Abstract
Pflanzen mit langen Pfahlwurzeln können in handelsüblichen Gefäßen nicht kultiviert werden, da die Wurzel sehr schnell den Gefäßboden erreicht und maximal noch etwas seitlich ausweichen kann. Die Wurzel wachst eventuell noch etwas im Kreis und schnürt sich dabei selber ab. Spätestens zu diesen Zeitpunkt hört das Wachstum des Grünanteils der Pflanze auf. Dieses Problem wird gelöst indem die Pfahlwurzel in einem spiralförmigen (kreisförmigen) Wuchs allmählich nach unten geführt wird. Damit der Durchmesser des Pflanzgefäßes eine sinnvolle Größe nicht überschreitet, wird der Pfahlwurzel ein kreisförmiger Wuchs über mehrere Etagen ermöglicht. Der Durchmesser des Pflanzgefäßes und die Höhe (Anzahl der Etagen) ist abhängig von der Länge der Pfahlwurzel. Zur Verwendung von z. B.
