relates to a lighting device with a photoelectric sensor device, a method and a vehicle.
For the representation of light distributions and light patterns lighting devices can be used which have a light source and a mirror arrangement. For such mirror arrays so-called micromirror arrays or DMD (Digital Micromirror Device) projectors and other light emitting devices may be used. The mirrors of the mirror arrangement are arranged in a pattern or raster in a plane, wherein a mirror is assigned to a respective pixel of the light pattern. To generate a light pattern, the mirror arrangement is illuminated by the light source. Depending on a position of the respective mirror, a light beam incident on the mirror is guided either into an abstraction or a light sink. If the light beam is led into the abstract optic, the respective pixel of the light pattern is radiated into the environment. Otherwise, the pixel in the environment remains unlit and the light beam goes into the light sink. Thus, a negative image (light-dark-inverted image) of the light pattern is imaged in the light sink.
It is possible to use as a light sink a light-heat converter, which converts light into thermal energy. The light sink can be designed, for example, as a receiving chamber. This thermal energy must be dissipated, which in turn requires energy and can negatively affect energy efficiency. Currently available mirror arrangements may typically be operated up to a maximum of 60 ° C and therefore must be actively cooled, for example, with a Peltier element.
Such lighting devices usually have no diagnostic device which can detect faulty states. An error may be, for example, an incorrect position of a mirror. In DMD projectors, as used for example in presentations or in cinemas, a judgment of the image pattern by a user takes place itself. An automatic error detection is not expected here. Especially in the automotive sector, however, automatic fault detection is essential to be able to warn and initiate countermeasures. An incorrect position of a mirror can occur, for example, if the respective mirror is mechanically stuck or frozen.
It is an object of the invention to provide a possibility for error detection in a lighting device, for example for projection onto a roadway or a head-up display with a mirror arrangement.
According to the invention, a lighting device with a photoelectric sensor device, a vehicle and a method are provided.
A first aspect of the invention relates to a lighting device which has a light source, a heat sink, an abstraction and a mirror arrangement. The mirror arrangement has at least one mirror, wherein the respective mirror is adapted to reflect a respective light beam emitted by the light source in a first position in the abstract optics and in a second, alternative position to reflect in a receiving chamber of the heat sink. In the receiving chamber, a photoelectric sensor device is arranged, which is adapted to detect the respectively reflected in at least one predetermined position of the mirror in the receiving chamber light beam.
In other words, the lighting device on the light source, which emits the light beam to the respective mirror of the mirror assembly. The respective mirror is adapted to occupy at least two alternative positions. In the first position of the mirror, the latter has a position through which the light beam emitted by the light source is guided through the mirror into the emission optics of the lighting device. For example, the abstraction may be a projection lens. In the second position, the mirror is arranged such that the light beam emitted by the light source is guided into the receiving chamber of the heat sink. He is thus not led into the abstract optics, but in the acting as a light sink receiving chamber. In the receiving chamber, the photoelectric sensor device is arranged, which is adapted to detect the respectively guided in the receiving chamber light beam.
The lighting device can be, for example, a projector for projecting light patterns onto a windshield (head-up display) or for projecting light patterns onto a roadway. The light source may be, for example, a diode, in particular a light-emitting diode (LED). The heat sink can be, for example, a passive heat sink, which has cooling fins for enlarging a surface of the heat sink, or an active heat sink, such as a Peltier element. The Abstrahloptik can be for example a lens of a projector. The mirror assembly may be a digital micromirror element having the at least one mirror. The respective mirror can be aligned by means of an electric field. In the first position, the mirror may be oriented such that one of the light source emitted light beam which impinges on the mirror is reflected in the abstract optics. The angle may be selected in the second position so that a light beam emitted by the light source is reflected into the receiving chamber of the heat sink. The light beam may strike the photoelectric sensor device directly in the receiving chamber. It can also be provided that the light beam is not guided directly onto the photoelectric sensor device, but onto an inner wall of the receiving chamber. In this case, the light beam can be detected by detecting the scattered light of the light beam by the photoelectric sensor device. The scattered light may be diffused or reflected light, for example. The receiving chamber may have a shape which shades scattered light in the direction of the abstract optics, so that it does not get into the abstract optics. The photoelectric sensor device may be, for example, a photodiode, a CCD sensor, a CMOS sensor, a phototransistor, or a similar sensor. By means of the photoelectric sensor, a light beam guided into the receiving chamber can thus be detected.
The invention provides the advantage that a reflected light beam into the receiving chamber can be detected. It may also be possible to make a diagnosis of the amount of light.
A development of the invention provides that the photoelectric sensor device has at least two subsegments, wherein the respective subsegment is set up to detect the respective light beam of different mirrors. In other words, the photoelectric sensor device has two or more sub-segments, wherein the sub-segment is contiguous surfaces of the photoelectric sensor device, which are arranged to detect one or more light beams of respective different mirrors. It may be provided that the photoelectric sensor device has, for example, a plurality of areas as subsegments, wherein a respective subsegment is assigned to one or more mirrors. This has the advantage that a malfunction of the mirror assembly can be located more accurately.
A development of the invention provides that the respective sub-segment of the photoelectric sensor device is set up to detect the respective light beam of a single respective mirror of the mirror arrangement. In other words, the respective sub-segment is configured to detect the respective light beam only of the respective mirror. For example, it can be provided that the mirrors of the mirror arrangement, as well as the subsegments of the photoelectric sensor device, are arranged in a pattern. The mirrors can be set so that in the second position they reflect the respective light beam onto the respective subsegment. Thus, a mirror may be assigned a respective subsegment. This results in the advantage that a malfunction can be assigned to a respective mirror.
A development of the invention provides that the photoelectric sensor device has at least two photoelectric sensor elements, wherein the respective photoelectric sensor element is adapted to detect light beams of a predetermined wavelength spectrum. The detectable wavelength spectra of the at least two photoelectric sensor elements differ at least partially. In other words, the sensor device has at least two photoelectric sensor elements. A respective sensor element is set up to detect a predetermined wavelength spectrum. These wavelength spectra do not match completely. For example, it is possible that a respective photoelectric sensor element is tuned to a detection of a predetermined color. This can be used, for example, if the light source is followed by a filter or a color wheel which has segments as a color filter. One of the photoelectric sensor elements can be tuned to a wavelength spectrum of the light beam emitted by the light source, and another of the photoelectric sensor elements to a wavelength spectrum of the filter or the segment. This has the advantage that, for example, a color change and / or a degeneration of a color filter can be detected. Thus, a detection of an RGB negative image (RGB, red-green-blue) is possible. This is relevant, for example, in the projection of colored images as a red-green-blue image.
A further development of the invention provides that the lighting device has a converter screen which is set up to convert an input spectrum of the incoming light beam emitted by the light source into an output spectrum of an outgoing light beam transmitted to the respective mirror, wherein at least one of the photoelectric sensor elements for detecting the Input spectrum is set up and at least one of the photoelectric sensor elements is arranged to detect the output spectrum. The converter screen may be formed, for example, as a phosphorus-containing converter screen. In other words, the lighting device has a converter screen, which is connected downstream of the light source. A light beam emitted by the light source with an input spectrum impinges on the converter screen as an incoming light beam. Due to a stimulation of the converter screen the incoming light beam is converted to an outgoing light beam having an output spectrum which is at least partially different from the input spectrum. One of the photoelectric sensor elements of the photoelectric sensor device is set up to detect the input spectrum, and at least one other of the photoelectric sensor elements is set up to detect the output spectrum. It can be provided, for example, that an incoming light beam is emitted by the light source with an input spectrum which has an intensity maximum in a blue color range. This input spectrum can be designed for excitation wavelengths of the converter screen. The converter screen can be excited by the incoming light beam with the input spectrum and emit an outgoing light beam with an output spectrum. The intensity in the blue color range may be smaller in the output spectrum than in the input spectrum. The intensity of the output spectrum in the yellow color range can be higher for this than in the input spectrum. By adjusting the intensity of the blue spectrum and the yellow spectrum, a color temperature of the output spectrum can be determined. By combining the blue and yellow areas, the output spectrum can be perceived as white. This outgoing light beam can be guided by means of the mirror on the photoelectric sensor device. This photoelectric sensor device may comprise a sensor element which is designed for the input spectrum and a sensor element which is designed for the output spectrum. An ideal converter screen may be configured to fully absorb the incoming light beam so that a light beam guided onto the photoelectric sensor device has only one intensity in the output spectrum and no intensity in the input spectrum. If there is a degeneration of the converter screen, the proportion of the input spectrum detected by the photoelectric sensor device may increase. At the same time, the proportion of the output spectrum detected by the photoelectric sensor device may drop. By the ratio of the intensity of the input spectrum to the output spectrum, degeneration of the converter screen can be detected.
A development of the invention provides that the photoelectric sensor device has a photovoltaic element. In other words, the sensor device has a photovoltaic element which is set up to convert part of the detected light into electrical energy. For example, it can be provided that the photoelectric sensor device has a silicon photovoltaic element or an organic solar cell. This results in the advantage that at least a portion of the light which is reflected in the receiving chamber, is recovered as electrical energy.
A further development of the invention provides that the receiving chamber has a collecting mirror, which is set up to reflect the respective light beam reflected into the receiving chamber onto the photoelectric sensor device. In other words, a collecting mirror is arranged in the receiving chamber, which reflects light rays reflected into the receiving chamber onto the photoelectric sensor device. This results in the advantage that the photoelectric sensor device can be arranged at a location of the receiving chamber, from which less stray light can leave the receiving chamber, as in an arrangement without collecting mirror. It can be provided, for example, that the photoelectric sensor device is arranged in the receiving chamber such that reflected beams of the photoelectric sensor device do not strike the abstraction. This has the advantage that a better contrast ratio can be made possible.
A development of the invention provides that the collecting mirror is curved. In other words, the collecting mirror has a curved surface. It can be provided, for example, that light beams guided onto the collecting mirror are focused onto the photoelectric sensor device by the curved collecting mirror. This has the advantage that the reflected light beams are focused on the photoelectric sensor device.
A development of the invention provides that an inner wall of the receiving chamber is coated with an absorption layer for absorbing light. In other words, the inner wall of the receiving chamber has a layer which has a predetermined absorbance of light. The inner wall may be coated, for example, with black metal or a lacquer. This results in the advantage that less stray light leaves the receiving chamber.
A development of the invention provides that the lighting device is adapted to send by a control unit a control signal concerning a desired position of the at least one mirror of the mirror assembly to the mirror assembly and to radiate the light beams of the lighting device to the mirror assembly. The lighting device is configured to detect the reflected light rays in the receiving chamber by means of the photoelectric sensor device and to provide an actual signal of the photoelectric sensor device to the control unit. The control unit is configured to compare an expected for the control signal expectation signal with the actual signal and to generate at a predetermined deviation of the actual signal of the expected signal an error signal.
A development of the invention provides that the mirror arrangement is designed as a micromirror array.
A second aspect of the invention relates to a method for operating a lighting device. During the method, a control signal relating to a desired position of at least one mirror of a mirror arrangement is sent to the mirror arrangement by a control unit. The control signal relates to the position to be assumed by at least one mirror. The mirror of the mirror assembly is in a first position at a first angle, in which it reflects light rays from the lighting device in an abstract look. In a second position, the mirror is at a second angle, in which it reflects light rays in a receiving chamber of a heat sink. In a next step, light beams are radiated from the lighting device into the mirror assembly. By a photoelectric sensor device reflected light rays are detected in the receiving chamber. From the photoelectric sensor device, an actual signal is sent to the control unit. The actual signal is compared by the control unit with an expected for the control signal expectation signal. In the case of exceeding a predetermined deviation of the actual signal from the expected signal, an error signal is output by the control unit. In other words, the control unit sends the control signal to the mirror arrangement, which controls a position of the respective mirror. From the lighting device light beams are radiated into the mirror assembly, which are reflected depending on the respective position of the mirror either in the receiving chamber or in the abstract optics. By a photoelectric sensor device, the light rays reflected in the receiving chamber are detected. Depending on the detected light beams, an actual signal is sent to the control unit. The control unit compares the actual signal with an expected signal to be expected in the control signal. When a predetermined deviation of the expected signal from the actual signal is exceeded, the error signal is output by the control unit.
It is for example possible that the control unit is designed as a microcontroller or microprocessor and the control signal describes a position to be adopted by the respective mirror of the mirror arrangement, which is sent to the mirror arrangement. A diode (LED) may emit light rays as a light source into the mirror assembly, the light beams being reflected in dependence on the position of the respective mirror. In the receiving chamber of the heat sink, a photodiode can be arranged as a photoelectric sensor device, which can detect the light rays reflected in the receiving chamber. Depending on the detected light beams, the photoelectric sensor device can transmit an actual signal to the control unit. The actual signal may, for example, describe an intensity of all light beams detected by the sensor device. The control unit can compare the actual signal with the expected signal. The expectation signal can be dependent on the control signal. For example, it can be provided that the expected signal describes half of a maximum value when the control signal controls the mirror arrangement in such a way that half of the mirrors reflect light beams into the receiving chamber. The control unit may be configured to output an error signal if a predetermined deviation of the actual signal from the expected signal is exceeded. The deviation may describe a predetermined measurement tolerance of the photoelectric sensor device.

Another aspect of the invention relates to a motor vehicle with a lighting device according to the invention.
