Description
The invention relates to a hearing aid, in particular a hearing aid.
The term "hearing aid" usually comprises various devices which serve to output sound signals to an ear or the hearing center of a user ("wearer") of the respective device. In addition to so-called hearing aid devices that help people with a hearing loss to at least partially compensate for this hearing loss, including headset, tinnitus maskers and the like fall under the term "hearing aid".
Hearing aids, in particular hearing aids, regularly comprise at least one microphone for detecting ambient acoustic signal, such as e.g. Speech (i.e., especially voices), music or other sounds. Furthermore, hearing aids usually include a handset (also referred to as a loudspeaker) as the output unit, with which acoustic output signals-usually in amplified form-are relayed to the wearer of the hearing aid. Cochlear or bone conduction implants are also used as output units, in particular in the case of hearing aids. For further processing of the microphone signals in output signals (in particular by filtering, amplification, etc.), hearing aids regularly include a controller, also referred to as a signal processing unit.
Among other things, modern hearing aids are also set up to exchange signals with other, in particular separate devices. Such signals are, for example, control commands that are provided by an external remote control or a control unit with an adaptation software for the corresponding hearing device, or audio signals of a separate music player. In the case of a hearing aid equipped for binaural signal processing, the signals may also be binaural, acoustic information data of a second binaural hearing device. Preferably, the signals described above are transmitted wirelessly between the hearing aids and the corresponding separate devices. For this purpose, corresponding (modern) hearing aids usually comprise an antenna.
Conventionally, hearing aids, in particular hearing aids, which are designed, for example, as behind-the-ear (short: BTE hearing aids) or in-the-ear (in short: IDO) hearing aids, are close to the body, specifically behind the pinna or directly worn in the ear canal. However, with signal transmission in the radio frequency range (i.e., in particular between about 0.5 to 10 GHz), the adjacent body tissue that has comparatively high attenuation characteristics for frequencies in that range often significantly reduces the (signal transmission) efficiency of an antenna. In order to still be able to output the signals to be transmitted with sufficient power, thus an increased energy demand is necessary, but runs counter to a steady miniaturization of hearing aids and thus dwindling space for sufficiently large energy storage.
The invention has for its object to improve the wireless signal transmission characteristics of a hearing aid.
This object is achieved by a hearing aid with the features of claim 1. Advantageous and partly inventive embodiments and further developments of the invention are set forth in the dependent claims and the description below.
The hearing aid according to the invention comprises an electronic assembly and a housing in which the electronic assembly is received. The housing (and preferably also the electronic assembly) has an elongated shape. This means, in particular, that the housing has a length that is much greater than its width. Furthermore, the hearing device comprises an antenna which is arranged on a side facing the intended use state of the hearing aid on the body of a hearing aid wearer (hereinafter referred to as upper side) of the housing between the electronic assembly and an outer wall of a housing. The antenna comprises two substantially (i.e., exactly or approximately) parallel legs. These legs are aligned in the longitudinal direction of the housing and connected at one of its longitudinal ends via a (preferably extending in the width direction of the housing) transverse web. Thus, the antenna in particular has an approximately U-shaped basic structure.
Because the antenna is arranged on the upper side of the housing and in particular between the electronic assembly and the outer wall of the housing, the antenna is advantageously only subject to minor disturbing influences (eg shielding effects or other losses of signal power-inducing influences) due to metallic and / or electronic components of the electronic assembly subjected. In addition, especially in a BTE hearing aid, the top of the housing in the intended state of wear directed away from the body of the hearing aid wearer, so that the radiated from the antenna signals are hardly or at least moderately attenuated by the adjacent body tissue. This allows a particularly high efficiency of the antenna, especially in the radio frequency range. Furthermore can be influenced by the U-shaped structure of the antenna, the location of at least one resonant frequency in the radio frequency range of the antenna even at the present in the housing of the hearing aid (relatively small) space. The resonant frequency of an antenna is influenced, for example, by the ratio of the antenna volume (ie in particular the conductive surface of the antenna) and the length of the antenna (in particular of the antenna edge which surrounds the antenna volume). It is regularly required for low frequencies a correspondingly greater length of the antenna. The resonant frequency (or resonant frequency range) is usually a frequency value (or narrower frequency range in comparison to the radio frequency range) in which the antenna has a comparatively high emission power at a comparatively low input power (the same applies analogously to the reception of signals). ,
The term "electronic assembly" is here and hereinafter referred to in particular a plurality of electronic components of the hearing device, which are preferably mounted together on a carrier also called "frame" - which is preferably part of the electronic assembly - and so a (pre-) Form mounting unit, which is used as such in the housing of the hearing aid during assembly of the hearing aid. The electronic components are, for example, at least one microphone, a loudspeaker and in particular a controller (which is also referred to as "signal processing unit"). The frame also preferably carries contacts and traces, which are optionally formed directly on the frame itself or on a circuit board attached to the frame, and which serve to contact the electronic components with each other. Furthermore, as an additional electronic component, an energy source, preferably a rechargeable battery with an associated charging electronics, is optionally arranged on the frame.
In a preferred embodiment, the controller is formed at least in the core by a microcontroller with a processor and a data memory, in which a functionality for signal processing of particular detected by means of or each microphone acoustic input signals in the form of operating software is implemented programmatically. Alternatively, the controller is constituted by a non-programmable electronic component, e.g. an ASIC, in which the functionality for the aforementioned signal processing is implemented by means of circuitry.
The antenna is preferably coupled by means of a terminal designated as a signal terminal signal transmission technology with an antenna interface of the electronic assembly, for example by means of a solder joint, terminal contacts or the like. This antenna interface preferably serves to provide and / or receive the signals in the radio frequency range at or from the antenna. In particular, the antenna interface is formed by an "RF chip" or "RF-IC". Expediently, the antenna interface is present in addition to the controller in the electronic assembly and is preferably connected in terms of signal transmission technology to the controller. In an alternative embodiment conceivable in the context of the invention, the antenna interface is integrated in the controller.
In a further preferred embodiment, the antenna has a connection, in particular referred to as a ground connection, for contacting the antenna with reference potential, in particular ground potential. The ground terminal (and its contacting with reference potential) is particularly advantageous to the antenna (in particular its impedance) to the impedance of the antenna interface (the RF chip or RF-ICs), in particular to the impedance of the corresponding terminal (input and / or output ) of the antenna interface (in particular to equalize the impedances). As a result, in turn, advantageously, the power provided by the antenna interface to the antenna and thus the efficiency of the antenna can be influenced.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the signal terminal of the antenna (i.e., the connection of the signal line) and the ground terminal are arranged in the region of the transverse web of the antenna. That is, both the signal terminal and the ground terminal are arranged, in particular, at the "base" of the U forming the antenna, and thus comparatively close to each other. "In the area" of the crosspiece or the base means here and below that, for example, the ground terminal for adjusting the impedance of the antenna may also be slightly displaced (compared to the length of the antenna) along a leg of the antenna away from the crosspiece. This advantageously influences the impedance of the antenna. Because by varying the distance between the signal terminal and the ground terminal, the impedance of the antenna can be changed and thus adapted to the "working frequency", in particular to the resonant frequency of the antenna to be used, and to the impedance of the antenna interface.
In an expedient embodiment, the antenna is flat, in particular designed like a foil. That is, the antenna is thin-walled, especially with one compared to its thickness by one Multiple formed larger area. The antenna is thus not a wire antenna or a comparatively narrow track used as an antenna. In one embodiment variant, the planar antenna is designed in particular as a separate (in particular metallic) foil, for example of copper. In an alternative variant, the planar antenna is preferably by an MID method ("Molded Interconnect Device" method), in particular by laser direct structuring ("LDS"), on an independent substrate or optionally on a portion of the frame educated.
In principle, the antenna is in particular configured to be operated in a frequency range from 0.5 to 10 GHz, preferably from 0.8 to 4 GHz. In a preferred embodiment, the antenna is also designed to have a resonant frequency in the range of preferably about 2.4 GHz. "Approximately" is understood here and in the following to the effect that the resonance frequency in particular in the range of 2.4 +/- 0.3 GHz, preferably +/- 0.1 GHz, more preferably in the range between 2.4 and 2.5 GHz, for example at 2.45 GHz. This resonant frequency is preferably set by a suitable ratio of the length of the outer side of the legs of the U limiting edge (the "outer edge"), the length of the inner edge and the arranged between the outer and inner edge antenna surface. As a result of the U-shaped structure of the antenna, a comparatively long edge length can be achieved even with a comparatively short overall length of the antenna and, in particular, advantageously a resonance frequency can thus be set with such a low value. Conveniently, the hearing aid is also adapted to be operated at this resonant frequency. Ie. the antenna interface is configured to transmit and / or receive at this resonant frequency. When operating in resonance, the antenna advantageously has a particularly high efficiency.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the (substantially) parallel legs of the antenna extend over a majority of the length of the housing, in particular over at least 2/3 of the length of the housing. As a result, the antenna is advantageously designed to be sufficiently long, so that in particular it has the comparatively low resonance frequency in the range of approximately 2.4 GHz described above.
In a further advantageous embodiment, in particular for the case in which the antenna is formed flat as described above, the surface of the antenna is integrally formed on the surface of the electronic assembly and / or the inside of the housing, i. this reshaped (in particular curved or arched). As a result, the antenna can advantageously cover a comparatively large area of the inside of the housing, without reducing the space required for the electronics assembly.
In a preferred embodiment, the hearing aid is designed as a BTE hearing aid. In this case, the housing of the hearing aid in a particularly simple manner to a sufficient length in order to operate the antenna, in particular in the resonant frequency range described above.
In a further advantageous embodiment, a U-shaped slot (referred to as "internal slot") is incorporated in the antenna. This internal slot is arranged following the U-shaped structure of the antenna following this. In other words, the internal slot runs along the legs and the crosspiece of the antenna. This internal slot advantageously makes it possible for the antenna to have an additional resonant frequency, which can be used in particular for signal transmission in another frequency range. Optionally, the additional resonant frequency also advantageously serves to increase the (resonant frequency) bandwidth of the antenna (for the transmitting and / or receiving operation of the antenna).
