Description
The invention relates to a crash device for a motor vehicle with at least one steerable front wheel, wherein the front wheel is connectable via a front wheel suspension with the motor vehicle.
In today's development of motor vehicles, in particular of passenger cars, a high attention is paid to the active and passive safety systems, which should protect the occupants of the motor vehicle in an accident, namely in the crash load case of the vehicle. In order to be able to offer standardized statements about vehicle safety, the EURO NCAP crash test has been developed, for example, for a frontal collision of the vehicle. The EURO-NCAP crash test simulates a frontal collision of the vehicle, with the vehicle being driven head-on with a 40% overlap (in relation to the total vehicle width) at a speed of 64 km / h against a rigid obstacle. In addition to the EURO NCAP crash test, a new crash test has been developed in the USA for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), in which the vehicle is driven at a speed of 64 km / h with only 25% over the total vehicle width of the vehicle Motor vehicle hits the rigid obstacle head-on. This test procedure is also referred to as "small overlap test" (SOL). The SOL test simulates z. As the case when the driver still tries to avoid a rear-end collision to the left or right and not quite an obstacle passes over. In this case, completely different loads act on the motor vehicle than with a larger overlap, which is simulated in the EURO NCAP test. Due to the low coverage of 25% or less based on the total vehicle width of the motor vehicle to the obstacle not relevant for the EURO NCAP test safety systems of the body or the vehicle frame. The structure of the known vehicles is in fact designed precisely to the specifications of the EURO NCAP test, wherein at the appropriate place, for example, a longitudinal member of the vehicle frame absorbs the force acting upon the obstacle on impact and converts it into deformation energy. However, this structure of the known vehicles, namely the arrangement of a longitudinal member, which absorbs the force acting on the motor vehicle force and converts it into deformation energy, is missed at low coverage, whereby the force acting on the motor vehicle when hitting the obstacle on the wheels or axles is transmitted directly to the vehicle body and in particular to the passenger compartment. Since the front wheel is supported on the A-pillar of the motor vehicle and the sill, this can penetrate deep into the passenger compartment in the event of a crash load, thereby reducing the occupant's survival space and thus increasing the risk of injury to the occupants.

It is therefore the object of the invention to overcome the disadvantages known from the prior art at least partially. In particular, it is the object of the present invention to design a motor vehicle in such a way that, in particular, upon impact of the motor vehicle with low coverage on an obstacle, a penetration of the motor vehicle wheel into the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle can be prevented in a crash load case.
To solve this problem, a crash device for a motor vehicle with all the features of
Further features and details of the invention will become apparent from the dependent device claims, the description and the drawings. In this case, features and details that are described in connection with the crash device according to the invention apply, of course, also in connection with the motor vehicle according to the invention and in each case vice versa, so that respect. The disclosure of the individual aspects of the invention is always reciprocal reference or can be.
A generic crash device for a motor vehicle with at least one steerable front wheel, wherein the front wheel is connectable via a front suspension with the motor vehicle, comprises at least one crash element. According to the invention, it is provided that in a crash load case in the direction of travel of the motor vehicle at an approximately straight ahead position of the front wheel when hitting an obstacle to the crash element and / or on the front wheel, the front wheel by activation by the crash element from the straight ahead driving position can be converted into a steering position.
Since the crash device of the present invention can be activated in a crash load case in the direction of travel of the motor vehicle, this serves primarily to avoid penetration of the front wheel in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle in a frontal collision of the motor vehicle. In contrast to known solutions in which, for example, by means of an activatable Predetermined breaking point that front wheel is released in the event of a crash load from the front suspension, the crash device according to the invention provides that is activated by activation by the crash element, the front wheel from the straight-ahead driving position in a steering position. In this respect, the crash device according to the invention serves as a measure primarily for influencing the steering kinematics of the front wheel. Influencing the steering kinematics, here in particular the transferring of the front wheel from the straight-ahead driving position into the steering position, is thus intended to add to the improvement of the SOL crash safety of the motor vehicle, whereby in particular a rotating front wheel should be ensured in the event of a crash load.
Advantageously, the controlled turning out of the front wheel in a crash load case, which is triggered by hitting an obstacle on the crash element and / or on the front wheel, carried out such that when transferred to the steering position, the front in the direction of travel part of the front wheel is pivoted to the vehicle interior and the rear in the direction of travel part of the front wheel is pivoted to the vehicle exterior. If the front wheel is hammered in such a way, namely in particular the rear part is pivoted outwardly to the vehicle, it can be ensured that in a crash load case with a tearing of the front wheel of the front suspension or extreme compression of the front end of the motor vehicle, the front wheel against the direction of travel of the motor vehicle obliquely to the rear, d. H. in particular past the passenger compartment, is passed. Due to this measure can be prevented that the front wheel in the crash load case, d. H. in a head-on collision of the motor vehicle on an obstacle, in the direction of the passenger compartment, namely in particular in the passenger compartment, is pushed or displaced. In this respect, the engagement according to the invention is suitable via a crash element in the steering kinematics of the front wheel of the motor vehicle in order to prevent the front wheel from penetrating into the passenger compartment in the event of a crash load. As a result, the survival space formed by the passenger compartment remains in an accident with a low overlap on an obstacle, as simulated in the SOL test, repaired, whereby the occupant protection can be increased and the risk of injury to the occupants in a crash load case can be reduced.
In the present case, according to the SOL crash test, as well as the EURO NCAP test assumed that the front wheel when hitting the obstacle is approximately in the straight-ahead driving position, wherein when hitting the front wheel in straight-ahead position on the obstacle, the front wheel without influence steering kinematics, d. H. without the transfer to the steering position, would move against the direction of travel in the direction of the passenger compartment. In the context of the present invention, the unfavorable case should also be included as the straight-ahead driving position, in which the motor vehicle strikes the obstacle in a steering position of the front wheel, wherein in the steering position the rear part of the front wheel pivots towards the vehicle interior and the front part of the front wheel turns towards the outside of the vehicle is. In this unfavorable case of hitting the motor vehicle on an obstacle, the front wheel would move without interference with the steering kinematics in the direction of the passenger compartment. The crash element of the crash device according to the invention transferred after activation in this case, the front wheel from the unfavorable steering position on the straight-ahead driving position in the advantageous steering position in which the rear part of the front wheel is pivoted to the vehicle exterior and the front part of the front wheel pivoted to the vehicle interior is.
Preferably, the crash element of the crash device according to the invention in the region of the front wheel, in particular outside the arranged for a frontal impact on the motor vehicle crash elements can be arranged. In this case, in particular the crash element in the event of a crash load can be activated with an impact of the front part of the motor vehicle lying in front of the front wheel on the obstacle with an overlap of in particular 25% or less relative to the total vehicle width of the motor vehicle. The other crash elements are, for example, the already described longitudinal members of the vehicle frame, which can only be activated when the motor vehicle encounters the obstacle in the region of the longitudinal member. However, in the present case, in particular the frontal impact on the obstacle with the front part of the motor vehicle lying in front of the front wheel with an overlap of 25% or less relative to the total vehicle width of the motor vehicle is considered, the longitudinal member is guided past the obstacle and can thus act on the vehicle Do not break down force via deformation energy. However, since in this case the crash element of the crash device according to the invention in the region of the front wheel, d. H. either in front of the front wheel in the direction of travel, or at the level of the front wheel, for example in the area of the front suspension or within the front wheel, d. H. Here, in particular within the rim on the wheel carrier encompassed by the front suspension can be arranged, is the impact of the motor vehicle with an overlap to an obstacle of 25% or less by hitting the obstacle on the crash element and / or the front wheel, the crash element in the crash -Lastfall activated and influenced when activated the steering kinematics of the front wheel.
The force acting on the motor vehicle and in particular on the crash element and / or on the front wheel in the crash load case is preferably not converted primarily into deformation energy as known from the prior art, but according to the invention results in a steering movement of the front wheel influenced by this measure, the steering kinematics of the front wheel and thereby the SOL crash safety of the vehicle can be improved. The controlled steering movement, namely the controlled turning out of the front wheel, which takes place through the crash element of the crash device, is accordingly triggered only in the event of a crash load by an obstacle striking the motor vehicle in the direction of travel. The obstacle may be an obstacle external to the vehicle, or it may be an obstacle formed by the motor vehicle itself in the event of a frontal impact, in which case vehicle-specific components are meant which strike the crash element in the event of a crash.
The crash element preferably interacts with the front wheel suspension of the motor vehicle in such a way that it becomes an obstacle in the event of a crash, namely a frontal collision of the motor vehicle with a low overlap, in particular with an overlap of 25% or less relative to the total vehicle width of the motor vehicle the front suspension is activated by the crash element, wherein the front wheel can be converted by activating the front wheel suspension from the straight-ahead driving position into the steering position. An activation of the front suspension by the crash element is both preferably mechanically feasible, as well as electrically and / or electronically controllable. A mechanical influence of the front suspension can be done for example by means of shape design, kinetics or change in state of the crash element, wherein the force acting on the front wheel in the crash load forces are converted such that a steering movement of the front wheel via the front suspension is feasible. Of course, it is also conceivable that the crash element is at least one crash sensor, for example a force, acceleration or pressure sensor, which senses in the event of a crash when the obstacle strikes the sensor, the obstacle and / or the forces acting on it and electrically or electronically engages in the control of the motor vehicle based on the measurement that the front wheel is transferred to the steering position, namely, the rear part of the front wheel is pivoted to the vehicle exterior and the front part of the front wheel is pivoted to the vehicle interior. In particular, such a sensor-based system is suitable for steer-by-wire steering systems in motor vehicles, in which the steering wheel is decoupled from the mechanical coupling with the steering of the vehicle. Accordingly, in the event of a crash load, the data determined by the crash sensor can electrically or electronically intervene in the steer-by-wire steering system of the motor vehicle, and thus a steering command can be activated.
Compared to the known solutions, in which the front wheel is actively freed from its connection to the front suspension in the SOL crash load case, the crash device according to the invention preferably provides that on the crash element and / or on the front suspension in the crash load case at the transfer of the front wheel from the straight-ahead driving position, at least in the steering position, the connection between the front wheel and the motor vehicle is maintained. On the one hand can be prevented by this embodiment of the crash device that the front wheel is released in the crash load case before its transfer to the steering position of the front suspension, thereby preventing the freed from the front suspension front wheel in straight-ahead driving position in the direction of the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle moves. On the other hand can be achieved by this preferably embodiment of the crash device, that a front wheel released from the front wheel endangers other road users. However, in the event of a crash, if the front wheel is released from the connection with the front suspension, maintaining the connection between the front wheel and the front suspension at least up to the steering position ensures that the front wheel moves laterally past the passenger compartment counter to the direction of travel , whereby penetration of the front wheel into the passenger compartment can be reliably prevented.
The crash element of the crash device advantageously has an abutment element which can be positioned in front of the front wheel in the direction of travel, or which can be positioned in front of a wheel carrier encompassed by the front wheel suspension in the region of the front wheel in the direction of travel. As a result of which the abutting element is located in the direction of travel in front of the front wheel, or the abutment element is located in front of the wheel carrier, which ensures the connection of the front wheel via the front suspension to the motor vehicle, the obstacle in the event of a crash hits either the crash positioned in front of the front wheel Element, preferably on an abutment element designed on the crash element, or the obstacle strikes at least the crash element arranged in front of the wheel carrier and preferably on the abutment element configured on the crash element. In this case, the transmitted in the crash load case on the abutment member on the crash element force is not transmitted directly to the vehicle frame or the body of the motor vehicle, but is preferably converted into the steering movement of the front wheel. Since force must already be exerted for the conversion of the force acting on the crash element into the kinetic motion of the steering of the front wheel, only a reduced part of the force acting on the motor vehicle in the event of a crash will be applied to the motor vehicle, and here in particular Transfer vehicle frame or the body of the motor vehicle, whereby preferably a deformation of the passenger compartment can be reduced in the event of a crash load.
In an advantageous manner, the abutment element is a positionable in front of the front wheel actuating lever, for example in the form of a crash barrier, which is operatively connected to the front wheel suspension, that upon actuation of the actuating lever, a front wheel suspension included tie rod is deformable such that the front wheel in the Steering position can be transferred. An actuating lever which can be positioned in front of the front wheel in the direction of travel can be arranged, for example, on a longitudinal or transverse support of the motor vehicle main frame or of the motor vehicle auxiliary frame, in the event of a crash load case in which the obstacle laterally impinges on the longitudinal member in the direction of the front wheel or on the front wheel, to offer the obstacle at least one kick-off surface. The force acting on the abutment element via the abutment surface, namely the force acting here on the actuation lever, is advantageously converted into a movement of the lever, in which the actuation lever is rotated counter to the direction of travel, preferably counterclockwise about an axis. By turning the operating lever, or by displacement of the abutment surface of the actuating lever against the direction of travel is preferably operatively connected to the actuating lever via a coupling element, for example via a wire rope or a coupling rod deflection lever deflected so that one with the lever over a coupling element, for example, an over a wire rope or a coupling rod connected ring, which includes the tie rod of the front suspension, opposite to the direction of travel and is displaced obliquely upward, wherein by displacement of the ring, the tie rod is deformed in such a way that is deformed in particular convex against the direction of travel. About the deformed tie rod is a transfer of the front wheel from the straight-ahead driving position in the steering position. Since upon impact of the obstacle on the designed as an actuating lever abutment elements, the steering kinematics of the front wheel on the lever and the tie rod comprehensive ring, in its displacement, the tie rod is deformed, the force acting on the motor vehicle in the event of a crash load is completely degraded in the best case, The motor vehicle can be repaired by simply replacing the deformed tie rod.
The abutment element can advantageously also be configured as a block-forming element with an end face lying in the direction of travel, the end face of the abutment element, i. H. the crash element is configured such that in the event of a crash load the steering of the front wheel can be activated via the force acting on the end face. The block-forming element may, for example, in front of the wheel carrier, d. H. be arranged within the front wheel to reverse in the SOL crash load case when hitting an obstacle on the front wheel acting on the front wheel forces such that the front wheel can be transferred from the straight-ahead driving position to the steering position. Without such an abutment element designed as a block, the force acting on the outside of the front wheel in the event of a crash load is greater than the force acting on the inside of the front wheel. In this power ratio, the front wheel would be unfavorably deflected in a crash load case such that the rear part of the front wheel is pivoted to the vehicle interior, and the front parts of the front wheel is pivoted to the vehicle exterior. With the block-forming element, which preferably has an impulse nose protruding toward the vehicle interior, the force ratio usually acting on the front wheel can be converted such that in the crash load case, in particular in the SOL crash load case, on the inside of the front wheel acting force is greater than the force acting on the outside of the front wheel in a crash load case force. As a result, in the event of a crash, the front wheel can be transferred from the straight-ahead position into the steering position in such a way that the rear part of the front wheel is pivoted toward the vehicle exterior and the front part of the front wheel is pivoted to the vehicle interior. Accordingly, the steering wheel kinematics of the front wheel in the crash load case positively influenced by the shape of the crash element, namely here in particular by shaping of the abutment element with a driving forward forward Abstoßnase, namely the front wheel steered so that this with his rear lying part is pivoted to the vehicle exterior, whereby in the event of a crash load penetration of the front wheel can be prevented in the passenger compartment.
In a particularly preferred manner, the block-forming element is a positioned in the direction of travel in front of the wheel brake caliper, wherein in particular on the front in the direction of travel front side of the caliper a Anstoßnase is configured. The fact that the abutment element is designed as a caliper, the abutment element, both the function of the caliper, as well as the function of the Meeting crash element, whereby the crash device according to the invention is extremely reduced in weight and cost to implement, since only the caliper must be positioned on the wheel in the direction of travel in front of the wheel and must be configured with a Abstoßnase.
Advantageously, the crash element may be a damper with adjustable pressure level, which is designed in particular as a handlebar of the front suspension, wherein the pressure level of the damper is adjustable so that in the case of a crash load, the damper is blocked, wherein the blocking of the damper Front wheel can be transferred to the steering position. An additional handlebar or damper usually acts as a telescopic element and thus has no influence on the wheel kinematics. By contrast, in the case of a crash load, the degree of freedom of the damper is preferably limited or blocked via the correspondingly designed pressure stage of the damper, so that the front wheel executes a steering movement, namely into the steering position, the rear part of the front wheel being pivoted toward the vehicle exterior , The crash element designed as a damper may connect the front wheel to the vehicle frame or to the vehicle body in addition to the front suspension, or the damper may replace a front suspension element, the damper serving, for example, as a front control suspension arm. The damper may preferably be a spring damper, wherein the blocking of the damper is adjustable via the spring constant of the spring damper. More preferably, the damper is a hydraulic telescopic shock absorber or an air and / or hydraulic damper with adjustable blocking.
Es zeigen: In particular, it is pointed out that, for purposes of redundancy, at least two embodiment variants of the crash device according to the invention can be combined with one another.
