Stöcke werden z. B. beim Trecking und Bergwandern eingesetzt. Je nach Gelände, beim Bergauf- und Bergabgehen sind unterschiedliche Stocklängen erforderlich, die durch das Greifen an verschiedenen Griffpositionen realisiert werden. Es steht aber nur an der obersten Griffposition auch eine Griffschlaufe zur Verfügung, was die Kraftübertragung an den anderen Positionen verschlechtert. Das Stocksystem soll an mehreren Positionen mehrere Schlaufen zur Verfügung stellen.
