Description
The present invention relates to a vehicle roof for a motor vehicle. Furthermore, the invention relates to a motor vehicle with a generic vehicle roof.
In the development of new motor vehicles, the reduction of emissions of motor vehicles, in particular CO 2 , CO or the like, is a central goal. The emissions of a motor vehicle can be influenced by several properties of the motor vehicle, such as the efficiency of the drive train, the air resistance of the vehicle body, the rolling resistance of the chassis or the vehicle weight. Many of these properties already have a very high level of development, so further improvement of these emission reduction properties is very costly.
The reduction of vehicle weight offers a high saving potential for emissions, since a lower vehicle weight with a given driving dynamics requires less drive power and thus fuel consumption can be reduced. Lower fuel consumption can reduce emissions.
To reduce the vehicle weight, it has proven useful to replace sheet metal components by fiber composite components or fiber reinforced plastic components, for example made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) or aramid fiber reinforced plastic (AFK). Fiber composite components or fiber-reinforced plastics have the advantage that they have a high mechanical strength at a relatively low weight. By continuously improving the manufacturing processes of the fiber composite components, a multiplicity of sheet-metal components in motor vehicles can now be economically replaced by fiber composite components.
In self-supporting vehicle bodies made of sheet metal, it is known to replace a metal roof with a roof system, which has to ensure a mechanical stability transverse to the vehicle longitudinal roof skirts formed of a metal, which connect a left side of the body with the right side of the body. The roof hoops can for example be fixed to a roof frame of the vehicle body, in particular by welding, riveting or the like. In addition, known roof systems for sealing a passenger compartment of a vehicle roof of a relatively thin fiber composite material, which is often designed for optical reasons often monolithic and fixed to the roof frame above the roof bow. Dynamic forces and moments acting between the vehicle body and the roof system during operation of the motor vehicle are transmitted between the roof frame and the roof hoop. The vehicle roof is not designed for such a mechanical stress.
Known roof systems with roof bows and a vehicle roof have the disadvantage that they have a relatively high weight due to the metallic roof bows and are relatively expensive to produce. Moreover, vehicle bodies of motor vehicles with such roof systems often have a very low rigidity and unfavorable voltage characteristics, since the roof bows are only partially connected to the roof frame. Ultimately, such roof systems cause only a moderate noise protection within the passenger compartment due to the relatively thin vehicle roof.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to remedy the disadvantages described above in a vehicle roof and a motor vehicle with a vehicle roof or at least partially correct. In particular, it is an object of the present invention to provide a vehicle roof and a motor vehicle with a vehicle roof, in a simple and cost-effective manner reducing the vehicle weight and / or reducing the manufacturing cost and / or improving the rigidity of the vehicle body and / or to ensure an improvement of the acoustic insulation.
The above problem is solved by the claims. Accordingly, the object is achieved by a vehicle roof with the features of the
According to a first aspect of the invention, the object is achieved by a vehicle roof for a motor vehicle. The vehicle roof has a roof outer skin made of a fiber composite material, a roof core made of a foamed material and a roof inner skin made of a fiber composite material. The roof core is arranged between the roof outer skin and the roof inner skin in a sandwich layer. The roof outer skin, the Roof core and the roof inner skin are formed and interconnected such that the vehicle roof is designed to absorb pressure forces and / or torsional moments of a vehicle body of the motor vehicle.
The roof outer skin is a part of the vehicle roof, which faces away from a passenger compartment of the motor vehicle in the installed state. Preferably, the roof outer skin is designed analogous to known CFK roofs in visual optics. Under visual optics is understood within the scope of the invention that a fiber structure visible from the outside. Usually, one of the roof inner skin facing away from the roof outer skin is directly exposed in the installed state of a vehicle environment of the motor vehicle. It can be provided according to the invention that on the side of the roof outer skin, which faces away from the roof inner skin, an additional layer, such as. a film, a lacquer layer or the like, is arranged, wherein preferably a visual appearance of the fiber structure of the roof outer skin is visible from the outside.
The roof inner skin is a part of the vehicle roof, which faces in the installed state of the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. According to the invention it can be provided that the roof inner skin directly limits the passenger compartment. Alternatively, it may be provided that on one side of the roof inner skin facing away from the roof outer skin, an additional layer, such as e.g. a film, a lacquer layer or the like, is arranged, wherein preferably a fiber structure of the roof inner skin is visible from the passenger compartment.
The roof outer skin and the inner roof skin are preferably designed and connected to one another, in particular fixed to one another, such as e.g. by gluing that a cavity is formed, which is preferably closed to the outside from all sides. In this cavity, the foamed material is arranged. It may be provided according to the invention that the foamed material completely fills the cavity and completely wets the sides of the roof outer skin and the inner roof facing the cavity. In the context of the invention, complete wetting is understood to mean that the foamed material is distributed over the entire sides.
Alternatively it can be provided that the foamed material has a macroscopic structure, in particular a rib structure, honeycomb structure or the like, so that free spaces remain in the cavity, within which no foamed material is arranged. In the context of the invention, a macroscopic structure is understood to mean a structure which has a geometrical configuration that can be seen with the naked eye. According to the invention it can be provided that these free spaces are filled with a second material, in particular a second foam material, after which the second material preferably has a lower density than the foamed material of the macroscopic structure. The foamed material has the particular advantage that it ensures good transmission of pressure forces with low weight.
The vehicle roof according to the invention can be produced, for example, in one step in a transfer molding process or resin transfer molding (RTM) process, wet pressing process, spraying process or injection molding process. Alternatively, the vehicle roof can also be produced in a multi-stage process. Here, for example, the roof outer skin and the roof inner skin are first produced. Subsequently, the material is applied for foaming, for example, on an inner side of the roof outer skin and the roof outer skin is pressed with the roof inner skin during the foaming of the material.
An inventive vehicle roof has over conventional vehicle roofs and roof systems the advantage that this can be produced by simple means and in a cost-effective manner and has a high inherent rigidity with a particularly low total weight. The vehicle roof according to the invention makes it possible to dispense with cost-intensive and heavy roof hoops because of their high inherent rigidity. Thus, with the vehicle roof according to the invention with reduced total weight, an overall rigidity of a vehicle body of the motor vehicle can be improved. As a result, for example, a crash behavior of the motor vehicle is improved. In addition, the sandwich construction has the advantage that a special good sound insulation and thermal insulation is provided.
According to a preferred development of the invention may be provided in a vehicle roof, that the roof outer skin comprises a carbon fiber reinforced plastic or is formed of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic. Preferably, the outer roof skin is substantially formed of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic. Preferably, the outer roof skin is formed such that the carbon fiber reinforced plastic is visible from the outside. A carbon fiber reinforced plastic is produced by simple means, e.g. in a RTM process, can be produced and has a low inherent weight high rigidity and a good resistance to environmental influences.
It is inventively preferred that the roof outer skin and / or the roof inner skin are formed monolithic. A monolithic roof outer skin has the advantage that it provides a particularly good protection against environmental influences due to non-existent joints. Moreover, a monolithic roof outer skin and the roof inner skin have the advantage that mechanical properties of the vehicle roof, such as, for example, compressive rigidity, torsional stiffness or the like, are thereby improved.
More preferably, the foamed material of the roof core comprises expanded polypropylene (ePP) and / or expanded polyethylene terephthalate (ePET) or is formed from expanded polypropylene and / or expanded polyethylene terephthalate. The raw materials required for this purpose are available at low cost and can easily be foamed to form a solid foam, which is designed to convey high pressure forces.
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the roof inner skin comprises a carbon fiber reinforced plastic and / or a glass fiber reinforced plastic and / or an aramid fiber reinforced plastic or is formed from a carbon fiber reinforced plastic and / or a glass fiber reinforced plastic and / or a aramid fiber reinforced plastic. Preferably, the roof inner skin is essentially formed of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic and / or a glass fiber reinforced plastic and / or an aramid fiber reinforced plastic. Such a plastic can be obtained by simple means, e.g. in an RTM process, can be produced and has a high inherent stiffness at a low weight.
According to a second aspect of the invention, the object is achieved by a motor vehicle having a vehicle body and a vehicle roof, wherein the vehicle roof is designed according to a vehicle roof according to the invention and fastened to the vehicle body. Accordingly, the vehicle roof on a roof outer skin made of a fiber composite material, a roof core of a foamed material and an inner roof of a fiber composite material. The roof core is sandwiched between the outer roof skin and the inner roof skin. The roof outer skin, the roof core and the roof inner skin are designed and connected to one another such that the vehicle roof of the motor vehicle is designed to absorb pressure forces and / or torsional moments of the vehicle body. The vehicle roof is attached to the vehicle body, preferably irreversibly, in particular glued, riveted, locked, screwed or the like.
In the described motor vehicle, all the advantages that have already been described for a vehicle roof according to the first aspect of the invention result. Accordingly, the motor vehicle according to the invention over conventional motor vehicles has the advantage that this can be produced by simple means and in a cost-effective manner and has a high inherent rigidity with a particularly low total weight. Due to the high inherent rigidity of the vehicle roof, the vehicle according to the invention does not require any additional cost-intensive and heavy roof hoops. Thus, the vehicle body of the motor vehicle according to the invention at reduced total weight on an improved overall stiffness. As a result, for example, a crash behavior of the motor vehicle is improved. In addition, the sandwich construction of the vehicle roof has the advantage that a special good sound insulation and thermal insulation is provided.
It is inventively preferred that the vehicle body has a roof frame, wherein an inner skin edge region of the roof inner skin or a skin edge portion of the roof outer skin rests on the roof frame and is attached thereto, in particular by gluing, riveting, notches or the like. Preferably, the inner skin edge region of the roof inner skin rests on the roof frame and is fastened thereto. The bonding is preferably carried out as a continuous bond. This has the advantage that this can already be a seal of the vehicle roof to the vehicle body.
The outer skin edge region of the roof outer skin and / or the inner skin edge region of the inner roof skin preferably laterally covers the roof core and seals to the roof frame via a sealing device. In this case, it is preferable for the outer skin edge region to laterally cover the roof core and to seal it over the sealing device to the roof frame. As a sealing device, for example, a rubber seal and / or an adhesive bond can be provided. The vehicle roof is preferably adapted to the roof frame so that the sealing device is substantially free of force during operation of the motor vehicle and a power transmission, in particular of compressive forces, takes place substantially between the roof frame and the inner roof skin. The sealing device preferably closes flush with the roof outer skin and the roof frame. Such a sealing device has the advantage that a gap between the roof frame and the vehicle roof from the ingress of environmental influences, in particular water, dust and the like, is protected.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention can in a motor vehicle be provided that the roof inner skin has a the inner skin edge region adjacent first bend, which rests positively against a corresponding second bend of the roof frame. The first bend and / or second bend can be formed for example as a heel, double heel or the like. Preferably, the first bend and / or second bend angle between 65 ° and 115 °, more preferably of about 90 °. A bend around the 90 ° has the particular advantage that a shearing of the vehicle roof to the roof frame under pressure forces is better avoidable. In the context of the invention, a corresponding second bend means a second bend of the roof frame, which can be brought into engagement with the first bend of the roof inner skin, in particular in a form-fitting manner. As a result, for example, a lowering of the vehicle roof in the direction of the passenger compartment and / or a lateral displacement of the vehicle roof and / or a displacement of the vehicle roof along the vehicle longitudinal axis can be positively limited or prevented.
Preferably, the vehicle body does not have a roof hoop. Skylarks are mostly made of a metal and welded to the rest of the vehicle body to increase the overall stiffness of the vehicle body, for example. Roof hoops have a relatively high specific gravity and cause only a limited increase in the overall stiffness of the vehicle body. Moreover, roof hoops cause particularly high production costs. Since an improved overall stiffness of the motor vehicle can already be achieved by the inventive design of the vehicle roof, roof skirts are dispensable, so that the disadvantages of roof bows are not present.
